ZANE
She did come, and she was quiet but a had a smile on her face for the time-being.
Dahm she looks good in that bikini...
I was watching her rise out the water, her hair dripping, looking at us on the deck chairs. Katelyn, Aphmau, Travis, Garroth, and Aaron were all swimming, but Laurence, Dante, and I were on the chairs.
Lucinda and Kim were at the barbecue, making hamburgers for everyone, as well as pouring fruit punch.
"Cannonball!" I heard Garroth shout from the other end of the pool. Aphmau was giggling and chasing him through the water, then Aaron hoisted her up by the waist and she sat on his shoulders, laughing as Aaron did most of the treading.
My eyes glanced to some bubbling water and Katelyn was screaming. I saw her dive under and reemerge with a limp Travis. She quickly placed him on the tile then unexpectedly, did CPR.
Travis woke up quicker than usual, then smirked.
"Wait, you pretended?"
"Well if it meant a free kiss, then yes."
"WHY YOU!"
And just like that she pulled him back in.
I couldn't help but snicker under my mask. Sure Travis was a pain, but he did know how to woo a girl.
Maybe...
...no Nana wouldn't like that.
"Zane? You aren't coming to swim?"
The Meif'wa was staring at me from the water.
"Oh um probably not."
"How come?" she said with a frown.
I couldn't help wit those amber eyes; they were like a sunset. After pulling off my shirt I got in to cheer her up.
We waded to the edge of the pool where we could talk with a little privacy.
"Feeling better from yesterday?"
"I guess, I just feel that I might be depressed."
"But you're always cheerful to me."
"I try, but you make it seem like I'm a stereotype again. Plus sometimes hits cake..." she mumbled that last sentence.
"It's fake! What if I am a stereotype? I feel all these emotions and I keep them to myself for remind that I am strong; and I will be."
"Kawaii~Chan."
"It's Nana. I want to be myself remember? I'm working on it."
"Yes, but when are you going to tell them?"
"When the time is right, I think. Zane, you don't need to worry when there's a whole army of you right on my tail, literally." she commented since her tail was grazing my thigh.
I blushed a little and said:
"You got a point, but it's my job to worry."
"All you need to worry about right now is if Katelyn is going to throw Travis over the fence."
I laughed a little and her eyes sparkled at my smile. My arm went around her and for some reason I pulled off my mask to give her a real smile.
Nana laughed more and threw her arms around me saying thank you.
I let out a small chuckle and leaned in.

KATELYN
"You little," I started.
Travis laughed.
"You gotta admit that was funny."
"It was for you. You got a free kiss in front of EVERYONE!"
"Speaking of kisses," he was glancing over my shoulder.
"Heeeyyyy! Look who's having a good time over there!" she was pointing to Zane and Kawaii~Chan who I'm pretty sure were kissing.
Aphmau started laughing then the two turned around faces red and clumsily blushing.
"Whoops." a red faced Kawaii~Chan answered.
We all laughed and swam for a few minutes. Once the party was over, everyone dried up with towels and packed up the leftovers. We all said goodbye and went to our separate houses.
"Feeling better?" I asked Kawaii~Chan on the walk back home.
"Yes, better than yesterday for sure."
I didn't want to ask question in case I was a bit pushy. However I wanted to make sure. She is my friend.
Once we both dried off and had showers at home, we were in comfy pyjamas sitting on the couch chatting for the last hour. We both went to bed in anticipation for the next day. After finishing a text from Travis I snuggled under the covers and fell into a heavy sleep.
