Ch.9 Introductions

I do not own anything except for the changes to the plot, my OCs, new jutsus... and I think that's about it. Everything else belong to Kishimoto and TV Tokyo.

Enjoy the chapter! :)

Yasuko's POV

I sighed, feeling a bit aggravated.

Sasuke left the classroom after telling me he had to go and grab his lunch since he had forgotten it at home. Sakura, being the loyal fangirl she is, followed Sasuke, wanting to join him for lunch. Naruto, having a crush on Sakura, followed her, hoping that if Sasuke rejected Sakura, she would go with him instead. Leaving me to eat my lunch alone.

I sighed and grabbed my bento with hand, placing my other on Ru's back. Together, we made our way around the Academy and stopped once we were in one of the outdoor training areas. There were many dummies in the area along with targets on the trees. Walking through the trees, I stopped in front of a fairly high one. It was probably 40 meters high and one of the older trees in the area.

I smiled and faced Ru. We stared at each other before he nodded his head and leaned down a bit. Slipping onto his back, I bent down, wrapping one arm around Ru's neck and the other holding tightly to the bento. I closed my eyes as I felt Ru placing his chakra to his hind legs. Tightening my grip, I laughed as with one mighty leap, Ru soared into the air and up onto one of the trees branches. Leaping up the branches, he stopped once we were on a sturdy branch near the top of the tree.

I carefully slid off of Ru's back, placing chakra onto my feet just in case. I pressed my back against the trunk and my lunch on my lap. Ru growled softly as he lay on his belly facing me.

I sighed, a blissful smile on my face as I watched the view from my place. I watched as villagers ran through the busy streets of Konoha, continuing their usual routines of the day. My gaze lifted to the sky where only the sun and couple of birds occupied.

Hearing another growl I giggled and lifted up the top layer of the bento revealing two pieces of juicy steak. I carefully placed it in front of Ru who bowed his head in thanks before eating. I smiled at my friend before opening the cover of the first layer of the bento. Inside the box was rice, tempura, octopus hotdogs, and rabbit shaped apples. Grinning at my work, I plucked the chopsticks that were taped onto the lid and ate my lunch.

My eyes sparkled as I ate and gave myself an imaginary pat on the back.

'Another bento success!'

Being only eight, I shouldn't know how to cook, but living with the Akatsuki, you need to know how or you won't survive. Out of all the Akatsuki, only Konan knew how to cook. The others' foods were inedible, poisoned, burnt, or we couldn't even define what it was. I swear that one of Kakuzu's meals actually moved once. Not wanting to risk their lives, they forced Hidan to sample the food to see if they were edible enough to eat, seeing as Konan would be out for a mission and Kakuzu wouldn't use his money to pay for take out. It was a good thing Hidan was immortal.

Papa was glad to know that I was able to cook since he only know how to make onigiri, dried tomatoes, and dango. Though he wasn't too fond of the idea of me being near a burning stove.

I sighed in content once I finished my food. Seeing as Ru was done as well, I placed everything back in their rightful place and just sat, relaxing into the moment of peace. I closed my eyes and remembered all the times that I would climb the trees outside the base with Deidara and Tobi, since they were the only ones who were willing to play with me besides Papa and just let me be the child I am.

I let the image fade away and looked up at the sky. From the position of the sun, it should be time to meet our new sensei.

Grabbing my now empty lunch, I leaped off the branch with Ru right beside me. A laughed as I felt the wind brush through my hair as I free fell towards the ground. Before landing, I placed chakra into my feet to break my fall. I landed gently without a scratch, but winced as I saw a small crater beneath my feet.

'Maybe I added too much chakra.'

I looked around and sensed that no one was here. Stepping out of the small crater, I nodded at Ru telling him that the coast was clear. I watched as Ru placed his paws on the ground near the crater. As if time itself was sent backwards, the crater was filled and grass covered the dirt patch. I grinned at my companion who held an air of smugness for a second. I giggled and smiled appreciatively at my friend.

Unlike many summoning animals and ninja hounds, Ru didn't need to combine his jutsus with me. We do have our own combinations, but Ru can easily manipulate the chakra in his body to perform jutsus without hand signs. It also helps that he can control the two elements that aren't my forte. My chakra natures are Fire, Water and Wind, while Ru's are Lightning, Water and Earth. If we were to perform jutsus that weren't of our chakra natures, it would consume more chakra and energy.

Making sure that everything was normal; Ru and I made our way back to Iruka's classroom. I hummed a little tune but stopped when I heard a thumping sound.

Cautiously, I placed an ear against the wall and followed the noise. I stopped in front of one of the empty classrooms of the Academy. With a hand against my weapons pouch, I slowly opened the door. When no threat popped up, I entered the room and searched for the source of the noise. My eyes widened when I saw familiar tuft of raven hair tied up on the ground.

Taking out a kunai, I ran towards Sasuke and cut off the restraints with Ru helping me. Once he was released, Sasuke stood up and looked to the side as he patted my head.

"Thanks, Hime." Sasuke muttered.

"No problem Sasuke-oji." I smiled, giggling a bit when I saw a small tint of pink on his cheeks.

Taking my hand in his, he led me out of the empty classroom and towards Iruka's. Along the way we stopped as we saw the other female member of our new team. I heard Sasuke mutter something under his breath before sighing and walking again, dragging me along.

"Sasuke-kun, you're such a shy guy!" Sakura squealed as we walked closer.

I stared at her like she grew two heads. What was she talking about? Looking up at Sasuke, I noticed that he must have been thinking the same.

"Are you emotionally prepared? I am," Sakura asked, "W-wait... Sasuke-kun?"

Sasuke simply ignored Sakura as we walked passed her. Stopping, Sasuke turned his head slightly and stared at Sakura.

"Where's Naruto?" Sasuke asked, though it sounded more like a demand.

"Changing the subject again? Forget about Naruto," Sakura said, "All he does is pick fights with you. It's probably because he's had such an irregular childhood. Oh yeah, you know he doesn't have parents, right?"

My eyes widened. I felt Sasuke's hand tighten around my own as Sakura continued to speak.

"He's always doing selfish things. My parents would scold me if I do such a things. If you were alone, your parents wouldn't get mad at you. That's' why he's so selfish."

I watched as Sasuke clenched his fists, I felt my eyes water as Sakura spoke. She doesn't know how it feels to live without parents. I looked at Sasuke and saw that his head was bowed, causing his bangs to cast a shadow over his eyes as he spoke.

"The solitude..." Sasuke muttered.

"What?" Sakura asked confused.

"You can't even compare it to the level where you parents get mad at you."

"What's the matter?"

"You're annoying." Sasuke turned to Sakura with narrowed eyes.

Sasuke tightened his hold on my hand as he turned and walked back towards Iruka's classroom. I glanced over my shoulder and saw Sakura. She stood frozen in place as we left her. I bit my lip, feeling a bit of guilt and pity for the older girl. Stopping slightly, I let go of Sasuke hand.

"I will meet with you soon. You go on ahead." I mumbled.

Sasuke stared at me for a second before nodding and continuing on his way. Turning around I ran to Sakura and gently took a hold of her hand.

"Haruno-san, please forgive Sasuke-oji, but you must understand that your words had a great affect on him. Naruto was not the only one who grew up without parents remember?" I watched as Sakura stared at me in confusion, "Do you not know, Haruno-san? Sasuke-oji does not have any parents as well. His whole clan is gone as well. I am all he has left from his family. Haruno-san, you have to understand, that in the ninja world, there are many people who wish to have the life you have, myself included. I grew up without a mother, Haruno-san. If it means being scolded everyday, I would rather have that, than the loneliness I have to suffer. Do not take things you have in your life for granted."

Without another word, I let go of her hand and walked back towards the classroom.

'She will never understand the solitude that we grew up with. Sasuke-oji lived alone since the massacre. No one was there to comfort or sympathize with him. Naruto never even met his parents. He grew up being hated and scorned or what he held within him. As for myself... I never had a normal childhood. I lived four years in secret and lived the rest in a criminal organization. Yes they became a family to me, but I grew up without the love of a mother and Papa would always have to go on missions, leaving me in the hands of the others. She has the life Sasuke-oji, Naruto-nii and I would die for. She has to learn... for the ninja world is not a place for the carefree to realm.'

As if reading my thought, I felt something nudge my hand and I turned, smiling at my friend who was trying to comfort me. I placed my hand on top of his head seeking the comfortable aura that he always seemed to have. "Thank you, Ru-kun."

With that, the two of us made our way to the classroom, surrounded by a comforting silence.

Time Skip – Hours Later

"He's late." Naruto muttered as he peeked his head through the doorway, searching the halls in hope to spot our sensei.

I raised my head off the table and mumbled some incoherent words. I sighed and rubbed my left eye as I yawned. It's been hours since all the sensei have picked up their assigned teams. The only sensei that hasn't arrived yet was our sensei. After an hour of waiting I fell asleep only to be awoken by Naruto.

"Naruto, why don't you sit still?" Sakura suggested.

Sasuke glared at Naruto for waking me up. He whispered calming words to try and coax me back to sleep. I sighed, shaking my head telling him that it was okay. I yawned a bit, still a bit sleepy, and leaned on Ru who sat beside me. I tuned Naruto out as I began to daydream.

I snapped out of it once I heard a clatter of noises. I turned to see Naruto standing on top of a chair, wedging a chalkboard eraser between the door and the frame. I sighed. Of course the troublemaker would want to prank our new sensei as revenge.

"It's his own fault for being late." Naruto defended.

"Geez, it's your own fault if you get in trouble." Sakura said.

"A jōnin isn't going to fall for a plain old booby trap like that." Sasuke scoffed.

I hid my face in the crook of Ru's neck trying to contain my laughter. Sasuke may be right, but if I am correct on whom our sensei would be, then he'd be too lazy to dodge Naruto's plain old booby trap.

We all turned to the door when we saw a gloved hand reach to open it. We all waited in anticipation to see who was our sensei and if they would fall for Naruto's trap. The door opened and the eraser fell on a familiar tuft of silver hair. The dust from the eraser dissipated into the air revealing the face of our new sensei. Or at least whatever his mask didn't cover.

"Hello Kakashi-oji, you are late." I greeted, a teasing smile on my face.

From living with him, I could tell he was smirking under his mask as he nodded at me.

I watched as Naruto pointed at Kakashi and laughed. "He fell for it! He fell for it!"

"Naruto-nii, it is rude to point." I scolded the still laughing blond.

"I'm sorry, sensei, I tried to stop him, but Naruto-kun didn't listen to me..." Sakura apologized.

Sasuke just sat there as he stared at Kakashi in disbelief. Probably wondering if he truly was a jōnin. Kakashi didn't say anything as he picked up the chalkboard eraser and placed it back where it was supposed to be. Kakashi grabbed his chin in thought as he looked up slightly.

"How should I saw this..." Kakashi said, "My first impression of you guys are... I hate you and you're idiots."

Everyone sweat dropped. Ru growled at the silver head jōnin while I sat there a bit hurt by his words. I whimpered a bit causing everyone's attention to turn to me.

"Even me, Kakashi-oji?" I whimpered as I looked at him with puppy eyes.

Kakashi's form tensed as his eyes met mine as he tried not to crack under my gaze. Wanting an apology, I forced myself to cry. Whimpering, I fisted my hands and tried to wipe away the tears. Ru helped me out by growling at Kakashi as he nuzzled his snout to me, making me wrap my arms around the tiger to comfort myself. At this point, I could sense the others glaring at Kakashi. Panicking, Kakashi ran up to my desk and lifted me up gently and hugged me.

"Okay, okay! I'm sorry! Just stop crying! I hate it when you cry Yasuko. Especially if it's my fault!" Kakashi said.

I stopped crying, and wiped away the tears as I looked at him.

"Do you mean it?" I asked.

Kakashi nodded making me smile. I wrapped my arms around his neck as he held me up in his arms. "Then you owe me dango for calling the team and I names and saying you hate us." Kakashi nodded to my request as he squeezed me a bit before placing me on my feet. Ru made his way to my side where I placed my hand on his head.

Sensing Kakashi's chakra's circulation change a bit, I placed my hand in his.

"Meet us on the roof." Making a hand sign, Kakashi transported himself, Ru and I onto the roof.

Seeing as the others won't be here for a while, I made myself comfortable by Kakashi's feet and played with Ru.

Once the others arrived, they sat themselves on the stairs in front of us, with Sakura on our left, Naruto on our right, and Sasuke in between the two.

"Let's see, why don't you introduce yourselves." Kakashi instructed.

"Introduce ourselves? What should we say?" Sakura asked.

"What you like, hate, your dreams, and hobbies. Something like that."

"Hey, hey. Why don't you introduce yourself first, Sensei." Naruto suggested.

"Me?" Kakashi said as he lazily pointed to himself, "I'm Hatake Kakashi. I have no intention of telling you my likes and dislikes. As for my dream.... I have a few hobbies."

I giggled as the others mumbled to themselves about Kakashi's introduction.

"Now it's your turn. You first, in the orange." Kakashi said.

Kakashi's POV

"I'm Uzumaki Naruto," Naruto introduced himself as he fiddled with his forehead protector, "I like cup ramen. But I like the ramen at Ichiraku that Iruka-sensei bought for me even more. I also like hanging out with Suko-chan. I hate the three minutes that I have to wait after I put the hot water. My hoppy is to eat and compare cup ramen! And my dream is to become greater than the Hokages! I'm going to make all the villagers recognize my existence."

I stared at the blonde in mild surprise but kept my expression impassive.

'I see. He grew up in an interesting way.'

"Okay, next." I said.

"I'm Haruno Sakura!" The pink headed kunoichi introduced, "I like... well, the person I like is..."

I raised an eyebrow as the girl took a discreet glance towards the raven-haired boy.

"And my hobby... well, my dream is to...." I mentally cringed as the girl squealed.

"And? What do you hate?" I said.

"Naruto!" Sakura growled out as said boy had a defeated look on his face.

'Girls her age must be more interested in love than ninja training.' I glanced down at Yasuko and if she sensed my stare she looked up at me and gave me a bright smile. 'Hopefully, Yasuko won't grow up like that.'

"The boy with the raven hair." I said a bit interested in young Uchiha.

"My name is Uchiha Sasuke," The ravenet said into his folded hands, "There are many things that I hate, and I only have one particular person that I like."

I saw the boy glance at Yasuko with a caring gaze. I smirked under my mask.

'It sees the Uchiha really does have a soft spot for Yasuko.'

"Also, I have an ambition that I have no intention to leave as just a dream. The revival of my clan, and to... kill a certain man."

'Just as I thought...'

Silence overcame the area. I narrowed my eyes as I felt the vengeful aura surround the boy. I glanced down at Yasuko and saw her threading her fingers through RU's fur, which I noticed was a way for her to comfort herself. I noticed her taking worried glances and biting her lower lip. Her warm silver and gold flacked onyx eyes held love towards her uncle, but pain and sadness knowing that the man her uncle wants to kill was her own father. I sighed.

'Yasuko's future is going to hold a lot of pain. Her own uncle wants to kill her father, her last living parent. When the time comes will she begin to hate Sasuke, or understand that her father's fate was written the day he massacred the Uchiha Clan?'

"Okay, Yasuko, you're up." I said, breaking the silence.

I glanced at Yasuko as she began to play with one of Ru's paw as she introduced herself.

"My name is Uchiha Yasuko. I like my family, Konoha, Ojiisan, Kakashi-oji, Sasuke-oji, many of the people I have met in Konoha, Ru-kun, everyone back at my other home, sweets, art, music, singing, training, and swordsmanship. I do not hate anything because I think hate is a really strong word. Although, I do dislike it when the people I love get hurt, bitter and sour food, when Papa goes away, being alone, and having to hurt the ones I love to protect them."

I raised an eyebrow at her last dislike. 'Did she have to go through that before?'

"My hobbies are drawing, training, singing and cooking. My dream for the future is to become a great kunoichi like Mama and to bring peace to the five great ninja nations."

We all stared shock at Yasuko as she finished. We all knew that she was one for all of those things, but what got us was her dream. For someone so young, her dream was something that many ninja thrive for, and wasn't thought of by someone her age. Not unless you knew the dangers and darkness that lay out in the world.

"Alright, you four have unique personalities. I like that. We're going to begin a mission starting on Monday. So you'll have the weekend off." I said.

"What kind of mission is that, sir?" Naruto saluted.

"First, we're going to do something that we five can do."

"What what what, what is it?

"Survival training."

"Survival training?"

"Why are we going to train when it's a mission?" Sakura questioned, "We had plenty of training at the Academy."

"This is no ordinary training." I pointed out.

"Then, then what kind of training is it?" Naruto asked.

I chuckled.

"Hey, what's so funny, Sensei?" Sakura inquired.

"Well, if I say this, I'm sure you four are going to be surprised." I replied.

I watched as they stared at me questionably. Glancing at Yasuko, I saw the small smirk that was playing on her lips.

'Did she already know?'

"Out of the 28 graduates," I began, "Only nine or ten are going to become genin. The other 18 or 19 will be sent back to the Academy. In other words, this training is going to be a very hard test with a dropout rate of 67%."

I watched as their expressions changed and smirked. "See? You three are surprised!"

"No way! I went through so much trouble... Then what was the final exam for?" Naruto panicked.

"That? It was just to pick out those who weren't qualified to become genin."

"What?!"

"Anyway, I'm going to determine whether you pass or fail on Monday at the training grounds. Bring your ninja equipment and meet at 5 AM! Now then, meeting over." I turned around, my back facing the genin. I held my hand out to Yasuko who gratefully took it, placing her other hand on top of Ru's head. I glanced over my shoulder as I remembered something. "Oh yeah, don't eat breakfast. You're going to throw up if you do."

With that, I made a hand sign and transported Yasuko, Ru and I to my house. Walking towards the house, all three of us held a smirk and air of mischief around us. Before we entered Yasuko said only one thing.

"You are evil, Kakashi-oji."
