Chapter 5:

Kevin's POV

A few weeks had passed since Riley had told us she was actually Artemis. I woke up at 6 in the morning and got ready for my morning jog. I also got Artemis and Elizabeth up for the jog as well. They meet up with me at the front door, "Are you ready?" I nod and we make our way out the door.

*An hour later*

Riley/ Artemis' POV

Jogging with Eliza and Kevin is actually quite fun. We were jogging around the corner from the Shiba House when I spotted Deker. I stopped jogging and walked towards him. The others must have noticed I wasn't jogging with them and stopped. Eliza smiles, "Do you want us to wait up for you?" I reply, "Yeah. This will only take a few minutes." I finally get to him when I feel myself being pulled down on to the ground. I scream. Someone is trying to pull me into the Netherworld. Deker, Eliza and Kevin are trying to pull me back out. I say to them, "It's not going to work. Just let me go." Eliza replies, "I'm not letting you go." I look at Deker, knowing he sees the truth in my words, "I'll be fine." He nods, "You're right, Artemis. It isn't going to work. Give me your necklace. You'll need your nighlok side to survive there." Since they were pulling on my shoulders, I could easily get the necklace off and give it to him. He says to me, "I'm sorry, Artemis." He lets go of my arm and instructs the others to do the same. Kevin lets go, but Eliza looks at me and I say to her, "I'm going to be fine. Just tell the others what happened." She nods with tears in her eyes, " I love you sissy,"and does just that.

Third person POV in the Netherworld

Master Xandred had Artemis into the Netherworld. She looked at the red superior nighlok and tried to be strong. She couldn't show any fear in front of him or he would use it against her. He screamed, "WHY DID YOU CROSS ME?" She snapped, "I was never with you to begin with!" He gestures to the moogers, making them stand her up. Master Xandred then puts his hand up and using magic, makes her turn into her nighlok form. Artemis looks down at herself and realizes what he is about to do, "You can't make me do this!" He lets out a deep, sinister laugh, "Yes I can!" He waves his hand again, this time brainwashing Artemis to forget her human side. She kneels, "What are your orders, Master Xandred?" He laughs again, "Go to the human world and attack." She nods, "Yes, Master." She leaves to complete the order. No one ever realized Deker standing outside the ship, seeing this all happen.

Eliza's POV in Human World

I look at her and she says to me, "I'm going to be fine. Just tell the others what happened." I nod with tears in my eyes, " I love you sissy,"and I let go of her. Kevin turns to me and puts his hand on my shoulder, "We have to tell the others." I nod and turn to look at where Deker was standing, but is no longer there. I shake my head and turn towards Kevin, "Come on. We don't have much time." We run back to the Shiba House.

When we got to the Shiba House, the others were outside practicing. Kevin and I both shouted, "Artemis was pulled into the Netherworld by Master Xandred." We heard an echo of, "WHAT?" At that moment, we heard the gap sensor go off. Ji goes into the house, tells us where the nighlok then looked back at us, "I'll look for her and you go fight the nighlok." All six of us nod, run towards the gate and morph. We run towards the location that he told us and see a blue, black and white nighlok attacking the city. We get out our Samurai swords and go to attack it when we were all thrown backwards. I look up and I see Deker standing between us and the nighlok, "Don't attack her. It's Artemis." I stand up and go to walk to her, but Deker stops me, "She won't recognize you. I saw Master Xandred brainwash her." The rest of the rangers stood up too.

Deker's POV

After I had stopped the purple ranger from going over to Artemis, the yellow ranger asked me, "Why would Master Xandred brainwash her?" Right after she finished asking that, Artemis had chosen that moment to wave her hand and throw them all backwards. Her nighlok form is really powerful. I can see why he chose to brainwash her. I looked over at the rangers and replied, "That probably would be a factor in why." The rangers were still recovering from the harsh landing when Artemis decided to throw an energy ball at each of them and exploded the ground beneath them. They were flung and demorphed after a while of this happening. The purple one stood up again and walked towards her, "Riley." The nighlok wasn't fazed by this name. She corrected herself, "Artemis. It's me, Eliza." Artemis looked up at her, meaning Eliza had her full attention, "I know you're in there. Please listen to me. Remember who you are, because this attacking us thing really needs to stop. Trust me, I've known you almost all of my life. You were there when I was little, for all of my birthdays, was twelve and my parents died. You are the big sister I always wanted. You are the only family I have left."

I looked from Eliza to Artemis, who shook her head and stopped attacking people. She looked at me and cleared her bright blue hair off her neck, allowing me to put the necklace on her. After I did so, she turned back to her human form.

Artemis POV

".... You are the only family I have left," Eliza told me. What am I doing? What's happening? I attacked my friends. I shook my head, getting the remains of the brainwash out of it. I look at Deker while clearing my long blue hair off my neck. I allowed Deker to put the necklace on and I went back to being human. Deker tried to give me a hug, but I stepped back. He looks at me weirdly, "What's wrong?" He tries to give me a hug again and I shook my head and kept stepping back, "Don't touch me! What have I done?" I'm a monster. I ran in the opposite direction with Deker and the other rangers running after me.
