Prologue
3rd person POV:
The Jackson family had just gotten to their house outside Camp Half-Blood after a long day at the beach and visiting Percy's mom. One-year-old Lily lay fast asleep in her father's arms. She had his smile and beautiful blue-green eyes. Everything else was Annabeth's. Once inside the house, Annabeth took the baby while Percy went up to get a shower.
Annabeth went upstairs to Lily's bedroom and put her down in her crib and kissed her forehead. "Goodnight sweetie." She said. Before leaving the room, Annabeth turned on the baby monitor on.
Annabeth got to her room and found Percy sound asleep on the bed wearing nothing but his boxers. She got undressed and got in the shower. The soft warm water washed away the tenseness of her muscles. Then she put on her pajamas and climbed into bed next to her husband. She fell asleep almost instantly.
At around three am, Percy and Annabeth woke up to a fuss. It was Lily's crying coming from the baby monitor speaker. Percy volunteered to go check on her. He rushed up to Lily's room and found her fast asleep. "Must've mixed frequencies." He muttered to himself, leaving his daughter's room.
"She's fast asleep and perfectly okay." He reassured Annabeth.
"Mmhmm." She nodded, falling right back to sleep.
The next morning, while Annabeth fixed breakfast, Percy went up to Lily's room. He screamed. Annabeth ran upstairs, not caring that she'd just left the stove on and unattended. She got up to Lily's room and found Percy crying tears of fear and horror as he felt around his daughter's empty crib.
"S-she's g-gone."
