Chapter One

"Cedric?"

"Thea." Cedric groaned.

"C'mon Cedric! Up! Up! Up!"

"Thea, it's not funny. It's the summer holidays I'm going to sleep in." He said blearily, shutting his eyes defiantly.

"You've forgotten what day it is haven't you?"

"It's Monday and too early to be awake."

"Thank you for the time and date. Good job on working out what day and time it is." Thea said sarcastically. "However I'm not awake at 4:30 am on a Monday morning during the summer holidays for the sake of it. Dad sent me up to wake you up."

"Why?" He interrupted.

"If you actually let me finish, you might find out," Thea returned. How does Cedric not remember what day it is? He's been talking about it constantly, for months.

"We are going to the Quidditch World Cup today!" Thea revealed, watching as Cedric was dragged out of the depths of sleep suddenly and landed on the floor with a large thud. Taking of her willpower not to laugh.

"It is?"

"Yes, idiot. I don't wake up at 4:30 for pure leisure, you know."

"True, sorry Thea."

"It's completely fine. Now get dressed! Breakfast is ready downstairs."

"Are you excited, Thea?" Anne Diggory asked as the Diggory siblings reached the kitchen.

"No mum, I'm not excited at all. I'm not as excited as Cedric but I do play on a fricking Quidditch team. But no mum I'm not excited at all." Thea returned with a grin.

"Thea please keep your sass in check. You will be representing our family there."

"Yes, Mum," Thea replied with a mock salute.

"Are you excited, Cedric?" She asked turning to Cedric.

"Of course Mum!" Cedric returned, ruffling Thea's hair as he passed.

"See Thea, that's a proper non-sarcastic response."

"Whatever you say, Mum."

"I'm sure you'll have a great time with the Weasley family."

"Excuse me?"

Everyone had heard of the Weasley family. The group of freckled red-heads that seemed to spread through the school like a rash. Everywhere you looked you would probably find a Weasley. Thea was in the same year as Fred and George Weasley the family's mischievous, popular, twin pranksters. When they were around no-one was safe from their pranks.

However, Thea was good friends with the youngest Weasley sibling and only girl, Ginny Weasley. The girls had originally met in the library when Thea found Ginny crying during her second year. After comforting the girl, Thea quickly became a listening ear during one of the most traumatic years any child could ever go through.

Thea was only one of the few people who truly know what had happened during that year and she hadn't told anyone. Rumours still circulated in the school about what had happened it seemed that ever since Harry Potter started to attend Hogwarts an adventure happened every single year.

"You heard me correctly, Thea."

"But why? I don't feel like being pranked all the time throughout the Cup."

"I'm sure you won't Thea. They are good boys." Anne continued, Thea scoffing at the comment. "But, I'm also pretty sure that Hermione Granger and Harry Potter will be joining the Weasley family. So don't forget to behave."

"I promise you that I'll behave." Thea returned with a roll of her eyes.

"Hello Everyone!" Mr Weasley chimed happily.

Thea hadn't believed her Mum at first. The Weasley's lived in the same town as her family and were the only two wizarding families in the area, so even though it made sense that we would be going to the Quidditch World Cup together, it didn't mean that she was happy about it.

"Hello Ginny, Hermione,"  Thea started, attempting to make conversation, pointedly ignoring the rest of the party.

"Hi, Thea. How have your holidays been?" Ginny asked.

"They've been good, thanks. I've been getting ready for the upcoming Quidditch season. Will you be trying out this year? How were your holidays?"

"Oh! Do you guys remember when Thea and Cedric bet the Gryffindor Quidditch team?" Amos brought up out of the blue. Amos was like that often, eccentric, proud and a little mental but both Diggory siblings still loved him the exact same. Thea watched with a grimace as Cedric flushed red and the twins certainly didn't look pleased either.

"Dad! I told you not to mention that. It was a mistake. Harry's an amazing seeker who probably would have beaten us." Thea replied looking over her shoulder at Harry who gave her a grateful smile.

"Thea! How are you?" A voice called as Thea internally groaned before looking at the identical grins looking down at her.

"Great," She returned sarcastically. "How's your apparent business?"

"Actually it's going great! Right, Fred?"

"Yes, George."

Thea wished that they would stop doing that and probably would until the end of time. The identical smiles and finishing each other's sentences. Thea sent a hopeful look over to Mr Weasley, hoping to get things going quicker.

"Don't worry. We have our own tent." Cedric whispered reassuringly.

"Thank goodness for that," Thea whispered back with a smirk.

Mr Weasley soon gave the signal to hold on to the Portkey, an old, mangy boot, and after reminding Harry to keep a tight hold of it, the group were off.

After spiralling through the air several times, Thea landed with a loud thud on the ground, all of the air knocked out of her lungs. She had never been a very good traveller with apparition or most forms of Wizard transportation. Even then, it seemed that no one was graceful except for Mr Weasley, Amos and as usual her 'perfect' brother, Cedric. Thea shot a look over her shoulder, giving the Weasley twins a smug smile, pain written all over their faces.

Thea was too busy stuck within her little daydream to notice that Fred and George had recovered and were on either side of her. Attempting to help pull her up, Thea soon pushing them away, getting up herself and brushing the dirt off her jeans.

"I'm not some damsel in distress that needs help all the time," She muttered to the two.

"Oh. We know. We like annoying you."

"Obviously. Anyway, stop it you pinheads."

"That would defeat the purpose then."

Thea shook her head in defeat but gasping in shock as she looked around. The camp that had been set up for the Quidditch World Cup was packed with magical folk from all across the world. A million different cultures and nationalities from across the Wizarding World that surrounded her.

"Finally."  Thea sighed contentedly, as the Diggory family left the Weasley's, in search of their own tent.

"Those twins are a handful, aren't they? They seem to particularly enjoy annoying you, Thea. Do they have a crush on you or even better do you have a crush on one of them?" Amos teased.

"DAD!" Thea howled, pressing her hands over her ears. Cedric chuckled and Thea stared at him. If looks could kill, she probably would have just killed Cedric.

"I'm just saying. You are getting to that ag-." Amos started but soon stopped upon seeing Thea's look.

"Finish that sentence I dare you," Thea challenged.

"Oh, look Thea. It's our tent!"

"Great," She muttered.

"You ready to go Thea?" Cedric asked.

"Of course. I've been ready for half an hour. Are you ready?"

"Yes! I'm so excited."

"Really? I would never have guessed."

"You know what you promised Mum."

"What?"

"You promised mum that you would behave. That means keeping the sass in check if you didn't know."

"Thanks, Mum!" Thea teased, poking Cedric before following Amos out of the tent.

Thea looked around in shock. She truly couldn't believe that she was at the Quidditch World Cup about to see the top teams in the world play. After dreaming about it for so long, it hardly seemed real.
