She Came?

Chapter 15

*Oneye*

She came back for me? I hadn't known she would. Maybe it was the journal, I thought she wouldn't notice. I had turned around just so I could see the house, hopping she'd be okay, and a little part of me wanted her to come looking. Now she was running and she looked furious.

"How dare you!" I heard her yell. That wasn't all I heard. Barking came from behind her. She veered off to the left and I saw him, Koda right behind her.

She was shaking her head as she came to an abrupt stop under me. I'd been sitting in the tree, reading the first few pages of her journal, I knew it was wrong, but if I were to leave her, I at least wanted to know about her.

I sighed and finally looked her in those gorgeous amber eyes. "I'm sorry, it's just.... just I have to leave soon, and I want so bad to know about you, but.... I guess I'm to afraid to say so." I finally admitted.

She cocked her head to the side, as if she was surprised, or as if she was expecting it. I started to get curious, did she have feelings for me too? Had she known I liked her, and was expecting this?

She calmed down and took a deep breath. "Actually I thought you would."

"Look I'm sor- wait what?"

"I know, it's okay." She said with a half smile as she dipped her head down a little.

"Wait... you aren't mad about this?" I said pointing at the journal.

"No, not at all, I'm angry at you leaving without telling me though." She said crossing her arms and whipping her hair back.

I leaped off the branch and landed in front of her and handed her the journal. "Oh, sorry... but I have to leave, my mission is done, I can't stay." I said as I took her hands.

She looked up at me with innocent eyes. "Why not?"

"I have to go home." I said looking away, I wanted to tell her more, but I couldn't.

"Why not stay with me?" She asked gently grabbing my chin and making me face her. "Stay with my.... mom, dad, and grandmother. In there." She said pointing at the house.

"Maybe... maybe someday." I pulled away from her grasp and turned away. I walked on and left her behind. Putting my feelings aside, I started to think about home.

"How could you?" She said quietly, I heard a sniffle but I ignored it, I couldn't let her get to me. I had my other duties to tend to.

Silent footsteps were stepping closer to me, I could hear it well, but they didn't seem to be approaching me; more like heading in my direction, but somewhere else.

My emotions got the best of me. I turned and faced her, even though she wasn't right in front of me; instead under the tree. When I looked at her, she stared at me.

The emotions just poured out. "Why?!?"

She was surprised. "Why what?"

"You may not know, but I do like you, you don't seem to like me back! You seem to hate me!"

"Oh... I know alright." She said mumbling. She stood and climbed the tree, as she sat she started to speak again. "I have my sources." She said smiling, like there was a joke there, one that you didn't have to say.

"What?!?" I practically yelled.

"You may not know, but you talk in your sleep," She said smirking. "and for the record, I like you too."

She jumped out of the tree and walked back to the house. Koda following. She silently went walking and opened her journal, I hadn't known but there was a pocket in the back of the book; apparently with a pencil. She started writing as she walked to the porch. She sat on the stairs and smiled as she wrote.

I silently walked over. Strange, is all I thought. I sat beside her and looked over her shoulder. She was drawing... me.

"You've known the whole time?" I finally said quietly.

She nodded as she sketched into the pages of her journal. It was detailed, it did look like me; there was just one difference. My clothes, in the picture, I didn't wear the clothes I was currently wearing. I had jeans and a t-shirt on. In real life I used long pants that were made of hides, a hoodie I guess, also made of hides. The thing she kept on, was the necklace I always wore.

I had something in my bag, and I decided it was time I gave it to her. "Hey, Nichole, I think you might want to try this on." I said handing to her some First Nations clothes.

She smiled and went inside, I didn't know if she was escaping me, or putting clothes on. Minutes later she came out with the clothes on.

It went off the shoulders, and luckily it fit her. The cloth went over her chest, and there were long sleeves underneath; with frills on the elbows. It was a dress, and there was a belt, which she put on. She put a purple and white, the symbol of war and peace, feather in her hair; which was in 2 braids.
She looked beautiful.

I stood up and she walked down the stairs. "Do you like it?" She asked waiting for an answer.

"Wow.... it's- that- you look wonderful." I said stuttering.

We walked to the tree, where Koda was laying in the shade of. Her innocent eyes were looking up at me, and I kept staring at hers. I leaned in and she stood still, not moving, as if she wanted what would happen. To happen.

Then our lips touched.
