bad art advice

because i need somewhere to record the tips and tricks i use while drawing and i also need an excuse to post things

For some reason, all of us suck at drawing. That includes me, you, and everyone else. So here's some advice that all goes under a single category: art!

1: Give the character scoliosis and shoulder displacement. This makes the pose look alive, and not fucking boring like I am. No one in real life makes cool poses like that because they all have a skill issue, and your characters don't like having a skill issue. And hey- remove some bones while you're at it! Extra flexibility is always better, as long as it's to a certain extent. Just don't bend any joints backwards.

2: AVOID DRAWING HANDS. Mission abort if you need to have all 5 fingers displayed on your drawing, and if you do, sketch the outline of the hand first then go in and add the fingers. BUT DON'T DRAW HANDS IF YOU CAN'T. If you're one of those people who put stick lookin hands on your drawings, practice first. *cough* knucklehead *cough*.

3: Don't draw default expressions. Please, don't. Bro's gonna end up looking dead, and unless you're drawing dead bodies we do not want our character to die.

4: Stay somewhat proportionate, and make sure it makes sense. Just saying, but heads five times as long as the body including limbs doesn't look good.

That's all :)
