Jungkook dozed on and off, not being able to sleep with all the foreign sounds of chaos. Opening his eyes again he rubbed them, they were irritated, itching and burning from the smoke.

Seeing the curtain open he sat up, still holding Yuri in his arms. His hand resting on her bump.

"I see you're awake now. I came in earlier and you were sleeping." Jungwoo said.

"Oh, yeah." Jungkook muttered.

"So some police officers are here and they would like to speak with you soon."

"Okay."

"Do you guys need anything, or experiencing any pain or discomfort?"

"Our eyes hurt."

"Alright, I'll take a look. Most likely just irritation from the smoke and I can give you some eye drops ."

Jungkook slowly let go of Yuri sitting up, seeing her become restless as she began waking up. She looked up at him, their fingers still intertwined from earlier.

"Whats happening?" She pulled her hand away and signed.

"He's looking at our eyes because they hurt. And then we have to speak with the police."

"I don't want to. Can't you talk to them instead of me?"

"I don't know!"

"Please! I can't talk to strangers!"

"I know, I barely can either love. Just take a deep breath and relax."

"Won't they separate us?" She said, panic seen in her facial expression.

The thought hadn't crossed his mind and it scared him. He was never alone, she was always there at his side.

He just shook his head.

"I don't know." He lipped.

The doctor walked back in and her anxiousness started all over again. Looking down to avoid contact she tried slowing her breathing. Jungkook noticed her starting to scratch her hands aggressively as a mindless distraction. Her hand became red quickly, he grabbed her hand and rubbed his thumb on the back of it.

Putting on gloves, the doctor and nurse stood next to Jungkook. They used a flashlight and tried examining his eyes. He stiffened up but let them do their job.

Taking off his gloves the doctor switched them to a fresh pair and walked on Yuri's side. She had her head turned in towards Jungkook, leaning on him.

"Look at the doctor." He signed but she shook her head no, getting closer to him.

"It's fine, the eyedrops should help, if not then I'll have to take a look." Jungwoo said it was clear that she was very uncomfortable, and he didn't want to cause more stress on her.

Jungkook nodded.

"Yua go get those please and administer them." The doctor instructed.

She nodded and left the room.

"Police will be in in a few minutes."

The time passed scrutinizingly slowly. A knock on the door followed by two police officers walking in, one male and the other female.

"Hello. I'm sure you guys have been through a lot, we just need to ask a few questions." The man said.

Jungkook just nodded his head. Yuri stayed glued to his side, looking at her hands.

"We understand you spoke about being kidnapped, and we got your letter you left at the police station." The woman started, "And we've checked out Mr. Park has been charged with some violent crimes in the past. We're trying to locate him for questioning."

"He must have set the fire, and then he left us to die. I saw him get in the car and leave. You can't let him stay out there, he's dangerous. He'll kill us!"

"He's not gonna touch either of you. We're going to make sure you're protected. And we're looking for him. That's why we need you guys to answer some questions."

"Where would he go?" The Woman asked while tucking a strand of hair behind her ears.

"I don't know."

"It could really help us locate him."

"We don't know anything. All personal information was hidden in locked rooms."

"Oh okay . . . Can you ask her?" The man looked at Yuri.

He tapped Yuri's arm making her look up at him.

"Where would Jihoon be?" He sighed to her.

Making eye contact she stared into his eyes while trying to think.

"How would I know?" She replied to him.

"She doesn't know." He told them.

"Thats alright. What time did you notice the fire?"

"I don't know, but I know they left around 4:30."

The pair of police both jotted down plenty of notes.

"Whose 'They'?"

"He probably took Sooyoung with him, their married." Jungkook spoke.

The female officers looked at her phone before showing it to them.

"Is this Jihoon?"

Jungkook nodded his head. The curtain opened and the doctor walked in.

"I think thats enough for today. They need to rest and we have a doctor waiting to come in. Do you have all you need?" Jungwoo interrupted.

"Yes. Thank you for everything, if you think of anything please let us know."

They both left the room, letting Jungkook relax a little.

"The obstetrician is ready just for a check up to make sure everythings okay. Then I want to check you guys lungs and airway to make sure no problems have developed and have someone get the discharge paperwork together if everything looks good." Jungwoo explained.

"But where will we go?" His doe eyes looked up at the doctor.

"We have someone working on that that deals with child services and situations like this."

"But me and her will be together right?"

"Uh. . . Well I don't have control over that. But I can see what I can do."

"You said you were gonna help us, we have to be together, I can't leave her alone!"

"Jungkook, everything is going to be okay I promise. Just stay calm."

Jungwoo and a woman switched places, he left and a woman walked in.

"I hear she's hard of hearing, correct?" She asked and Jungkook nodded.

"Ah okay. And she is your Girlfriend?" The doctor spoke.

"Yes." Jungkook muttered.

"Please sign what I'm saying to her if you could. I'm Yu-Jun, I'll be taking care of you and your baby for today just checking up on you two before you guys leave."

Jungkook signed every word while Yuri looked at Jungkook. She held onto his arm with hers, while her head leaned against his shoulder.

"I'm gonna need to see your belly." She said putting on gloves.

Yuri sat up, trying to pull her hospital gown up, her hand brushing against the soot remaining on her sweat pants she had worn the previous night. Jungkook helped her and pulled it up. He put his hand on her stomach rubbing his thumb up and down.

"It's okay." He sighed and muttered to her.

As usual her heart rate went up and blood pressure rose. Looking at the monitors the doctor glanced at Yuri.

"Was she given any medication?" The doctor asked.

"No and we aren't taking any-" Jungkook started.

"I wasn't recommending any. I've heard you've refused them and I'm not trying to push them onto you." Yu-Jun looked at some of the monitors, "Her blood pressure and heart rate only rise when someone is in the room I presume. Other times it's normal. Same with you I'm sure you just took your monitors off."

Every word she said was true. Jungkook blankly stared at her.

"Correct." He mumbled.

"Can I get a nurse in here?" She opened the curtains and raised her voice.

"Is there something wrong?" Jungkook asked, worry evident in his tone of voice.

"Yes, you aren't on monitors and your oxygen levels need to be monitored."

The same nurse they already saw walked in.

"Please bring the monitors over here." Yu-Jin kindly asked.

The woman nodded and brought them over, hooking him up to them again.

"You need to take care of yourself to take care of her." Yu-Jun briefly looked at him.

Putting the stethoscope to her ears she put it on Yuri's stomach and listened to the heartbeat. Leaning back up she pulled a machine towards the bed.

"I'm gonna do an ultrasound." She told them.

She pulled out a bottle of jelly and put some on her stomach.

"Do either of you have any concerns?" Yu-Jun asked.

Jungkook shook his head no and signed it to Yuri. She shook her head no also, a blank expression resting on her face. Hair fell on her face and he pushed it behind her ears.

As she moved the wand on Yuri's stomach Jungkook quickly heard a loud thumping heartbeat. Looking at the small monitor he saw an outline of a petite baby, his baby. He reached out and put his hand on her cheek, turning her head to the screen.

Her lips parted seeing their baby. It had finally seemed real, she finally saw her baby.  A small grin found her lips as she couldn't stop staring at the screen.
