Chapter 14

Where in the world did he go? I thought as I paced the floors. I didn't know why he would leave, but he did, maybe he forgot something? No, knowing him, probably not.

He better have a reason, and he better explain to me why. If I ever see him again. I finally realized that my bag wasn't with me anymore.

"Oh no." I said quietly.

Kara looked up immediately. "What?"

"My bag, my valuables, everything I had." I said as I pulled at my hair.

"Oh, it's right there." Toby said pointing at the side of the couch. "Um... Oneye left it before he left."

I breathed out a sigh of relief. Many things I owned were inside that bag, and not only that but my mom's stuff was in there. I strode towards it and took the bag, all its contents were in there, except one. Something that I hadn't brought out at all. A leather bound book, with all of my secrets inside; my journal.

"He took it..." I said in a whisper.

"Took what?" Kara asked.

"My journal....." I said as I clutched the bag.

"Oh... let's go look for him then." She replied.

"No... no, it's alright." I said feeling like I was being stabbed in the back. "He must have a good reason for taking it."

I was unsure why, and I was just reasoning with myself. Whatever his reason was, it had to be good, or at least reasonable.

I mean, I could probably trust my journal with someone I've only known for a few days, and practically just met, who happens to leave me with people I don't know. Oh.... okay, when I put it that way, it doesn't seem reasonable enough.

I got up in a split second and ran out the door. "I've got to find him!" I ran, and I heard barking. Koda was following me. Oh well.

I ran off the porch and towards the hills, there were footprints in the mud so I knew he had come that way. I was running and I saw him, he was sitting in the branch of a tree, reading my journal.
