14: Remembering Part 2
Aurora was very aware of the blue eyed beauty sitting across from her. It kind of scared her how her body reacted to him. Her eyes travelled along the ridges of his arms, the siluette of his shoulders, and the curls of his hair. Her stomach fluttered uncontrollably when his hand grazed against her back, as he pointed her towards her pulled out chair.
She still couldn't wrap her mind around this amnesia problem.
She remembers being fifteen, just now discovering the secrets of boys and attraction.
Moving past the adolecent idea of them being cute, and wandering towards them being . . . hot.
This Keenan guy was definitley hot.
But even though her memory tells her she's fifteen, her body tells her something else entirely. She's an eighteen year old woman, who is very attracted to this man in front of her. Her eighteen year old mind plays a scene out in her head, that her fifteen year old self still thought was too grown up.
"Aurora."
She snapped back into the present reality. She looked up through her curly hair to see the surfer guy staring back at her, his dark blue eyes haunting her.
"Yes?" She cleared her throat, quickly taking a bite of her food in front of her, hoping to recover smoothly. Her cheeks flushed mildly.
She couldn't help but worry that the man would think she was strange.
"I asked how long you're staying in town for?"
She shrugged her shoulders. "I don't have a plan. I just wanted to come down to see the ocean."
"Well where are you staying," he asked, forgetting about the food in front of him. "I should walk you back soon. This town clearly isn't safe."
Aurora shyly smiled. This guy was such a gentleman! Her mom would be so happy she had met him.
That smile quickly faded though when she realized she had made a mistake.
"Oh no."
"What," Keenan asked, looking very concerned.
"What's wrong?"
"It's just . . . ugh I'm so stupid. I didn't think."
"Aurora," he said gently, his blue eyes melting her heart. "What's wrong."
Aurora was taken back by this man. He was a stranger, yet he was so concerned for her. She already felt safe around him.
"I don't really have a place to stay. I kinda forgot-"
"Come stay with me," Keenan blurted.
"What," she asked surprised. He was joking . . . wasn't he?
"The couch in my dorm unfolds into a bed. It's in the living room so it's completley seperate than the bedrooms. You'll have your own space and free access to everything."
"Dorms though? I won't be allowed to stay there, will I?"
Keenan chuckled softly and shook his head.
"They won't care. They won't even notice. If the RA asks, I tell him that you're my girlfriend and you spend the night every night. Besides, he's a cool guy. He justs wants a free place to live for the semester."
By the look of absolute excitement on Keenan's face, Aurora knew that he really wanted this. He wasn't just trying to be nice. But should she trust him?
She opened her mouth, ready to ask that very question when he beat her too it.
"I would never want to make you uncomfortable," he said with a serious look.
"You can trust me. I'm a southern gentleman, my Mom would cut off my dick before I could think about touching you without your permission."
She breathed a sigh of relief. Well that was one problem taken care of.
"You might have to worry about my roommate though," he mumbled. Aurora's heart stopped. No! A big unexplainable part of her wanted this to work out! Where else would she stay?
"What about him," she asked nervously.
"He's loud having a regular conversation. I don't really know what your opinions are, but they better be on the same side as his because he'll be bringing over a lot of guys I imagine, and he won't bother to be quiet about it."
Aurora let out a relieved laugh. "He can do whatever he wants. I'm fine with it."
"Good," Keenan said with a full blown smile.
"Because he already threatened to make me watch chick flicks with him, but now I can pass that onto you."
