Chapter Two
The game was extremely intense and the Diggory family were only watching from the stands. Thea could only imagine what it would have been like in the top box, grumbling slightly under her breath. The Weasley's were extremely lucky.
Anyone could tell that the game was going to be immensely close. The Irish were the first to score but that didn't stop the Bulgarians, they were out for a win.
The Irish continued to score but with the Bulgarian's cocky attitude, they were being hit with penalties left and right.
Thea watched in shock as Quigley from the Irish team sent a bludger straight for the Bulgarian's star seeker, Viktor Krum's face. It was a straight hit.
Everyone grimaced but Thea shuffled forward on her seat eager for the rest of the game.
"Cedric, they're going for the snitch!" Thea screamed, her eyes wide at the game before her.
"I know. I know!" Cedric screamed in reply, shaking with excitement.
Lynch raced forward on his broom but Krum lurched ahead his fingers outstretched.
Krum's fingers closed around the snitch. The game was over. But that didn't mean that the Bulgarians took the win. The Irish were too many points ahead.
The final score 170-160.
The Irish had won!
Cedric and Thea both did a little happy dance in their seats, before turning to each other with amused grins on both of their faces, Amos watching with a grin.
"They won! They won!" Thea screamed. "That'll be two knuts and a sickle, dad!" Thea boasted, over the moon that she had made the bet and won it. Amos was an avid fan of the Bulgarians and supported them through anything, he was certain that they would win.
After waiting forever just to get out of the stadium. Thea, Amos, and Cedric turned around to find Arthur and Ginny waiting for us.
"Hullo! That was one heck of a game, wasn't it?" Dad bellowed in their direction.
"It really was, Amos. I can't believe the game finished in that way." Arthur bellowed back. "Anyway, I was wondering if you guys wanted to come back to our tent to celebrate?"
"We've got some cocoa," Ginny added.
"That sounds lovely. What do you think about that kids?" Dad asked.
"That sounds great!" Both Thea and Cedric shouted in unison, before turning to each other with grins.
"Anyway, I've got something to show you, Thea," Ginny whispered, walking up to Thea.
"Do I get to know what this something is?" Thea whispered back.
"No."
"Girls, stop whispering about stuff. You'll have time to do that when we get back to the tent.
We headed over to the location of their tent, Thea soon opening the door, her senses completely overwhelmed.
Percy was reading quietly in a corner. Fred and George were dancing around giddily, while Ron swooned over Viktor Krum, completely in love.
"There's no one like Krum." Ron swooned. "He resembles a bird the way that he rides the wind. He's more than an athlete. He's truly an artist."
Thea watched slightly amused while the twins circled him chanting Krum's name. If anyone else was listening they would think that we had all gone mad.
"Are you in love, Ron?" Thea asked with a raised eyebrow, watching as Ron's eyes slid over to her, turning slightly pink.
"Viktor, I love you!" Fred sang, only slightly out of tune.
"Viktor, I do!" George sang.
"When we're apart my heart only beats for youuu!" All the boys sang in unison. Thea cringing at their attempt to harmonise.
A sound that sounded almost like firecrackers suddenly exploded outside the tent.
"Looks like the Irish have their pride on," George said, smiling over at Thea, the brunette sticking out her tongue in reply.
Thea watched as Amos and Arthur ran in with worried expressions, completely unaware that they had even left.
"What's the matter?" Thea asked in concern as Amos and Arthur gathered the group together.
"Stop. It's not the Irish getting their pride on." Arthur said anxiously.
"We've got to leave. Now!" Amos warned, fear lining his face, a sharp contrast from his usual carefree persona.
They were quickly pushed out of the tent into complete pandemonium, everyone was running around screaming and panicking. The issue was clear as day.
"What's happening?" Cedric asked.
"It doesn't matter right now. Just get back to the portkey and stay together." Arthur quickly informed the group. "Boys, Ginny is your responsibility, look after her!"
The three of them nodded quickly. Fred and George quickly grabbed Ginny's hand speaking soothing words to her as bit her lip nervously. No-one could blame her, the rest didn't even know what was happening.
"The same goes for you too," Dad said. "Cedric, Thea, look after each other."
"Of course, Dad!" Cedric shouted over all the noise. He quickly grabbed my hand and pulled me over to the twins, Percy and Ginny.
We quickly ran away from the tent with Fred, George, Percy and Ginny in front of us and Harry, Ron and Hermione behind us.
Thea quickly looked around, gasping as she glimpsed hooded figures covered in black cloth walking in a line illuminated by the fire that reduced several tents into ashes.
She shook as a chilling shiver ran up my spine making the hair on the back of my neck stand up like soldiers awaiting instruction. Averting my gaze as a small whoosh extended into the air as another tent was set on fire. She looked ahead at the group in front before working to calm her breathing, thought running wild through her mind. It was going to be a long night. What was happening? This was such an awful ending to the Quidditch World Cup. Why had this happened?
