Chapter Eighty-Eight

The news that Remus and Tonks were expecting brought a lot of joy to Thea as the months passed.

She still hadn't heard much from anyone and was finding the whole thing of being cooped up in the housekeeping a low profile.

Muggle-borns were still being dragged in for questioning so they could prove their "magical lineage" and prove they weren't stealing magic. Most of them had gone on the run while some of them had been captured and killed, leaving the Wizarding World expecting waking to see another announcement of the death in their newspaper every morning.

However, after the creation of Potterwatch, it did give something to distract them as everyone looked forward to the next broadcast.

But it really wasn't enough so by the time Christmas came around it was truly a small miracle that the group was able to gather at the Burrow together at all.

It wouldn't be the same without Harry and the others but Ginny would be coming back from Hogwarts for the holidays in one piece, much to Molly's relief.

Thea was delighted when she was invited along, fully expecting that she and Elliot would be spending Christmas together eating anything they still had in the cupboards on the couch.

Not to mention she was excited to see Remus and Tonks again who was just beginning to show.

So in true Thea fashion, she showed up to the Burrow on December 25th, shaking like a leaf with excitement while Elliot stood behind her, slowing shaking his head with disappointment.

She was extremely happy to see all the Weasley family but especially Ginny who had pulled Thea into a tight hug the second she saw her.

"How are you, Gin?" Thea asked Ginny.

"I've been better."

"Oh, Ginny," Thea said pulling the girl back into another hug. "I've missed you so much."

"I've missed you too."

"But seriously, Ginny. Every time you leave me, you leave me with all these men and they never leave me alone." Thea said pointing to Elliot who stood near her talking with Remus as well as vaguely gesturing towards Fred and George who were watching her concerned or that could just be Ginny.

Christmas was always an enjoyable occasion but with recent times and the fear that their loved ones would get hurt, it seemed to be even more vital that this Christmas was a beacon of hope in the darkest of days.

But even as Thea sat on the couch with Tonks, Ginny, and Molly all of them excitedly talking about the baby. Tonks had quite the stomach and they could all tell that the baby was going to be a big one.

"So godmother, Thea? That must be exciting." Molly said smiling warmly at Thea.

"I am really excited," Thea responded.

"She hasn't shut up at it since she found out." Tonks chuckled.

"Well, I never did get the chance to be a big sister and all my cousins are older than me so I never got that experience," Thea said.

"Same with me." Ginny agreed. "Though I expect the baby will have no short supply of people to look after it."

"There's no experience quite like it." Molly agreed.

"Well, Remus and I are quite excited. He is worried about how his lycanthropy will affect the baby even though I don't care either way." Tonks whispered quietly to them. Thea reached over a gently put her hand on top of Tonks'. This was a discussion that Tonks and Thea had already had many a time as well as Thea being forced to knock some sense into Remus like she always did.

"I'm sure the baby will be just fine," Molly replied. "It's in Remus' nature to worry, after all."

Thea sat with the others for a little while occasionally contributing to the conversation however as Molly and Tonks began to discuss parenting techniques, Thea took as her cue to leave.

"Where are you going?" Ginny whispered urgently in Thea's ear. "Don't leave me, I don't know the first thing about parenting techques."

"I'm just going to the bathroom, I'll be back soon."

Thea quickly headed back upstairs, finding the bathroom in no time. She quickly did her business and washed her hands but as she stepped out of the bathroom into the hallway Thea found herself in trouble.

She tripped over the slightly elevated doorway falling out into the hallway, feeling all the oxygen go out of her lungs as she prepared herself for the impact, however, it didn't come.

Thea felt her hand being grabbed as she was slowly pulled to her feet. Her eyes flickered to the two people in front of her, her eyes widening slightly before she composed herself.

Fred and George stood in front of her, their eyes also widened clearly not expecting her to be literally falling out of their family bathroom. George's hand was still connected to Thea but as she quickly got to her feet, he quickly dropped it like it was made of electricity and Thea had to admit it stung a bit.

The air between the three of them was awkward, as all of them opened their mouths to say something before quickly shutting them.

"Well...um...thanks," Thea said, awkwardness leaking from every syllable.

"It's no problem, Thea," Fred replied, elbowing his twin in the ribs to get him to talk.

"Uh...how are you, guys? I've seen the shop, business really is booming, you guys must love it there. Had any more new products created lately?" Thea quickly said, words spilling out of her.

"You're rambling again." George finally said, looking straight into Thea's eyes with a smile. "You tend to do that a lot."

"I do, don't I?" Thea agreed all smiling towards George. "But in all honesty, it looks amazing, you guys must be proud of yourselves."

"Well, it's a dream come true," George replied as Fred grinned broadly from beside him. He had finally gotten the two of them to talk to each other again.

"I can only imagine." Thea said but she was interupptted by a newcomer.

"Thea! Are you up here? Kinglsey wants to talk to us!"
