Rapunzel's POV

Eugene and I didn't have enough time to get decent, so we scurried over to the dinning room in casual clothing. Eugene wore an airy blue tunic with gray pants, and I was wearing my blue sundress with yellow flats.

The dinning room wasn't far from the cabins. The ship was rather large for a cargo ship, but it was going to travel the whole North Sea.

Once we entered the dinning room, we were greeted by the maid, Madame Carlotta. She was a short woman with a friendly but tired face.

"Welcome, Your Majesties!" Madame Carotta said proudly as she walked us to our seats.

The King sat at the head of the table. Besides the crown on his head, he wasn't dressed like a King, though. He wore a white tunic and navy blue pants with red fabric wrapped around his waist.

The Queen sat across from the King. She wore a casual blue and green dress with dark blue flats. And her crown was bejeweled in emeralds that matched her earrings.

The princess sat next to her father. She wasn't wearing a dress at all. Instead, she wore something similar to what the King wore. Her tunic was yellow and her pants were light brown, but she didn't wear fabric around her waist. And her crown was missing.

The Queen spotted us immediately and scurried to meet us.

"Nice to meet you, Princess Rapunzel! I've heard quite a few stories about you," she said with a smile as she bowed.

"Of course you have. It's a pleasure to meet you, Your Majesty! You have a lovely ship," I responded.

"Oh, thank you! And please, call me Ariel. This is my daughter Melody and my husband Eric." She pointed to the table where her family awaited her. I waved to them shyly and took my seat next to Eric. Eugene sat next to Ariel on the opposite side, since it was table etiquette, and Sir Grimsby appeared from the kitchen to take his place next to mine.

"So Rapunzel, what brings your here tonight on this lovely evening?" Eric asked kindly. His blue eyes shimmered from the sunlight outside.

"I am on a quest to find something I lost a long time ago. It's a long story. And if I told you, you all would think of me as insane," I admitted. This made the royal family burst into laughter.

"We know quite a lot of being insane, Rapunzel. Believe me, you have no idea," Ariel said as she laughed.

"Tell your story," Melody said.

"I'm guessing you all know the story about The Lost Princess. What you don't know is that there were two magical sisters. Twins. I was kidnapped by an evil woman named Mother Gothel and kept in a tower for eighteen years. To save the other magical sister from Mother Gothel as well, my mother sent her away to another kingdom, but had her mind wiped along with my fathers by trolls to forget information about my sister so they wouldn't become a target to Mother Gothel if she came for the other daughter. And that is why I'm here. I'm going to find my sister, Elsa."

My eyes scanned the dinner table. Sir Grimsby was staring at me with wide eyes, Eric was admiring his wife, and Ariel and Melody were showing complete interest in my story. But then Melody looked away from me as if she knew something.

"Wow! All the lands were told that your sister was killed during the kidnapping. I hope you find her. I wouldn't know what I would do if I had to give up Melody. I'd probably turn back into a mermaid and live my life scraping barnacles off ship hulls," Ariel said. Eric glared at her seriously, making her laugh nervously to then say, "Just kidding!"

The royal family seemed a little strange, but weren't we all? I had opened up to then; hopefully I wouldn't regret it.
