Blood Brothers

"Izuku."

The brown-haired boy looked towards his only remaining clan member.

"Yes, Sasuke?"

"Stick by me alright. When we go to the academy."

"But Sasuke, I'm not ninja material though," Izuku said rejecting his fellow clansman.

To see the scowl on his face didn't bother Izuku. He already knew what he was thinking.

"Izuku, we don't have much choice. If our clan was still around then you could have just backed out but it's just us. We are vulnerable! We need training! Or do you want to die and share the same fate as our clansman? Your mother and sister? Tell me!"

"I don't want to kill Sasuke, if it brings the same pain it was done to me and you. Then it's just not worth it." Izuku sighed. He looked up from the balcony, the cloudy skies above. His black sleeves resting on his sides.

Immediately he felt his shoulder grabbed and being turn around to face a pained expression.

"That's an order! You are to join me in the ninja academy! Listen Izuku, I am your clan leader now. I speak for both of us and the future of our clan that power is needed to achieve what we desire." Sasuke had tears streaming down his face. All he had said, it made him accept that he and Izuku were the only ones left. Aside from Itachi-nii.

"Yes, Sasuke-Sama." Izuku bowed his head. He sucked up his pain and wrapped his arms around the boy. Sasuke was shocked at first but before he could say anything the hug was tighter.

"Let me have this, your the only person who understands my pain. So please just this moment let me have this..." Izuku trailed off as Sasuke eased into the hug and even returned it. Both boys, both children had their lives taken a turn for the worse. Only each other could they find reprieve until it was time to face the facts. Their families were gone. Nothing could change that. Still, they had one another's backs.

That was why Sasuke was mad at the fact Izuku didn't want to be a ninja, it almost was like an act of betrayal. So he played the head-branch card and Izuku knew it. Damn it he knew it too. It was a power move. The child was smart not to say anything else other than "Sasuke-Sama."

Izuku was close to breaking the fragile bond they had left. So he opted not to do any more damage. They still had a funeral to attend.

Once Sasuke parted from him, the boy opens the sliding door and went inside. Izuku followed suit but as got in and closed the sliding door. He saw his reflection. Those eyes again.

Those damn eyes again. Glowing a dark crimson and staring back into his soul. Izuku scowled at himself, his own depression had awaken his birthright but he didn't have control over it.

"Izuku?" The brown-haired boy felt a hand on his own. When he saw Sasuke's reflection, the blazing red disappeared and return to their normal brown.

"I'm here. Let's go." Izuku said letting Sasuke lead the way.

The town was still bustling as per usual. Even on a dark and gloomy day, the villagers had smiles on their faces. Izuku paid no attention as Sasuke led him through the town.

Many looked at the pair of black clothes kids. Some women found it cute and adorable that the two boys shared such a bond while the men found it funny to look at. Izuku held a nonchalant face while Sasuke was burning at this own embarrassment.

Feeling the heat traveled to his hands, Izuku stopped his steps.

"Wait."

"W-Why?"

"Your embarrassed aren't ya?"

"No..."

"Do you want me to lead?"

"Yes..."

"Then let me." Izuku took charge earning a few squeals from a couple of teenage girls and girls around their age.

Sasuke was flushed at the attention.

Why did they have to take the busy street?

As Izuku walks on, he saw a flower shop along the way. Stopping in front, Izuku and Sasuke gave each other a look. Sasuke shook his head while Izuku shrugged.

Going inside against his wishes, Sasuke followed suit and only glanced at Izuku as he examines the flowers.

"Hi! May I help you?"

"Oh yes. Do you have any white lilies?"

"Yes we do, would that be single, five, or bouquet?"

Izuku looked back to Sasuke. The latter had shrugged his shoulders.

"Bouquet is fine? How much?"

"6,609.39 yen."

Izuku fetched into his pocket, he grabbed his wallet and looked into it. Only 7000 yen left. He fished out the money and gave it to the blonde cashier girl. Her smile was bright as the stunning flowers in the shop. Sucks that he couldn't appreciate it at the moment.

"Thank you for your purchase, please come again."

Izuku nodded with thanks as he held the bouquet. The curly-haired child left the shop with Sasuke in toe. As both boys found themselves at the tombstone cemetery. They walked together over to the table to give their respects to those who were killed that night, men, women, and children. Fellow ninjas gave their condolences to the two survivors.

Lord Third had attended the funeral as well.

No one had expected this tragedy to happen. Izuku looked over to his side to see Sasuke bawling in anger and frustration. The brown-haired children even to begin to imagine what was going through the new-clan leader's mind.

His brother, the one Izuku looked up to as well.

Itachi Uchiha, the killer of the Uchiha clan. He would forever be seen in a bad light in the eyes of Sasuke and the rest of the village. But for some reason, Izuku could never be angry at the teenager. Maybe it was because there were not many details about this. Izuku was always sure that Itachi never truly wanted this. Even he could remember seeing the look of sadness on his face before the genjutsu was placed.

Izuku sighed as he wrapped his arm into a hug with Sasuke. Now more than ever he needed him. As far as they were concerned. They were on the way to becoming brothers.

Once the ceremony had finished. Sasuke sat down on the grass beneath the tree. He glanced at Izuku who was putting flowers down on eat tombstone for the Uchiha. All the while getting soaked from the rain.

Sasuke was confused. He was angry at the situation, feeling vengeful to hunt down his older brother, but...above all else. He felt frustration towards Izuku. Not in a bad way but in a more annoying fashion.

He was the leader of the clan now, and it does come with its problems. Now that their only two males left, how in the hell were they going to rebuild a clan.

Not only that, but how did Izuku feel about all of this? A while before the massacre, Izuku dropped out of the ninja program because he had absolutely no talent for ninjutsu or genjutsu. But that didn't matter at the time, now? They had no choice, the Uchiha was a valuable asset to Konoha.

'Izuku, why won't you cry. Let me see that your hurting.' Sasuke thinks to himself as Izuku finished putting the flowers on the Uchiha stones. Much to his dismay, there was something different about the boy compared to himself. Sasuke noticed the lack of anger in Izuku's eyes and motions. While he was sad, he didn't cry. Maybe something in Izuku forced him to grow up.

Being younger than him, Sasuke expected Izuku to be the one to break after the hectic events, not himself.

"Sasuke are you ready to leave?"

"Are you done putting the flowers?"

"Yes." Izuku nodded. His brown curly-hair now soaked and sticking to his forehead. His clothes were like another layer of skin.

Without another word said, both boys left the memorial park.

Nothing was said once the two went back to the compound. Sasuke was visibly uncomfortable going back in there, it only served him a feeling of empty longing. Turning to his servant, he didn't see discomfort or fear.

Only solemn.

Once they had reached for Sasuke's house. Izuku and he took charge of their plan. They intended to use whatever that can benefit in their pursuit of personal well-being. Izuku ransacked Itachi's room for anything that can give him any information of any kind. Whether it be jutsus or motivations.

Only weapons were found which wasn't a bad thing at all. It only saves them the cost of buying anything.

Sasuke went into his room to collect his clothes and soon went to his parent's room. In there he found his mother's katana. The blade was chipped but seemed repairable to the child's eyes. His father had a lot of scrolls, some of which were biographies and other techniques used by the Uchiha. Sasuke scavenged whatever he could into his backpack.

While he did feel a bit guilty for dishonoring his parent's privacy, he knew that they weren't going to be needing it anymore.

Meeting Izuku outside, they went to his house. Upon arriving in Izuku's home. The two put down their stuff and moved the living room furniture around so they could have more space.

"Alright, aside from weapons, I think we found some useful stuff," Izuku said as he rummaged through some of Fugaku's scrolls.

"Right, but we still have a lot more houses to clear out." Sasuke reminded with an annoyed tone. There were many families, so each house had to be ransacked in search of supplies.

"What's your plan? Once we searched all the houses?" Sasuke asks.

"Right now, I need to find a jutsu that can demolish some of these homes. I want to build an orphanage." Izuku states.

"What?! You want to disrespect our clan for a home or abandon kids?"

"Look who's talking. We're abandoned remember? I want to give a home to the kids who never had one in the first place." Izuku states. These past few weeks since the massacre made him open his eyes to one of the many problems the world faces. Disregarding children.

"Okay...but this will take time and money. The latter of which we don't even have!"

"Your wrong about those two, especially the money." Izuku looked up Sasuke before he connected the dots.

"Your not just ransacking for supplies? Money as well?"

"Yea, first I need to find some scrolls that can teach me some basic sealing jutsu so I have storage.  But right now, I need to clear out the rest of the houses before anything else. Once that's done, then I can focus on constructing the orphanage." Izuku concluded as he picks up a scroll, and empty one. Getting an ink brush on the counter, he wrote a brief outline of the plan.

"There's one thing that we definitely need."

"What's that?" Sasuke.

"We need the Shadow Clone Jutsu," Izuku said.

"Why?"

"Truthfully, I want this done before we graduate. So right now, I need to search some more houses if they say anything about the Jutsu, our clansman were secretive so eventually, we should find something."

"What about Itachi?" Sasuke inquires.

"What about Itachi?" Izuku questions back.

"He needs to die! We can't be spending our time just to build an orphanage for any kid to stay."

"Sasuke, this is my dream. I could care less going after Itachi. Look, I know your clan head but we both know that we are too young and too inexperienced to anything about this predicament. You can go be an avenger, I want to be a helper. Don't give me that look too, I am still going to the academy but not for the same reasons as you are. You are your own person and you can do what you will with your life but I want to help kids like us get by!" Izuku wrote with grace but his tone was nothing but passion. Sasuke had to give him a disappointing look towards the boy.

"I thought you were Uchiha?" He spat with venom.

"I am, but I am human first Sasuke. I could care less for revenge, I just want to move on from this nightmare." Izuku admitted.

Sasuke shook his head, his only servant was not with him in motivation but in company. Why wouldn't Izuku just see it his way? No! He will make him see it his way!

Because he is a goddamn Uchiha! But more importantly, he was his fellow brother in blood.
