And thus, DIO was stopped once and for all.
But heavy sacrifices had to be made along the way:
Muhammad Avdol, an Egyptian fortune teller, was killed by Vanilla Ice's stand 'Cream' in an effort to save the friends he had come to know from his power.
Iggy, a Boston Terrier with an unbreakable will, was kicked to death by Vanilla Ice during their encounter and expended the last of his life to save his friend from complete eradication.
Noriaki Kakyoin, a Japanese high schooler, gave his life so that the secret of The World could be revealed, and ultimately so that DIO could be killed.
It is with those sacrifices that the mad tyranny of DIO had been ended, and they shall never be forgotten by those who cherished them and fought alongside them.
(Now to my own writing)
Jotaro stared out the airplane window longingly. Joseph snored loudly from next to him, making the teen sigh as he shut his eyes briefly. He opened them again to find himself looking at the inside pocket of his jacket. He reached his hand in and pulled out a square white sheet.
A photo.
Jotaro stood next to Kakyoin almost back-to-back. Avdol stood next to the two as Polnareff was crouched down in front of them next to Joseph, who held Iggy in his lap. Jotaro wanted to smile, or crack a small grin, he felt like it, he did. But he couldn't bring himself to it.
He wouldn't say it, but he missed them. He already missed Polnareff's annoying banter and obnoxious voice. Even though Polnareff was only in France for now, it would still be a bit strange without him. He was hurt a bit, knowing how much Joseph must miss Avdol, and how hard he must be trying to hide it. Joseph said they knew each other for... what? 5 years?
Jotaro never really got to know Avdol, but it would be strange without his knowledge-filled brain not pointing everything out.
He wasn't sure about Iggy, the dog never really liked him. Though, he knew that Polnareff was probably sobbing about Iggy as they speak. That little hell-raiser, he would've said he was glad he was gone, but he didn't mean it like that. The way Iggy passed was tragic, and they all knew Iggy had a heart somewhere, Polnareff was the only one to witness it.
And Kakyoin. God, Jotaro hasn't even talked to anybody ever since he found out. He knew the second a word threatened to come out of his mouth he could easily break down into tears. And he would never, ever, cry in front of another person. Maybe the 7-year-old him, but not this one. Jotaro was tough, he was strong, both physical and emotional.
Or that's what people thought.
Jotaro was indeed very strong physically, yes, but emotionally? When it came to Kakyoin? No.
Jotaro was very calm and collected after learning about his mother and her stand. He never shed a tear. He never really had many second thoughts about it. But he couldn't let his only parent die. He cared for his mother; he just didn't really show it.
Star Platinum did though.
Star Platinum would sometimes come out subconsciously. Normally, stands wouldn't really be able to do that, but Star Platinum was a very advanced stand, ever since the beginning in that jail cell, where Jotaro believed Star to be an 'Evil Spirit'.
It was funny now that he thought of it. Star Platinum in that moment brought him everything he wanted, and he labeled him as 'Evil'.
He won't admit it, but he did once maybe probably possibly privately definitely apologize to Star Platinum. He wasn't surprised when the only response he got was a sympathy "Ora".
As soon as Jotaro got back to his house, and his room with his futon and his personal comforting's, there was no doubt he would break into tears. And he was kind of looking forward to it. Ever since Egypt, he's felt the unbearing urge to just break down. He wanted to be alone with nothing but himself and his thoughts.
He had yet to have the opportunity.
Jotaro flinched when he felt a drop on his hand. He looked down at his fist that he was leaning on, to see a small drop of water. He wiped his eyes to just realize he had been crying. He looked back at Joseph to see him still snoring obnoxiously. He let out a small sigh of relief.
Jotaro stared at the photo a little while longer until he put it back in his pocket where it would be safe, and he slowly drifted off to sleep, the memories of Egypt engraved in his mind.

Jotaro startled awake to violent shaking.
"Get up ya' big log!" Joseph shouted at Jotaro. "The plane landed. I'm sure you got your precious beauty sleep," Joseph laughed as he put his hand on his hips.
Jotaro grumbled and got up. He patted his jacket to make sure the photo was still there; it was. He felt more relaxed knowing his belongings were safe. They didn't really bring much to Egypt, so they didn't really have much to bring back. Joseph didn't want to be suspicious, to he bought suitcases and filled them with weights. The flight attendants didn't really care much after they saw all that was in their bags were weights, and they somehow got by.
Jotaro placed his hat in the bucket that sat on the belt. They were getting ready to leave through security. They were asked to be checked anyway, I mean, two really buff dudes at an airport with nothing but weights in their suitcases might raise only a slight suspicion to the police, don't you think?
"Wow," Joseph chuckled, "I don't think I've ever seen you with your hat off."
Jotaro grumbled a "shut up" to Joseph as he weirdly began to feel slightly self-conscious about his hair. He knew if Kakyoin were there, he would probably be talking about how cool it is, knowing how to read Jotaro like an open book.
That's how it's always been between those two. Kakyoin was the type of person who would only need to know someone for a very short amount of time to be able to easily empathize with them. Jotaro knew it was hard for Kakyoin, having to empathize with people who couldn't in return. He felt bad, for that reason, because of stands and everything. But it seemed Kakyoin almost had fun empathizing with Jotaro since Jotaro could return the favor at any time. They were peas in a pod.
For any random onlooker, this looked like any classic love story.
But, it wasn't as simple as that.
Having stands, and never being able to relax for even a day without running into an enemy, they didn't have time to settle down and find love. Polnareff maybe, but not Jotaro.
There was just too much going on. How do you expect someone to recover so quickly after everything that happened in Egypt? You can't. You just can't expect that.
Joseph patted Jotaro on the back harshly to catch the teen's attention. "Our Taxi's here," Joseph said, his eyes squinting in concern. "you've been spacing out a lot. Is everything okay?"
An image of Kakyoin's lifeless body flashed through his mind. He did not reply and just threw his suitcase into the trunk of the Taxi, climbing into the backseat, Joseph hesitantly doing the same.
Joseph knew Jotaro, they got to know each other quite well in Egypt. 50 days of constantly seeing and talking to each other, that can bring people quite close quite fast.
Joseph knew this wasn't the same Jotaro as before. Something had changed. But what had changed? And who had changed it? The thoughts bugged Joseph constantly and he couldn't get his mind off it. Joseph was indeed devastated about their losses as well. Avdol... Iggy... Kakyoin... Joseph couldn't help but think about Caesar, he chuckled, thinking about the two young troublemakers. He remembered the time Caesar found his outfit from that time he tried to dress up as a girl. With a lot of tequila. That was a very embarrassing time. Maybe they're with Caesar now, Avdol and Iggy and Kakyoin, maybe they're telling Caesar stories about their adventure. It was calming to think these thoughts. That everyone was happy and in a good place.
The Taxi arrived at their hotel, it was a connector flight, which means their next flight would be tomorrow. They were in Pakistan for the time being, about in the middle of Egypt and Japan. The second flight would be a bit longer than the first.
"Separate rooms or do you want to share?" Joseph asked Jotaro, jingling two keys in his hands.
"Separate," Jotaro answered quickly without hesitation, maybe a little too quick. Joseph chuckled nervously as he continued to talk to the employee. Jotaro really needed to be alone right now.
"From what it looks like, there might be a storm tomorrow," Joseph leans as he looks out the window, staring at the dark and gloomy clouds. The high winds made the clouds move fast throughout the sky, there seemed to be no end to the almost pitch black abyss of clouds, it cast an unneeded extra layer of sadness over Jotaro. It was a weird thing about Jotaro that really only Kakyoin and maybe Holly knew, the weather affected his mood. If it was cloudy or rainy, he would be quiet, and tired, maybe a bit gloomy. Sunny days would vary, sometimes Jotaro would hate the sun. Jotaro's favorite weather conditions were just the right amount of clouds to emit enough natural sunlight, but not enough sun to blind you every time you went outside.
Jotaro found storms comforting and fascinating. So when Joseph mentioned a storm, he got a bit excited.
"Well," Joseph took his hotel keys from his pocket. "my room's here, yours is only a few down, tomorrow morning at 9 AM, come to my room and check with me about the weather, there might be a delay, the storm looks bad."
Jotaro nodded and walked further down the hall, scanning the numbers on the sides of the doors for his number. He fumbled for the keys and finally entered his room. It was a single King bed, quite spacious compared to his room back at home. It was weird not sleeping in a futon, but normal beds were very comfy in Jotaro's opinion.
Jotaro then got ready for bed. He took a shower and laid out his clothes for tomorrow. He brushed his teeth and got changed into some pajamas he and Joseph bought at a nearby store close to the hotel. They were pretty cheap and not that comfy, but it'll have to do.
He climbed under the strangely comfortable sheets and turned on the small TV that laid in front of the bed. He placed the remote back on the side table next to the bed. He paused and stared at the phone that sat on the table.
'Maybe I should check in... See how she's doing... No. I'll see her soon anyway.'
Jotaro pulled his hand away and continued to watch some weird cop shows on TV. His thoughts drifted to many places. Holly, Egypt, DIO, Joseph, Japan, School, but his mind only settled on one thing.
Kakyoin.
Images of the boy flew through his mind like a movie montage. His cherry-red hair flowing through the air of the cold desert night. The calming face of Kakyoin staring at the stars and the milky way. The white scarf that drifted and fluttered in the wind behind the boy as it laid fashionably around his neck.
Jotaro blinked to find his vision blurry and distorted. Of course he had been crying. He wasn't surprised, he needed it.
Jotaro had to admit, he knew he grew some sort of feelings for Kakyoin in Egypt, but he never had the time to think about it and discover what they really meant. But whenever Kakyoin's smile appeared in Jotaro's head, or whenever Kakyoin's laugh echoed through his ears, his stomach always twisted with butterflies.
Jotaro didn't particularly have experience with feelings, or love. And everybody knew that, Jotaro was this big guy, who never seemed to want anything to do with anyone.
Kakyoin was the only person he felt he could tolerate. The only person he actually wanted to spend time with. The person he cared for, and still wanted to care for. The person he wanted to hold in his arms. The person he could never see again, because he wasn't there.
Jotaro tore himself up over it. He blamed himself over and over again. He says he could've stopped it, he could've saved Kakyoin if he got there in time; if he stopped DIO faster; if he got there before Kakyoin could be too reckless; if they found out the power of DIO's stand before Kakyoin had to sacrifice himself to do so.
The TV blared in the background, but to Jotaro's desperate and heartbroken sobs, it was nothing close to background noise.
He missed him.
He missed Kakyoin.
