Chapter Eighty-Nine
Elliot appeared at the top of the stairs, looking over at the scene in front of him.
"Oh, it looks like I was interrupting something," Elliot replied awkwardly.
"Not at all, Elliot," Thea replied, beckoning him forward. "This is George and Fred, Elliot, have you guys met?"
"Briefly." Elliot quickly replied, watching as George's eyes darkened slightly in jealousy, all traces of his previous smile gone.
George had had a similar expression when during lunch, Molly had asked Thea and Elliot what it was like living together now. The two of them had shared stories that had had several people in stitches including the time Thea accidentally set the kitchen on fire while trying to cook dinner.
"But it's good to see you again, Elliot," Fred answered for both himself and his brother.
"What were you saying as you came up the stairs, Elliot?" Thea questioned looking over to her best friend.
"Oh, I was just saying that Kingsley has arrived, he wanted to talk to us about something."
"Ok, cool. I'll be down in a second." Thea said as Elliot turned and walked back down the stairs leaving Thea alone with the twins again.
"Stay safe, you two," Thea said, smiling.
"The same goes for you, Thea," George replied, seemingly having gotten over his jealousy suddenly.
"Bye!" Thea said before heading down the stairs after Elliot.
A smile lingered on George's face for a long time after talking with Thea again. Jealousy still ran through his veins every time when he saw Elliot, but George couldn't help it, he was still madly in love with the woman. Even though he knew that Thea and Elliot moving in together was only a safety precaution, George couldn't help but imagine that it was Thea that lived in the flat with him and Fred above the shop instead of with Elliot. But it was selfish thoughts, Thea was happy and even though the words she had told him when she broke up with him still pierced his heart every time he thought of them as well whenever he saw her upset, George couldn't deny it, Thea was happy after finally putting her brother's death behind her.
Thea quickly headed down the stairs, a smile also evident on her face. She found Elliot and Kinglsey sitting outside on a bench still in view from everyone inside but still at a distance where they would not be able to hear their discussion.
"Hello, Kinglsey! It's good to see you." Thea said upon approaching them.
"It's good to see you too, Thea. I just wish it was under better circumstances."
"What do you mean?"
"I'm afraid, I come bearing bad news especially for you, Thea."
Elliot and Thea shared a quick concerned look before focusing their attention back on Kingsley.
"Well, even though you now own the apartment you guys are staying in, Thea. It has become well-known to the Death Eaters that that is the residence of some of the most talented Aurors who they would love to get rid of. As much as I would love for you two both to stay, I insisted that you two move out immediately. Of course, you two could move into one of the houses of an Order member however, I think I have come up with a better alternative. I know it's asking for a lot, Thea but I was wondering if you would be willing to move back in your family home for the next few months."
Silence. That's all that greeting Kinglsey for a few moments until Thea and Elliot finally understood what he was asking of them.
"You are asking me to move back into my family home?" Thea asked.
"I am. The house is still owned by your parents, Thea and as it is very well known that they are both not in the best place mentally and are not currently staying in the residence."
Thea let out a small sound of anger from the back of her throat as Elliot asked his next question. "But wouldn't it become plain obvious if someone was to move back in?"
"Well, yes but as the home is in relative distance from not only the Burrow but away from other homes we will be able to put higher protective enchantments on her home other than that what we are able to right now with your apartment. Do you think the two of you could live with that for now? It will only be for a few more months, I'm not the only one who suspects this war will end in a final battle sometime soon, do you think you can live with that for a little bit longer."
"I think we can, Kinglsey." Elliot replied looking over to Thea.
"What about you, Thea?" Kinglsey asked her.
"I think we can manage for now."
"That's good, I'll make sure to make some arrangements."
"Also Kinglsey, can I have a quick chat with you?" Thea quickly asked. "Alone?"
"Of course."
Elliot looked towards Thea slightly suspiciously before turning away and heading back into the house.
"What did you need, Thea."
"I was wondering, I hate keeping a low profile and being cooped up all day. Is there anything that I can do to help the war effort."
"You make a valid point, Thea. There are a few things that I think you can do. But are you sure, Thea? It's not all fun and games."
"I'm sure, Kingsley. I can handle it."
