Jesus replied, 'You don't understand now what I am doing, but someday you will.'

-John 14:7

'You really should get a life.' She told him when he sat down next to her again, on the last pew in the church.

She saw him with two girls earlier today, after her class so she knew he actually had a life but she was feeling bitter and snarky and needed to take it out on someone.

He shrugged off her comment.

'Any progress?' He asked instead.

'If you're asking about my new found hate towards God, yes it's stronger than ever.' She replied with a spurious smile.

Her afternoons with him on the last pew at the back of the church was starting to have a cathartic effect on her. She noticed that this morning when she woke up just hating the world as opposed to her normal deep despise of it. And she didn't like it one bit.

'What? No depraving rants today?' He asked after a few minutes of silence.

She shot him an unimpressed look.

'Right, sorry.' He cringed. It almost made her smile. Almost.

'No. No rants.' She sighed.

'I don't know if I'm getting better. Or if I'm dealing with my grief. I just know that everyday, I somehow end up here. And you're here. And He's here. And I don't know... I just... It just happens. Do you know that I haven't been able to string together a single sentence to say to anyone. Literally anyone. My roommates think I'm loosing my mind. That loosing my brother somehow unhinged me and maybe it did. I mean who the hell pours her heart out to a complete stranger. Why do you even keep coming back? And don't say it's because you said you were gonna be here when I break because we both know that's not a reason. Why are you here?' She was spoiling for a fight and he wasn't going to give her one.

He wasn't going to let her shut him out. No way. So he just smiled and shrugged.

'You tell me.'

'That's not an answer.' She snapped. He glanced at her side view and then stared at the cross she was always fixated on.

'Maybe. There's just something about you.'

'I'm not a charity case! I don't need you.' She snapped.

'You need someone.' He replied quietly.

'I don't need anyone. You think you can make  me believe in God again. You're just here to prove that you can!' She glared.

'No.' He replied softly. 'I'm here to help.'

'Well I don't need help.' He snapped.

'Well, then I'm just here to sit. I'm allowed to do that, right?'

'Do whatever you want.' She grumbled, a light sheen of tears coated her eyes.

Author's Note:

Another ridiculously short chapter. I know. I'm not really good at writing this.

This chapter was just to illustrate that most times we push away people who want to help for various reasons. So don't ever give up on anyone just because he/she refused your help or something like that. Sometimes we just need to get our frustrations out and it's easier take it out on other people than to handle it ourselves.

And also in case you are on the receiving end of help as well, try not to be too contrary. The person offering help also has struggles he/she is dealing with. Appreciate the fact that they care enough to offer help rather than fight them.
