Chapter 11

I ran towards him, he was just in sight. I smiled and yelled. "Wait!" When suddenly I felt a sudden pain in my side. I fell to the grass, and I only saw black.

I felt someone shaking my shoulders, and I heard the words "Wake up!" Although it was a bit fuzzy.

It was a boy, it looked like someone I knew, but my sight was blurry, and I couldn't see anything well. The boy was touching my side and seemed to be bandaged it, not only that, but I got a unwell sensation in my body. As if I was hit by something sharp and pointy. That's when it hit me, I suddenly remember what happened. An arrow came zipping by me and hit me hard. Then I blacked out.

I lifted my head but it hurt too much, I lay it in the grass that I was in and closed my eyes slowly. I felt a lick of a dog, and a hand to my side, a cloth and water. Must be Oneye trying to help me.  I thought as I closed my eyes completely. My eyes were now resting, but all I could feel was pain, and it hurt so much, that I felt like dyeing. I heard voices but I couldn't think straight, it was hard to descriptor what they were saying, but finally, I got what they were saying.

"This can't be too hard, this should work." I heard Oneye say.

I felt a cold cloth to my side and I winced. It hurt, but it helped. I heard him mutter, and Koda licking my hand, I guess it was that bad.

"I better do it now, or else, there's no hope." I heard him say. I wondered what he meant, and I thought for a few minutes.

Finally I figured out what he meant. I felt something being tugged out of my side. It was the arrow. Boy did it hurt, but it was better than nothing. It took a great struggle to clutch my side, but I did it anyways. It hurt too much, I felt as if there would be no hope.

I clutched my side hard, and stifled a scream. I opened my eyes. I thought I saw a smile on Oneye's face. How could he be smiling at a time like this? I thought as he laied his hand on my side. He gave me his hand so I could get up, I took it and stood.

"Thank you." I said as I grabbed him for support.

He caught me immediately, as if he was scared that I'd fall again. He held my arms, steading me. I smiled as I grabbed his arms. Koda whined and rubbed against my leg with his paw. I rubbed the little head of his and smiled.

"I'll be fine." I said.

Oneye set me down and started to bandage the wound, tightly, but it didn't matter to me, as long as the blood stopped, and all of it stopped hurting so much, I would be fine, probably.

He gave me water to drink, and bread. I took them thankfully and stood, walking as I ate and drank.

We headed back to the valley, and talked on our way. I never thought he'd get to the question. Until he finally did.

"Who do you think hit you?"
