Chapter 19
JUNGKOOK'S POV
"I think I like you Jungkook."
My eyes widened. Did he just confess? Is this real?
He chuckled at my reaction and grabbed my hand. I was beyond shocked. Just when I thought I couldn't be more surprised, he looked at me and winked.
"So stay by my side, got it?" He continued.
My knees felt like jelly and my heart fluttered. It reminded me of the time we went to Sea Life Park. Is my Taehyung coming back?
We exited the elevator and left the hotel. No one knew who we were but we did receive a lot of awkward stares from people.
I felt nervous and scared. I feel uncomfortable when people look at me like I'm a weirdo, but I wasn't ashamed. If anything, I'm glad that I'm walking with the man I love.
Taehyung seemed to notice my nervousness. He gave my hand a quick squeeze, getting my attention.
"Kookie, are you okay?" He asked worriedly. "We can walk without holding hands."
I shook my head. "N-no. I'm fine." Curse my stuttering.
He laughed and released my hand, but I quickly grabbed it again.
"I said I'm fine hyung." I protested,
"Kookie. I don't want you to feel uncomfortable."
He released my hand again and wrapped his arm around my shoulder.
"Is this okay?" He asked.
I looked around and no one seemed to care. I nodded, sighing in relief.
"Taetae. It's not that I'm ashamed..."
"There's no need to explain Jungkook. I want this day to be enjoyable." He smiled down at me and I looked away to hide my blushing face.
We met a Korean couple who insisted that we have lunch at Duke's Restaurant. They gave us directions and we successfully found it.
When we arrived, the lady led us to our table with a view of the ocean. The menus were in different languages, including Korean. After ordering our meals, she gave us our drinks.
I looked out towards the ocean. "Wow. Isn't it beautiful?" I said, staring in awe.
"Yes you are."
My heart skipped a beat. I looked down and played with the napkin on my lap.
"Hyung, I was talking about the view."
"But you are the view."
Although I wasn't looking directly at him, I could see him smirking at me.
"Ya!" I yelled loud enough for only him to hear me. "Why are you acting this way?"
He raised an eyebrow. "Why? You don't like it."
"I don't." I glared.
He laughed, leaning back into his chair. "I'm just playing with you Kookie."
I pouted, earning a small chuckle from my hyung.
"For someone who doesn't like it, you sure seem disappointed." He teased.
I rolled my eyes. Our waitress came back with our food. It was surprisingly fast.
I started to chow down my food. Taehyung watched me, ignoring his meal in front of him.
I finally looked up, wiping my face with my napkin.
"What are you looking at?" I sneered.
"You have a little something." He smiled, leaning closer to me. I felt my face heat up as we wiped away the ketchup from my cheek and lick his thumb.
"Got it." He smirked.
I picked up a chip from his plate and ate it.
"Hey! That's my nacho!" He scolded.
I stole another one that was coated with cheese and wiggled it in front of his face. "Oooooops." I popped it into my mouth.
He reached over the table and stole one of my fries.
"Hey!" I yelled.
He chewed it slowly, teasing me. The waitress came back with refills, giggling at us.
"You two are the cutest things, you know that?" She smiled.
I blushed and continued to eat, hiding my face with embarrassment.
Taehyung smiled back. "I guess I'm a lucky guy."
"Indeed you are." She said, putting the bill onto the table. "When you are finished with your meal, take this and pay at the front."
We nodded and she walked away.
"I got it." Taehyung insisted, reaching for the bill.
"No, I got it!" I said pulling it away from him.
He glared at me. "You're a stubborn one, you know that?"
I stuck out my tongue at him. We finished our meals and payed the bill. I took his hand and he looked down at me confused.
"But Kookie... Aren't you ner-"
"No hyung. I like this better." I smiled.
People continued to give us weird looks, but I learned to ignore it. Taehyung walked like no one was staring at us. If he doesn't care, then neither should I.
We stopped at a nearby ice cream shop. Taehyung paid for it this time.
"I guess the old Taehyung had a lot of money." He said pulling out the wallet filled with cash.
"Don't you feel like your stealing?" I questioned.
He shook his head. "It's mine right?"
He was right, but it still felt like I was walking with a stranger at times. How can he be so nonchalant about it?
We walked down to the Waikiki Wall, where body boarders would jump off and into the water, then paddle out to the breaking waves.
We sat at the edge with our feets dangling, watching the waves slap against the wall.
"Taehyung?"
He hummed in response as he was licking his ice cream.
"Do you remember anything about me?" I asked.
He paused and looked over at me. I licked my ice cream to distract myself from the beautiful creature observing me.
"Remember when I blacked out?"
I nodded, still engulfing my ice cream.
"I remembered my old doctor telling me I had brain cancer. I was heartbroken, but not because of the bad news... But because it meant that I had to leave someone who was very special to me behind." He explained.
I stopped licking the ice cream and looked at him.
"Who's that someone?" I asked.
"Jhope."
My eyes widened. I nearly dropped my ice cream when he told me that. "What?!" I gasped.
He laughed hysterically. "I'm just kidding Kookie. You should have seen your face."
I pouted and nudged him. "That wasn't funny hyung."
I turned away from him, looking else where. I felt hands wrap around my waist. I shivered and turned my head to see him rested on my shoulder.
"I believe it was you Jungkook." He whispered into my ear.
I let my head rest onto his. "I truly love you Taehyung." I bit my lip at my sudden confessession.
I regreted it instantly when I suddenly felt the warmness disappear as he pulled away from me. I looked at him confused. His eyes were saddened.
"Hyung? What's wrong?" I asked stupidly.
"I can't be the same Taehyung from before." He admitted, continuing to eat his ice cream.
"It's okay. You don't have to be."
He stopped. "But I have different feelings."
Pain shot through my chest. Where is this going?
We both finished our ice creams and stared into the distance.
"This necklace." He held up the shark tooth necklace that was around his neck. "You said you had to tell me something about it."
I nodded. "I gave that necklace to you the day I confessed. The lady who I received it from told me to give it to the person I love." I turned to him and smiled. "So I gave it to you. I have one too."
He sighed. "You know I like you, right Jungkook?"
I nodded slowly. "But you like someone else too... Don't you?"
He looked down at his feet, watching as the ocean water splashed it while the wave slammed against the wall. After what seemed like a lifetime, he nodded.
I gasped on the inside, but I saw it coming. "Is it Jhope hyung?"
He nodded again. "I'm sorry Jungkook. I'm really trying to be that guy who fell in love with you before. Inside me, I can feel that love... But it's also killing me."
Tears poured out from his eyes. "But when I'm with Hoseok hyung, I feel happy, but then I remember you."
I couldn't take this anymore. I stood up but he grabbed my hand. "Jungkook. I'm really sorry. I don't know what to do."
I turned to him and forced a smile.
"It's okay Taehyung. I'm fine." I lied. "I think we should head back to the hotel now. I still have to teach you the lyrics."
He nodded his head and we walked back. We continued to hold hands but it didn't feel the same.
It's like walking with your boyfriend and knowing he loves someone else. It's the worst feeling in the world.
.
.
.
We arrived at the hotel and exited the elevator. When we came out, Jhope exited the elevator beside us.
"Hopie?" Taehyung raised a brow.
"Ah! If it isn't the Vkook couple." He smiled brightly at us.
Jhope was carrying a bouquet of flowers and chocolate.
"What's that?" I asked.
He smiled shyly and smelt the flowers.
"It's for someone." He answered.
"Hope hyung. Can I talk to you?" Taehyung asked.
"Sure."
I took that as my cue to leave. "I'll be in my room. See you later!"
I waved goodbye and closed the door behind me. I plopped onto my bed, face in the pillow and cried my eyes out.
"Hyung!" I cried out into my pillow. "Taetae! Come back! Come back!"
I grabbed my phone and scrolled through our pictures together. Back when we were happy. Back when he protected me from getting hurt. Now the memory of us haunts me. Who knew that my perfect dream could be my worse nightmare.
I stopped at one picture. This was the day I wanted to pack up and leave. I wanted to give up on my dream as a singer because I was frustrated and homesick. . The day he didn't give up on me and encouraged me to stay. This was the day I fell in love with Taehyung.
"I won't give up on you." I smiled, thumb rubbing against the screen. "I promise."

TAEHYUNG'S POV
Jungkook left to his room and I was finally alone with Jhope. I sighed at the sight of him walking away.
"You said you wanted to ask me something?" Jhope questioned.
I coughed and cleared my throat. "Hyung, what are your feelings towards me?"
He shrugged. "Like a little brother. Your my dongsaeng."
I frowned. "Nothing more?"
His eyes drifted around the room until he figured out what I was asking. "Taehyung-ah! Don't tell me..."
"I think might like you Hope hyung."
He shook his head. "Not again."
I looked up in confusement. "What do you mean... Again?"
"You've had feelings for me before Taehyung. You said you feel happy around me and comfortable."
I nodded. "Yes! That's exactly how I feel."
He sighed. "I accepted your confession, but not long after we went out.. We knew it wasn't anything but friendship."
I frowned. "What do you mean?"
"Who is it that makes you want to be a better person?"
I pondered the question. "I guess it would be Jungkook."
"Who is it that makes you feel tingly inside?" Jhope asked another question.
"J-Jungkook."
"Who is that makes you stay, even though you're frustrated with everyone and everything?"
I sighed. "Jungkook."
"And who is it that makes you want to find the true meaning of love?"
"Yeah yeah, I get it. It's Jungkook."
Jhope smiled. "That's your soulmate Taehyung-ah. I'm just your best friend." He giggled. "We even kissed, but there was no spark. Just awkwardness!"
"We kissed?!" I gasped.
He nodded. "Nothing big. We were in a show. The real thing is when you kiss someone and there's nothing but spark."
I hugged him, saying "thank you hyung" but he pushed away.
"Hey hey hey! Don't crush the flowers." He fixed the petals that had been crushed between us.
I laughed. "By the way, who are those for?"
"Jimin." Jhope smiled.
"Jimin?!"
He nodded giggling. "I'm pranking him. I telling him these are from Jungkook and the maknae accepts his love. That way, you don't need to worry about Jungkook ever again."
I growled at the idea. I must have looked pretty angry because Jhope started laughing at me.
"I'm messing with you V!" He nudged me. "Jeez. How can you not know your feelings for Jungkook but still hate the fact of someone else taking him"
I thought about that. "You're right. See! I can always count on you."
He laughed. "It's not that I'm always right. It's just that your stupid."
"Hey! I'm not stupid." I retorted.
He ruffled my hair and pushed me to my door. "Now go! I have a prank to set up."
"Wait!" I stopped him. "Are you really playing that prank on him?"
He shook his head. "Calm your horses Taehyung. Jimin is allergic to these flowers and he doesn't like this type of chocolate. That's all."
Now I look stupid. "Okay, bye hyung."
I opened the door and found Jungkook sitting on the table on with his laptop.
"Kookie?"
He looked at me with red eyes. "Ah. You're back already?"
I nodded, observing his face.
"Have you been crying?"
He shook his head. "No. I'm just tired."
I know he's lying. I'm sure I'm the reason why he's in so much pain.
"Shall we begin our lesson?" Jungkook asked, scrolling through the lyrics folder.
I learned it faster than I expected. Jungkook seemed a little surprise too. Jin came in and told us were having dinner soon.
As I waited for Jungkook to finish showering, I laid on my bed and played with my phone, staring at the locked screen.
Should I accept my feelings for Jungkook or not? What if I'm not able to love him the way that I use to? What if I'm never able to remember him?
Absentmindedly, I typed "Jungkook" into my phone. Suddenly, my phone unlocked and my jaw dropped in shock.
There, on the home screen, was a picture of Jungkook and I kissing. We were on the balcony with the sunset behind us.
I remember this.
It was right after Jungkook and I fought about how jealous I was with him and Jimin being together and he was jealous of Jhope. He told me about how I never gave up on him and how he will never give up on me.
I smiled brightly at him and kissed him passionately. I pulled away to take a photo of us, and he gave me a peck on the lips. That's when I snapped the picture.
After we finished apologizing, the storm clouds rolled in. We headed back inside and then-
My train of thought was caught off when I heard Jungkook call out to me that it was my turn to get ready.
We got dressed and met the others in the lobby. We ate at a buffet restaurant surrounded by a Japanese garden style scenery.
I finished sooner than the others and excused myself. I walked out into the garden like area with the miniature waterfall.
I looked over the rail, watching the fish swim around.
"Saved your life!" Someone yelled, grabbing onto me and shaking me as if I was going to fall in.
"Ya!" I yelled back, hitting the person behind me.
It was Jimin.
"I scared you!" He laughed.
"Not funny." I pouted.
"It sure was funny to me." He teased.
We found a bench on the side and sat beside each other.
"Taehyung, you may not remember me but we use to be really close friends."
I rolled my eyes. "Then why do you keep taking Jungkook from me?" I questioned.
He smirked. "I admit it. I have a thing for the maknae, he's just so darn cute."
I glared at him. "Is there suppose to be a point to this or are you here to make me mad?"
He smiled and leaned onto me. "Don't worry Tae. Jungkook will and forever be yours. He doesn't like me the way he likes you."
I smiled to myself. "Then why do you keep trying?"
He shrugged. "It's fun. And I can use it against Jhope."
I furrowed my eyebrows. "What about Jhope hyung?"
"I know he likes me so I make him jealous by fawning over Jungkook. It's a love cycle."
He pushed him lightly. "I'm sorry Jimin." I apologized.
"Sorry for what?"
"I actually hated you from the moment I saw how close you were to Jungkook. I don't know why. I don't even know my full feeling for him yet."
Jimin giggled. "It's okay Tae! I've actually hated you for a long time too. You took Jungkook from me."
I smiled. "Your not getting him back, you know that?" I teased.
"I don't know. I like playing games."
Jimin and I talked a while. I asked him what the rash was on his arm and he told me about the prank Jhope pulled on him, saying it was from a fan. We laughed about some past memeories i was able to remember before he headed back to mess with Jhope.
I walked over to the waterfall and observed the water trickle down.
"Boo!" Someone yelled.
I jumped, almost falling over. "Ya! Jimin if you-"
I turned to see Jungkook standing in front of me. "Oh Kookie. It's you."
I looked down shyly.
"What were you saying about Jimin?" He questioned.
"He scared me earlier. It was nothing."
Jungkook nodded and handed me something.
"What's this?"
He looked at me smiling, "Fish food. Namjoon was bringing you and Jimin your containers but he tripped and spilt it on the way. So we can share mine."
I laughed. "He really does destroy everything, doesn't he?"
Jungkook nodded. He split the fish food, distributing it into our hands.
We watched as the coy fish flopped around, fighting for the food. We then heard a loud pitched screech and turned to see Jin gripping onto Namjoon.
"Don't you dare!" Jin scolded.
Suga was catching one of the smaller fishes and trying to throw it at Jin who was climbing onto Namjoon.
"Get off me babe!" Namjoon yelled.
We exchanged shocked expressions. "Babe?!"
Jin didn't have anytime to explain, as Suga finally caught a smaller fish and tossed it onto Jin.
The fish hit the older's back causing him to freak out.
"Namjoonie! This is all your fault!" He scolded hitting him on the chest.
"My fault?! Suga is the one who threw it at you!" Rapmon yelled back.
Suga turned to see Jhope and Jimin standing nearby.
"No!" They both yelled and escaped back into the restaurant.
"You guys are no fun." Suga frowned and headed to the bathroom to wash his hands.
I pulled Jungkook away from the others and towards the waterfall.
"Jungkook. There's something I want to tell you."
He looked at me, confused.
"I don't like Jhope. It was nothing more than a friendship. You're the one who makes me stay and find the real me."
He blushed and tried to look away but I cupped his face between my hands.
"I really, truly am.. Falling for you Jungkook." I confessed. "I know i've hurt you, I'm sure, a million times... But I think this is real. You're real."
I leaned forward. "This is real."
He closed his eyes as I began to close the gap between us. Just as I was about to kiss him, someone jumped out of the bush.
"ROOOOAAAAAAR!!"
Jungkook and I screamed as two small fishes were flown at us.
"Suga!" I yelled.
He was laughing so hard, he crossed his legs to prevent himself from peeing.
"You two are so easy!" He laughed.
I growled and Namjoon came to retrieve us. "C'mon love birds. It's time for dessert and then we're leaving."
We stepped over Suga hyung who was laying on the ground laughing.
Cockblocker, I heard Jungkook whisper to his hyung laying on the floor.
I grinned.
"So Rapmon hyung, are you and Jin together or what?" I smirked.
"It's none of your business." He sneered.
I winked at Jungkook.
"NAMJOON AND SEOKJIN SITTING IN A TREE! K-I-S-S-I-N-G!"
"Come here you-"
He chased us into the restaurant and we hid behind Jin.
"Jin Omma!" Jungkook whined. "He's trying to hit us!"
"Not true! They're teasing us about our relationship!" Namjoon argued.
"So it is a relationship!" I yelled out.
"Waaaaah! Congratulations Namjin couple!" Jhope cheered.
"Someone delete his Instagram." Jimin commented.
"You are not hitting our kids!" Jin scolded. "Now sit down, behave, and eat your ice creams."
After all the members replied a "yes" in unison and sat in the restaurant, we finished our desserts. Later we returned to the hotel and changed into sleep clothes.
"I'm exhausted." I exhaled a deep grunt as I kicked off my shoes.
Jungkook made a movement and I quickly backed up.
He chuckled. "Don't worry. I wasn't going to tickle you. I was going to massage your feet"
I laughed in embarrassment. "Oh."
I moved over on my bed and he sat at the corner, picking up my right foot.
"You don't have to Kookie." I told him.
He began to massage my foot and I let out a deep groan. He giggled.
"I know I don't have to.. But I want to." He replied. "You took care of my foot when I was injured. I might as well repay you."
I smirked. "The sea urchin."
He looked at me shocked. I shrugged. "Guess I'm remembering."
Jungkook smiled at me and passed me the remote, telling me to turn on something.
I flipped through the channels and found Mnet Countdown.
"Is that us?" I questioned pointing at the TV.
It was a Halloween special and the mission was to take a picture that resembled the category we withdrew from the strips of paper.
He looked over at the screen and laughed. "I remember that."
It showed a clip of us cheating, searching through the papers and picking which category we wanted.
I laughed as we chose to do bizzare. Rapmon hyung and I were the only ones who made goofy faces while Jungkook made a cute one.
"Hey!" I nudged him with my free foot. "You didn't make a silly face!"
"I have to live up to my evil maknae ways." He joked.
I continued to watch Mnet Countdown. When it was our performance time, I stared in awe. I looked so cool.
Jungkook started to work on my other foot... I started to drift off.
I snuggled into my pillow and slowly fell asleep.

JUNGKOOK'S POV
I massaged Taehyung's foot until he fell asleep. He looked so sweet and innocent.
I tucked him in, putting the blanket over him and pecking a kiss on his forehead.
I turn off the tv and lamp before falling.
It was about 3 hours later when I woke to someone whimpering. I turned on the bedside lamp and adjusted my eyes to the light.
I looked over to find Taehyung tossing and turning, kicking in his sleep.
He was crying and mumbling.
"No. No! No! NO! HELP!"
I walked over and shook him. "Taehyung! Wake up!"
His eyes shot open and he jumped into my arms.
"Kookie! I had the worst nightmare." He cried into my chest.
I held onto him, pulling him closer to me. I stroked his hair with my free hand. "It was just a dream. Don't worry."
He pulled away and I looked into his teary eyes. "It wasn't a dream."
I looked at him confused. "What was it?"
"It was the day I drowned. The day I lost my memory." He started to cry again. "I was under water being dragged by the surfboard. I wanted to call out for help but I couldn't!"
I pulled him in for another hug. "It's over Taetae! It's all over. It's okay."
He hugged me back. We sat there for a couple of minutes before pulling away.
"Do you..uh.. Want me to sleep with you? You know, to make sure you're okay." I asked hesitantly.
He smiled at me and nodded. "Please."
I grabbed my pillows from my bed and laid beside him. He pulled the blanket over us and I pulled him close to me.
"Thank you Kookie." His voice was muffled as he nuzzled into the crook of my neck.
I smiled and ran my fingers gently through his hair. Can we just stay like this forever?
