Chapter Ninety-One
Happy Memories.
It was the only thing that Thea had left to hold onto as pain ripped through her once again.
After following her request, Kingsley had given her the task of watching a known death eater hideout to see if she could observe them and find out anything that could have been of use to them.
But it had all gone wrong.
Caught unprepared, Thea had found herself captured by a death eater who seemed a little too happy to see her. He was eager to impress the Dark Lord by not only gaining information on the Order but hopefully to kill or drive the talented Auror, Thea Diggory.
Thea's training to become an Auror had been long and difficult but as well as the experiences that she had had in her life, made her tough. She wasn't going to tell the Death Eater anything even if it cost her life.
"Where are they?"
"Who?"
"Harry Potter, that Weasley kid and the mudblood. Fine then what about the Order of the Phoenix, what about them? What are there plans? Were you spying on my house tonight for them? Who are there members?"
Thea looked up at the pale man and glared at him but didn't utter a single syllable.
The Death Eater let out a slight sound of anger before roughly pulling Thea to her feet and making her look him straight in the face.
"All right, last chance. Tell me what I want to know otherwise I'll torture you until you will prefer death over living.
"Nice try. Nothing you can say or do will make me betray anyone."
The Death Eater grinned darkly before calling out another spell. "Crucio!"
Thea writhed on the floor in pain, everything hurt. She had already gone through a few rounds already but it could just be with time but it felt like this one hurt a lot more. The only thing she could do was clutch tightly to any happy memories that came to the forefront of her mind.
She thought of Frank and Alice Longbottom, Neville's parents who had been driven to insanity by the same curse, it had gotten to a point where they didn't even recognize their own son. Sirius had told Thea about them, one lazy afternoon where they had been discussing the unforgivables as well as the first Wizarding War.
However, after a few more rounds of screaming and unbearable pain, Thea couldn't help but shake like a leaf and it wasn't because of excitement. She could barely think and her vision was acting strangely. She was on the brink of insanity, she could feel it.
The Death Eater pulled her to her feet again but this time by her hair.
"Now will you tell me what I want to know?"
Thea leaned forward before spitting blood all over the face of her capturer and watched as he shrieked in fury. "Bite. Me." She said simply despite all the pain in her body.
"Oh, you are so going to pay for that one."
Elliot sat on the couch in his and Thea's old apartment, most of their stuff had already been moved to the Diggory family home but they still had a few nights left in their old apartment.
Thea had left earlier, saying she was going to visit someone but Elliot hadn't caught the name. He was nervous, during the war it wasn't safe for anyone to go alone but Thea had been gone before he was able to try and convince her not to go.
But that had been hours ago and now Elliot was trying to decide between going out and looking for Thea himself or notify an Order member and ask them for help.
However, it seemed like the decision was made for him as Kingsley Shaklebolt and Remus Lupin suddenly appeared in front of him.
"Have you seen Thea yet?" Kinglsey asked with such a sense of urgency, it was clear that there was something very wrong.
"No, I haven't. She left a few hours ago to go visit someone. What's going on? What has happened?" Elliot replied urgently.
"I sent Thea out on a mission to observe one of the well-known Death Eaters hideouts but no-one's heard anything from her."
"You did what!" Elliot shouted, jumping up and striding over to the man shaking with fury. "How could you! You sent her alone?"
"It was only a simple task and she assured me that she could handle it," Kingsley said. "But it looks like I might have been wrong."
"You might have been?" Elliot asked incredulously. "For all, we know she could be dead right now!" Elliot's panicked state was causing him to lash out.
"Ok, let's calm down here, yelling at each other isn't going to do anything." Remus Lupin added stepping in between the two. "Now we just need to go to where Thea was observing and start from there."
"Are you okay, Elliot? I am sorry." Kinglsey replied.
"Let's just go," Elliot replied rudely.
Thea didn't even know if she could scream anymore, her throat was red and raw, let alone take another round. However, she kept reminding herself of all the happy memories as often as possible as the pain ripped through her body once again.
The Death Eater laughed cruelly at her. "This is so fun, I could do this all day."
Somehow mustering a little bit of strength left, Thea replied, defiantly "As could I!"
Pain rushed through her body, as she struggled and writhed in pain.
Eventually, Thea ended up rolled over on her side, looking into a small dark puddle that shined in the moonlight and every time a curse left the man's wand. It had taken a while to work out that it was her own blood.
However, as another jolt of pain rushed through her body, a figure appeared out of the small pool of her own blood.
"Hold on, Thea. Help is on the way." The figure said. Thea blinked quickly trying to pull the figure back into focus.
"Just a little bit longer, Thea. Just breathe in and out, focus on me."
Finally, Thea's eyes adjusted to the figure in front of her revealing who it was. A slightly smaller figure of Cedric Diggory stood in front of her wearing the exact same clothes he was when he died.
"Ced?"
"Yes, it's me, Thea. Just hold on, help is coming."
"Help?"
"Yes, help."
Thea's eyes shut blocking out everything, she could hear yelling and spells being cast but she stayed in her own little world, struggling to keep a grip on her will to live.
