AUTHOR'S NOTE (A/N):

It has been eleven years since Super Typhoon Yolanda (Haiyan) devastated Region 8, and for all those years, I have kept my thoughts and experiences from that time locked away. Yes, I am a Yolanda survivor—my entire family and I.

This one-shot is deeply personal, inspired in part by what my family and I endured after the storm. While the names and barangay have been altered for privacy, the emotions and thoughts expressed through Maria are my own, pulled from those harrowing days.
