Finding Eden
Finding Eden
I'm doing an Assassin's Creed marathon after completing Valhalla and now I wanna do this. Ive got all the remastereds and finished the first Assassin's Creed 100% the other day. Plus I know there is a fuckton of assassin fanboys in the pertemis group for some reason because along with guardian of the hunt and being cheated on by annabeth its apparently one of the three key things in a pertemis story is for percy to dress up like Ezio because that's somehow efficient protecting 20 teenage girls against hordes of literal monsters. Anyway enough of my hypocritical moaning, sorry if i'm grumpy i'm jacked on speed and pissed off by certain people so here it is, TemplarPercy and AssassinArtemis story. Yay
Also AC Unity's story doesn't exist because i didn't properly play it so anything in that game that interferes with this story didn't happen. Napoleon is a templar.
Finding Eden
The blade rang throughout the corridor, muffled by the commotion outside before it was swung straight into the guard's neck. A gloved hand held him up so he didn't fall and knock something over, and the murderer was able to gently lay the pale man onto the ground without any fuss.
It was a measly guard for such a treasured item, but Artemis let it slide. Tonight was the wedding of the much loved Aphrodite LeRoux, daughter of one of Napoleon Bonaparte's closest allies and fellow Templar, Poseidon LeRoux. She was being married to the son of another lord named Hephaestus something, Artemis didn't pay too much attention.
Thankfully the music, laughing, drinking and all the things Artemis did not particularly favor came in quite helpful that night as they allowed her to be a bit less worried about discretion.
She walked up to the door that the man had been guarding and tried the door. Locked. Great, more work. She thought to herself as she brought out a lockpicking kit and set to work on the stubborn door.
It took only a few seconds for the door to click and slowly swing open, at which point Artemis was able to have a sniff around inside. There was thankfully no one inside and the fireplace was lit, allowing ample lighting to find what she was looking for.
She saw a box on one of the desks and assumed it was in there. As she didn't have any time to lockpick the thing - guards would be patrolling the halls and would see the bloodstained rug - she merely took out her hidden blade and jammed it into the lock.
Suddenly there were footsteps and she had little time to react before a man walked in. Thankfully she'd grabbed the papers inside the box and swiftly hid herself behind the red drapes, holding it close so they didn't swing and give away her position.
A man walked in and Artemis recognized him. Perseus LeRoux, 21, second son of infamous Templar higher-up Poseidon LeRoux, himself a Templar though not in the same position as his father. He was still dangerous to her cause and was her next target. Convenient he showed up here instead of wherever her brother was planning to ambush and assassinate him.
He was humming softly as he walked in and over to his desk. He began rummaging around in the desk and hit a panel. There was a noise of sliding and he picked something up, and Artemis noticed a key. When he turned to the box however he found it had been opened, making a jolt of panic flow through him. "Merde!"
With either the skill and aim of a Templar not seen since Haytham Kenway of the Colonial Order, or the luck of a fool, Perseus spun around and drew his pistol. The familiar shing of a hidden blade being drawn rung throughout his ears, before he was deafened by the gunpowder being set off.
Clack!
The bullet made contact with the blade and the force sent Artemus' wrist into the wall like she had punched it, making her hiss in pain. Thankfully the strength of her bracer prevented it from piercing into her wrist, but the metal had the ball ricochet onto the floor with a thud.
Both Templar and Assassin were surprised that he wasn't dead, and both fumbled for his next move. Having absolutely no time to reload, Percy dropped the pistol and drew another, pointing it straight at her chest. Artemis on the other hand drew her sword and prepared to charge him, hoping its long reach in the small space would catch his guts before he could react and fire.
Percy's other hand reached for his sword and he made to draw it too until he felt someone's palm against his back. "Keep your hand still, lest I send my blade through your back." He heard a young voice say cockily.
Percy's hand slowly moved from the hilt of his sword to the handle of his third pistol, which was loaded and holstered. Artemis was annoyed. "What are you doing, brother? Kill him!" She shouted, but it was too late for that.
Percy pulled the trigger, and the holstered gun fired. Being that it eas sheathed at a 45 angle down to his back, the bullet passed right through it's leather strap and into Apollo's leg. The assassin screamed and brought his hand from Percy's back to clutch his thigh in pain. Artemis' eyes widened but before she could do anything else about it he looked at her and fired.
She ducked just in time and the bullet missed, but Perseus had already made a break for it down the hall. "Bâtard! Brother, what was that?!" She yelled at him, but Apollo was already limp-jogging after him. "C'mon! He's getting away!"
Perseus ran for his life down the unpopulated halls. "Guards! Assassin! The Assassins are here!" He yelled, getting the attention of two guards, the only two patrolling the second floor of that wing for the party.
As Percy sprinted past it was left up to the two French soldiers to stop the assassins. Despite one of them being injured, the twins had no trouble dispatching the two and gave chase - Apollo lagging a bit behind.
Percy sprinted into the dining room where his father had been not five minutes before with guests, but was dismayed to find it completely empty. As he looked out the window he saw his father, the Emperor, the French Grandmaster Zeus Olympia and other prominent Templars all scattered in the courtyard. All were out there and none in there to help him. "Skitstövel." He cursed in Swedish, one of the languages he'd learnt for the war.
The assassin's barged into the room and he turned around, determined to buy time or think up a plan. "Assassins! It took you long enough! What ever were you doing snooping around my office like Parisian rats? I have nothing to hide. Why are you here?" He asked, knowing full well the answers to both questions.
The hoods had fallen off of both of them now and they seemed familiar, but he did not know where from. "The pages, LeRoux. The order has claimed what you have stolen, and we have come to eliminate you." The girl spoke.
Percy scoffed. "Stolen? How can I steal something that has not been property since the days of Jésus Christ himself?" He raised an eyebrow, but the assassins had no time for his games.
Suddenly it clicked in Percy's mind and he grinned. "Ah! I know now! You must be Zeus's twins, the traitors! What was it, Artemis and Apollo? I heard something about you two becoming members of the coward's club." He pointed a finger knowingly.
Apollo glared. "Do not compare us to that man!" He shouted, angry at his parentage. Percy shrugged, then grabbed his fourth pistol and in the blink of an eye shot Apollo's other leg. The kid fell over in agony, the pain form his other leg also coming back.
"Honestly, you should have expected that. Why on earth would I only have three guns?" He asked in bewilderment, and Artemis was enraged and poised to strike.
He unsheathed his sword and pointed at her. The two circled each other closely, not more than five feet apart. "Y'know, our fathers are close. Close enough that they promised each other to wed their children when they came of age, and wouldn't you know it, father picked me and Zeus picked you." He smirked.
Artemis' eyes widened as she took in this information. Part of the reason she had defected was not only because her father was a cruel man and the Assassin's offered to help her stop him, but because he was planning to marry her off to the son of another Templar. This was that son.
They were very close now, both swords against each other's chest. "Just think… if you had stayed, we would be married right now. Living in a big house, three beautiful little children, two girls and a boy, hounds and servants to keep us comfy. I would have treated you right, Artemis." He spoke, snake-venom practically dripping from his tongue.
Artemis never wanted any of these things. She did not want marriage or kids, she did not even want sex and had stayed true to her virginity for all her 21 years of life. Even so, the way he said it made her oddly nostalgic, like she was considering that as some sort of better future. While yes it would have been nice to not be in a secret war, a family and domestic life was never what she envisioned.
"Snake-tongue!" She hissed, angry that he was trying to manipulate her. Percy chuckled and they kept circling. "Snake-tongue? What, am I getting inside your head?" He mocked, leaning ever so slightly closer. She had the opportunity to end it, a lackluster kill where she just pushed the blade and it impaled him.
But something prevented her.
The two were staring into each other's eyes in that room, Apollo still bleeding on the floor and groaning in pain.
Percy was manipulating her, she could feel it.
He leaned in inches away from her. "Who knows, yeux d'argent? Maybe it could still be…." He whispered, and Artemis felt like she was falling asleep. Was this witchcraft? Charmspeak? He was trying to woo her and render her unconscious so he could kill her.
Her eyes rolled up into her head and she leaned forward. Still conscious, she could barely register what was happening before his lips pressed against hers.
Her soft lips happily molded against his as she shared her first kiss. The enemy took hold of her hands and kissed her, rubbing the backs of them with his thumb. Artemis' eyes slowly closed as she leaned into it, savoring every moment of her first kiss.
Slowly he pulled away, staring into her silver eyes. "Meet me in four suns outside of the Notre Dame at noon, in normalwear." He whispered to her, kissing her again quickly before heading past her and sprinting out of the room down the hall.
As he left Artemis' mind was buzzed with his message. He wanted to meet her again. He wanted to see her. In normalwear. Like normal people. He's gone. He's gone!
Her mind slapped her out of her stupor. Sure enough, he was gone. Slipped right out from underneath her. "Merde! Merde! Merde!" She cursed, stomping her boot angrily.
Apollo was laying on the floor looking pissed. "What the shit was that, sister! He ran right past you and you didn't even run after him! Whatever, help me up, we gotta go!" He said urgently.
Artemis swallowed and nodded, casually forgetting to mention that she'd had her first kiss, and with the enemy no less. As she helped her brother up and to the door she failed to notice the lack of paper in her pocket.
The paper she had been assigned to steal.
