Rapunzel's POV

I caught a glimpse of my reflection in the mirror and froze. I looked back at myself and all my attention went to my hair. It was still short and brown. I let out a big sigh. I missed my old hair, but it was used for evil. My new hair reminds me of my past, which didn't have to be a bad thing. Eugene cutting it was in the past, and it was the best thing anyone had ever done for me. Gothel was in the past; she made me stronger than ever.

I didn't need my long, 70-foot, golden hair anymore. I've found another way to use my gift. All I had to was flick out my hand and feel my powers run through my body. I did this in front of the mirror and golden light shot out of my left hand.

I giggled and tried it again, but with my right. It was a little weaker, so I tried both at the same. Even weaker. I got a little frustrated, so I angrily shot both my hands in the air as I felt a rush of magic burst out of my hands as my eyes closed. I opened one eye and quickly put my hands down as I hesitated to look up and sure enough, there were vines on the ceiling. I opened my other eye and blinked in disbelief, but the vines didn't go away.

"Eugene, I did it again," I yelled sadly to Eugene. A few seconds later he came bursting into the room and looked around until he saw the damage.

Eugene stood tall with his legs a bit apart and his hand on his hips. He was wearing a purple shirt with the sleeves rolled up to his elbows, a black vest, and black pants tucked into his new black boots. And on his vest he wore a special golden sun pin indicating that he was royalty.

"So this is my new dream?" Eugene asked playfully as he walked towards me.

"I'm sorry. I guess I'm just a bit jumpy," I said as I wrapped my arms around his neck. Eugene rested one hand on my waist and kissed my forehead before he cupped my face with his other hand.

"No need to apologize; I love my new dream," he said quietly as a smile formed on his face, which made me smile.

"I love mine, too," I said in response before we were interrupted by Mother and Father bursting into our room. Eugene and I quickly jumped away from each other and pretended that we weren't just being intimate.

"What was that loud noise, darling? Oh, no," she said when she saw the vines on the ceiling. I thought she would be angry or sympathetic, but she was neither. She was fiddling with her lilac dress nervously.

"Mother, is something wrong?" I asked as I slowly walked towards her.

"They're becoming stronger," I heard Father whisper into Mother's ear.

"What's becoming stronger? My powers?" I asked them. They knew I was just working out the kinks. Ever since I got married to Eugene, my powers were not just only in my tears, but now in my touch. And I was working on controlling it; it's harder that it seems. But I didn't know why my parents were being so weird about it.

"Now is not the time to discuss this. Tonight we will be having a private dinner with Eugene and you. Be prompt and bring no one else," Father said in a stern tone that I rarely heard. Mother nodded along with what he had to say before they exited the room and closed the door behind them.

"Well that was odd, Rapunzel. Don't you think?" Eugene asked after a long moment of silence. He looked at me with a tilted head and a questioned look.

"Yes. Very odd."

Once I had changed into a light yellow dress with golden designs on the skirt and bodice and put on matching shoes, I fixed the collar on Eugene's royal uniform and his hair before we were ready to go to dinner.

"Oh, wait. One more thing," Eugene added before he carefully picked up my crown from my dresser and slowly placed it on my head."Don't forget yours, too, my prince," I said with a smile. I caught Eugene blushing before I walked over to his dresser and picked up his shiny golden crown. Then I walked back to him and placed it on his head before I gave him a big kiss. We both smiled all goofy at each other before Eugene decided to open the door so we would finally be on our way to dinner.

We speed-walked through the halls as we laughed at each other until we were in front of the two large doors that opened up to the royal dining room. Two guards stood next to the doors, ready to open them for us at command. They bowed quickly and stood up straight once again, waiting.

I was really nervous. I didn't like to talk about my power all that much. It was just a thing I was born with. Everyone acted strange when I showed them; that was a given. But why did my own parents want to talk about them over dinner?

I turned my head to Eugene. His face was stern and he was looking ahead, but that changed when he caught me staring. He looked at at me with a smile on his face before he grabbed my hand and squeezed it in reassurance. Having Eugene by my side has made all of these things in my life 100 times better, but I was still a bit scared.

"You may open the door," Eugene said to the two guards. They both nodded as Eugene pulled me back to allow the guards to have some space while they opened the heavy doors.

The table in the dining room was quite smaller than the one we had had with other guests, but there were just going to be four people, so it made sense to replace it with a smaller one. Father was standing at the head of the table and Mother stood at the opposite side of the table. When Eugene and I both entered the room, they were talking angrily to one another.

"How can we say that to her?!" Mother asked Father in a rough tone before they realized we were in the room with them. Eugene cleared his throat loudly to get their attention. They both looked at us with surprise as they quickly walked towards us. They tried to smile nicely for us, but it was obviously a fake smile.

Father guided me to the seat to the right of where he would be sitting and pulled it out so I could sit. Once doing so, he pushed in my chair and sat down in his own seat.

I saw Eugene push in Mother's chair and quickly made his way to his seat which was right across from me. Then everyone's attention went Father, who didn't have a kind expression on his face. And instead of speaking, he looked at Mother and lifted the metal lid off of his plate to reveal two sausages, different kinds of deli meat, and an arrangement of whole grain breads. We all opened our lids and set them to the side.

I glanced at Eugene and saw that he was staring at me now with an impatient look. I was tired of the looking and the waiting and the delaying that I decided to take matters into my own hands. Literally.

"So, are we going to discuss this or what?" I said as I flicked out my left hand and the golden light softly shot out. Thank goodness it didn't hit anything.

Father looked at Mother who was looking at me who Eugene was also looking at.

"Alright, Rapunzel. I do not know how you will react to this information, but I do know that you deserve to know it," she finally said. I tilted my head and got a little comfortable because I knew that this would take a while.

"Go on."

"Okay. When you were born, you weren't alone." She had paused to get my reaction.

"Of course I wasn't. I had Father and you!" I said happily. I didn't get it at the time. I was happy it wasn't going in a bad direction.

"No, Rapunzel. In, in the womb."

My whole world stopped. Thoughts raced through my mind like horses racing. I didn't know what to think.

'Did they look like me? Where did they live? What's their name? When can I see them? Do they have powers like me? How come no one knows? Why did they keep it a secret?'

I got a bit light-headed and I guess Eugene could see that, so he pushed out his chair, got up, and ran to me to make sure I was alright.

"You're, you're lying," I managed to say to them. The only thing that made sense at the time would be if they were joking, but I could tell that they weren't.

"It's true and I'll answer anything I can, honey," she said as she got up and walked towards me. I could see her eyes becoming watery as she stood next to me.

"Was it a girl?" I asked simply. I didn't want to overwhelm Mother nor myself. Mother nodded.

So now I had I sister all of a sudden. What does one do with that sort of information? On the outside, I was trying to remain calm. But on the inside, I was freaking out.

"Let me tell you the whole story. Everyone knew about you two. But no one knew you two possessed magic, and neither did we. When you were kidnapped, we found the nursery completely covered in ice. That's when we found out about your sister's magic. We thought you both would have magic since you two were twins, so we sent her away so she wouldn't get hurt."

"Where did you send her away to?" I asked impatiently. I wanted to meet her. She sounded strange already. Why did she have ice powers?

"I don't remember certain things. You father and I had some of our memories wiped by trolls so we wouldn't become a target."

"Do you at least know her name?"

"No. We had that wiped, too. Anyways, we told Corona that your sister was killed along with you getting kidnapped so they could forget about her. But we never did. Even though I don't know her name or where she is, I know that I love her and she's living a better life."

"But now I'm here! Isn't she safe now? Can't she come back?" I asked.

"She could, but she hasn't been here for twenty-one years. I don't think she knows where her true home is or not. Let alone that she has a twin sister."

I thought about this for a while. I wanted to look for her, but I didn't have enough information.

"Was she brought into a line of royalty?" I asked Mother.

"I believe so, but I'm not sure." At least this was a start.

I knew that finding a single person in a random kingdom would be hard, but I would prepare for it. I needed to know what she looked like; the color of her hair, the color of her eyes, the shade of her skin, and more. I had found my dream, which was Eugene. But now I had found a new one.

My new dream was to find my magical ice sister.
