Ruby

While I was eagerly waiting for my breakfast, the previous incident played in my mind which instantly brought a smile on my lips. Diana really freaked out when I raised my voice. But, I don't mean it to embarrass her but, tried to be friendly with her.

In no time, Diana brought me breakfast, which I ate super fast to fill my stomach. I can tolerate anything but not my empty stomach.

After that, I don't know what to do. I got freshened up. I wore a sea grean colour turtle neck T shirt with pair of jeans. I clipped my hair neatly with loose strands flowing on my shoulders. I applied nothing but baby powder on my face and lip balm on my lips. With that I left the room to just get to know about the Coroner's family to acquaint with them.

I was roaming around the mansion, but no one appeared except the servents and maids. By the time, I reached the garden, all my energy drained. There was a small round table surrounded with chairs, a hanging rock chair and to a side there were 2 swing chairs side by side. Instantly, my innerside became hyperactive. I wanted to swing but I have no energy to swing by myself. But still I sat in the left swing. Yahh, I always prefer left. Don't ask me the reason, I too don't know why. But from childhood, whenever I choose left, it becomes right, I mean suited me.

While I was in my world, the swing moved suddenly. I was jerked off from that. I got furious and looked at the person who behaved like a stupid. He frowned because of my instant reaction. But I am already lost, looking at him, into his eyes, I became speechless. He waved his hand before my face. I was embarrassed
and stood there without doing anything looking nowhere.

"This was mine. If you wanted to swing, you can use the other one, which was my sister's " he said showing the opposite one.

I don't know how to react to what he said, no complained like 5 year old, but 2 issues pinged in my mind, 1.he too like the left one, 2.He told me to swing in his sister's swing, the word which I absolutely hated now. Am I looking like a sister to him? No way, I am not going to accept it. Why?? My brain showed its existence now. Because I like him. My heart was not any lesser to show up what I am trying to ignore. I don't like him. I don't know what I feel for him, may be a crush like thing.

"Hello!! Where have you lost? " he asked.

"Ha..nothing.. oops... I am sorry..I don't know..... that it was yours.... " I was stammering like anything, I scolded myself in my mind for that.

"Hey chill,  I am just joking, you can swing, I am just kidding,   but still it was mine." he laughed which was audible to me like music.

"Ohh, its ok." I said but I don't want this conversation so I continued, "I am Ruby Jane, you can call me Ruby. "

He smiled like he remembered some joke and said, "I am Vinson Coroner. Everybody calls me Vinson, you can call me, Vinsy. "

"Vinsy", I tried to test, how it sounds from my mouth.

"Yahh, that's me" he voiced.

I smiled, but my intelligent brain again poked me, reminding me, "you can call me Vinsy"

"Why not everyone call you Vinsy but me? " I blurted out.

"Because I don't have a big heart like you to ask everyone to call me by nickname. " he stated, which I felt like mocking. But how did he know?

"Is eavesdropping your job? " I asked raising my eyebrows.

"No, I happened to be there accidentally, and of course you are loud enough to hear the whole mansion " he was exaggerating.

"I am not that much loud, I know and I don't like to be called as mam by the people of my age because I know how it felt to address mam and sir, everyone even if they are younger than me or those perverts who don't deserve respect, though its a part of job. " I went to my yesterday's life which taught me so many lessons.

"Ohhh, sorry if I made you remember anything bad. " he showed pity.

"Nope, I am very happy about my life, I have everything caring parents, best friends, good college, fun job....until yesterday. " I felt wetness on my cheeks remembering my friends and parents. Even though, its not a luxury a life but its a peaceful one.

"When are you going to your new college? " he was trying to change the topic.

"May be from tomorrow, if everything is good, actually, I don't know anyone here, to ask about the details." I said as a matter of fact.

"Now you know me, you can ask me anything you want, if you feel uncomfortable you can pass the message through your personal maid Diana. "

"Personal maid?? " My jaw might have touched the floor.

"Yahh, you are ok with her right? or is there any complaint?"

"No, no, no complaint. But what is the need for a personal maid, I can do my things, I am not that great queen or at least not old granny who needs someone 's help for everything. "

He laughed, "You are not old, I can see that, but you are our guest, it won't be good for us if we won't treat our guest as a queen, that's a blow on our prestige"

Ohh, I am flattered. I tried to hold my smile and blush though they were irresistant. I better divert him.

"Where are others of your family? "

"Already got bored of me? " he whined.

How came he.... okk I will stop for now.
"No, no, I didn't mean like that. Actually, I really don't know anybody here, I just arrived yesterday, I wanted to know about everyone at least by the lunch time, I already skipped sitting with all of you, at breakfast, with that fear only. I don't how to adress you, about your habits, to do's and don't do's, so I am worried. "

He chuckled, "Okk, now stop worrying, I will introduce you to everyone, all are busy now, preparing for the evening 's Reception"

"Reception ?"

"Yes, my sister, Miara's reception, whose marriage your parents attended the other day. "

"What about you? Don't you have any work? " I wondered what he was doing here when they have that much work.

"I am already busy in doing my work "

"What was your work? Here? "

He sighed, "My work is to give company to you, to the reception. "

I am confused and trying to understand what he was saying.

"Stop thinking that much, now come, we have to go somewhere. " he started to move.

"Where? "

"I am not going to kidnap you. "

"Then tell me where are we going."

"Do you have a dress for the evening?. " he hinted.

No, I have not braught any other dresses since I came here just to meet my parents. He interrupted me before, I recalled everything.

"Have you got it now? "

"Ha, but, what is the need of me in the party? I really don't like gatherings, that's the reason why I haven't attended the marriage in the first place. "

He got irritated by now, with my ranting, with a slightly raided voice he said, "Are you coming or not?"

"Yeah, of course, I will come" I mocked him.
