So many fun adventurers they've had. So much fun mixing worlds that never should've crossed. Look at where they are now? See the mess they've made? Harry Potter, the chosen one, petrified by the Basilisk and stuck under a fallen bookshelf. Emma Swan, trying to fight a war she can't fight if she doesn't have the right pieces. The Avengers, misguided, stuck under the control of a big headed God who plans the destroy everything. Henry Mills, left unprotected in a sleeping curse, slowly dwindling away.
Not to mention that camp of theirs, charred and burned to the ground. My forces trumping on the surface hunting the survivors.
This was my plan you know. The necklaces. The war. The mess. The...Chaos.
Figured it out have you? That suspicion that there was more to it than the unwitting villains, the pathetic pawns on the board. All for one little thing...
Perseus Jackson will be mine.
Even if I have to kill every last one of his friends to do it.
Wanna to watch it?
*******
Travis Stoll charged into a mass of Flying monkeys swinging his dagger hard, trying not to show how scared he is. He felt a cold creeping feeling billowing against his neck. He could almost hear an ominous force laughing in his face.
Travis Stoll, Are you ready to die?
Travis felt like he could feel everything around him. Slow motion, his ADHD warping time like never before. Each second felt like his last. Each breath felt like him was breathing on borrowed time. He could hear the signs of Hook and Robin near him fighting as if they had nothing to lose. Travis on the other hand, felt like he had everything to lose.
Screams echoed all around him, his vision a blur of gray fur and meshing teeth.
"For Connor." He chanted. "Stay alive for Connor."
His weapon sliced through the stomach of another flying ape, yellow blood flicked out the End sizzling the ground before it exploded into dust. He slammed his blade backwards impaling another monster. He whipped around finishing the job.
Agony screamed through his veins. Giant teeth sunk into his shoulder, flooding his mind with pain. A horrible scream spilled out of his mouth. Panic contorted his brain cutting like the edge of a knife in his thoughts.
"NO!" An abrupt scream echoed across the battlefield that was once main street. A women stood above the head the monkeys responded to her commands. Every monster stopped. Hook slashed through one with his hook, Robin finished the one top of him.Charming raised his sword prepared to take on this woman himself. But she didn't even look at him. Her eyes held a fire in them and they bored into Travis's soul. Her face was a permanent sneer.
One look and he knew who it was, despite his pain muddled thoughts. This was the Wicked Witch's true identity. This was the face his brother saw.
"This one's Mine." She hissed.
Zelena you pathetic fool! I might have kept him around for enjoyment! No I didn't feel like killing the older of the Stolls. He was too weak have the honor to be killed by me. But what about his brother...?
*******
Connor Stoll felt stuck. His heart beating barely at all. He wanted to scream. He wanted to shout. But his mind was drifting father and farther from his body. He didn't want to leave. Who knew the effects that magical lightning could have on him? How much longer can he last without the proper treatment?
Connor Stoll, why are you still fighting?
His eyes were closed, his other senses dulled. He felt useless. Helpless. But he had to get back. He had a life to live. He wasn't going to let those creepy sock knitting, Fates decide when he was going to die. He couldn't leave yet.
Travis flashed in his mind. His big headed brother, his crazy wondrous plans, who else could he prank side by side with? They were brothers. They were Demigods. They did everything together. He wasn't going to end that.
Katie swirled to mind. His son to be sister in law. He could see it. He couldn't let Travis ruin his own life. He had an awesome girlfriend. And Connor was sure she wasn't dead yet.
Then blossomed the best picture ever. Miranda. She was why he was going to keep fighting. For her. For a hope of "Them"
Ugh. You poor misled imbecile. True love? What a waste of time. Didn't anyone tell you? Greek Heroes don't get happy endings. Now I have to let you live. Because killing you would be more merciful than the heart break your working towards.
*******
Frank Zhang didn't know how he did it. Out of the frying pan into the fire? He followed the other flying Monkeys. He shifted from the wings and fangs to his human form donning his bow and arrow dangerously. All his anger from the past days came spilling out. He was angry at Zelena, for kidnapping him the first place, and putting him under a sleeping spell. He was angry at Hazel for leaving him with more questions than answers, for leaving him at all. He was angry at the Stoll brothers who Hazel seemed more concerned about than her own boyfriend. He was angry at the omnipresent force that kept meddling in his happily ever after.
Frank Zhang, how long can you hide behind that anger?
He fired another arrow at the endless sea of monstrosities. He felt the madness of this battle ripping through his muscles. His hands moved like it was rehearsed, his mind blank. His body switched between animals attacking like animals...
For a second he was an animal. A vicious red glow followed his forms, a blessing that energized his senses. Nothing stood in his way. Nothing was left to stand in his way.
He's dangerous. Almost too dangerous. He's a warrior. But his perception of the field is all wrong. He is afraid of his gift. He's afraid to hurt people. No he's not a warrior, more like a wildcard. He could be useful in the future. I know just what to do with him...
"Enough!" A scream echoed through out the field. Zelena stood straight, her face twisted with so much anger Frank could feel it coming off of her in waves. Travis stumbled warily opposite of her. His shoulder was slick with blood. He looked drained and in pain, barely holding his own.
Zelena seemed to think otherwise. She swept her arms out wide, a black and green funnel of smoke twisting from her palms until the empty space was filled with a figure. A boy.
Henry.
"Henry!" Multiple shots echoed from every where, but the boy didn't stir.
Zelena smirked. Her other hand clasped something from her neck. A necklace with a triangle pendant. She ripped it off tossing into the ground beside her.
"Drop your weapon Demigod, or I throw this little mortal into a portal to who knows where."
Frank felt his entire vision turn turn topside turvy. Travis froze. Pressure was building. Thunder boomed overhead. Fear was evident in the son of Hermes eyes. Then the dagger slid from his hand.
She cackled. Literally a cackle.
Frank knew what was happening before he realized he was moving.
Green fire erupted from Zelena's and she heaved it at Travis. Travis didn't get a chance to move. He screamed slamming backwards at least twenty feet. No one was close enough to stop her.
A black spiral wound up from the necklace lightning of colors flashing from inside. She shoved Henry towards it, his limp, sleeping form tumbling into the black abyss. Frank dove forward with all his might. His fingers scraped the cloth of Henry's jacket. He teeter for a second his body half in the portal, half clinging desperately to the sidewalk.
Then he tipped forward.
Then he was falling.
Then everything went Black.
*******
Ah, Poor Nico Di Angelo, He didn't know what to do. Fighting giant snakes was never in his How to be a Demigod Guide. Especially snakes that don't disintegrate if you stab them. He was seething with anger, he felt betrayed, something he was sick of. Everyone betrays him. Bianca, Percy, Minos, Lou Ellen,...No one will ever except an outcast like you.
Nico Di Angelo, why do you still try to protect those who will only ever stab you in the back?
He swung his sword hitting the snake in the side of its face. He leapt away as it hissed at him, it's eyes glistening like disco balls. It was like trying to fight blinded, trying to fight the Basilisk. He'd rather not die again.
He could hear the chaos ensuing around him. He'd always been good at fighting in the dark, mainly because even the darkest parts of the underworld, even in Tartatrus, he could see perfectly fine. But it was different fighting with his eyes closed. He's fighting style was awkward and sloppy and he was afraid to hit someone on his side.
So far he was only alive because the twisting writhing form of the snake had very little visibility and room to move.
He's perfect. Everything he's doing is just screaming, "kill me now!" And it can all happen with a flick of my wrist...
The snake hissed loudly, sounding like finger nails on a chalkboard somehow. Nico dove out of each of the reptile as it bit into the air he'd been standing on.
Leo and Lou Ellen were gone, Annabeth was trying to lodge her dagger underneath one of the scales on the tail, Ron petrified huddled a corner still unhealthily pale, and Hermione was yelling at him to help as she struggled to pull a stiff body from under a fallen bookshelf.
"How do you kill it?!" Nico yelled to her. She panicked, screaming something about a hat and men named drake. The snake launched itself at Nico a rain of books and dust falling as it fought against the columns that restrained it.
At first Nico thought they would be okay. Surely those old powerful stone columns that had been standing for centuries could hold back a Basilisk.
{Somewhere far away, three old ladies looked at each other, pausing slightly in their knitting and smiled. "Lol, Noob!"}
With a startlingly crack, a black flash hit a column, spraying mortar and chucks of stone hurling at Nico. Nico cried out, covering as much of himself as possible. A projectile slammed into the back of his head knocking him over with such force.
The room blurred, pain erupted in his skull, his hands struggled to lift him from the ground. The hissing was right behind him, his dull vision caught the bright sharp bone teeth, and its head dove forward-
"Protango!"
What?! Who dares-!
Luke grabbed Nico hauling him out of the way as the head of the reptile slammed hard into a casted shield. He snapped his wand in a quick rotating motion, explosion of fireworks danced around them causing snake to howl in pain and retreat.
That little son of a Hydra! Isn't he dead?! How dare he interrupt my pets feeding time! I will send him to the Void!
"Nico, listen to me, I've bought you time!" Luke said. "I know why I'm alive again, it was to save you. I was right about who's behind this! Nico, don't trust the man with the cloak of-"
Lightning cracked, the hair on the back on Nico's neck stood on end. Energy imploded inward on Luke knocking Nico away. He landed awkwardly in between shelf of a bookcase. But when the Son of Hades looked back up, Luke wasn't there anymore. In his place stood a charred area and a large Snake closing on him dangerously fast.
"Reducto!"
Nico ducked as a spell quizzed by his ear cracking against the hide of the snake. Ron stood behind him his eyes opened the tiniest amount and shaking terribly bad.
"Bambarda!"
Hermione appeared on his other side flinging complicated spells at the monstrous snake. Each one seemed to hurt it, but only at minimal amounts. It just seemed to be getting irritated with her. Hermione's frizzy brown hair bobbed with each motion sweeping strands across her face.
"Go!" She yelled nodding towards the doors. "We'll handle this! Make sure Professor Ellen doesn't get away!"
Nico hesitated. It seemed unlikely that they could hold their own against the battling giant, but they had a better chance with spells than he did with his sword.
He turned and ran.
Stupid bravery. I knew I should have eliminated the race of Wizards when I had the chance. You've gotten lucky Di Angelo. I'll spare you for now...
*******
Leo Valdez couldn't do this. His heart alone was going to kill him. "Why?" He screamed. She looked at him with pity, like he was a charity case she was only doing so it would make her look good. She wasn't the same girl he fell blindly in love with. She was cold and hurtful. Is this what happened to things he loved? They turn on him? Or they die? Is this how his friends would become?
Leo Valdez, How can you fight the mythological monsters, when you're too busy fighting your inner demons?
"I don't have time for this, Valdez." She sneered. She twisted her staff around like lightning, her robe sleeved swishing upwards and revealing a tattoo of a skull and a snake.
Leo barely had time to register that before another beam of energy flung at him. He dove behind a table wincing as the spell hit the wood incinerating it completely.
Lou Ellen turned away from him slamming her staff on the carpeted floor sparks flying from the figure head crystal ball.
"Lord Voldemort will rise again!" She shouted. "Accio, Life potion!"
"No!" Leo dove towards her attempting to mess up her spell, but he slammed face first into some type of spellbound wall. All at once he felt thousand of jolts of electricity coursing through his veins. His tongue tasted like metal and limbs shocked out of feeling the force rebounded on him throwing him into another bookshelf.
Lou Ellen stood rigid awaiting something her eyes narrowing. She let out an inhuman howl and flung a spell at the ceiling, the entire stone masterpiece crumbling into dust and crashing chucks of mortar.
"Where is it?!" She screamed, rounding on him. "Where did he hide it?!"
Leo was just as confused as her. Nico had been with them the entire time. How could he have hid it without one of them knowing? He glanced over a bookshelves seeing Nico duck away from the writhing snake as venom rained from its mouth. He pulled away quickly his robes smoking.
What if he didn't hide it?
What if he had no idea it was gone the first place?
What if it was stolen?
Amusing, watching your thoughts, Leo Valdez. I might just let this play out. I would love to watch Lou Ellen blast you back into the underworld again. I almost died laughing the first time, especially after her fake display of waterworks.
Leo knew exactly where the last vial was. He couldn't believe he'd been that stupid earlier. He knew that if he didn't get the potion before Ellen everything would fall. It would be the end off the world.
And by the smile on Lou Ellen's face she knew it, too.
"Weasely."
Her eyes flashed and she sent a smirk at Leo.
His limbs were heavy, everything in him screamed to stop moving. He'd never felt worse in his life. His life that was about to be incredibly miserable if he didn't move now.
"Ellen..." He begged the word sounding thick and pathetic off his tongue. "Don't.."
For a brief moment of stillness, Leo stared into her eyes.
This is it. If she listens, if she stops, if she proves his love curse wrong...Then this would be boring. Maybe my intervention is needed...
He watched her fierce, stunning, always glaring eyes grow darker an abnormal black and purple aura glistened around her, making her look untrustworthy, dare he say evil.
Then she bolted out the doors.
Leo's body screamed in protest, his mind set aflame in pain. He wanted to give up and curl into a ball in cry. Everything he touched either burned or broke. He shoved himself up stabs of pain arcing through his legs. He ran after her.
Flames curled off his hair, he threw off his thick, bulky robes, his mind though in a chaotic mess had one goal: stop Lou Ellen. She wasn't on his side anymore, she probably never was. She was just messing with him, manipulating him into playing her game. Tricking him into giving her what she wanted.
And she would stop at nothing to get it.
His heart thudded in his chest seemingly two times the max speed.
She would kill if necessary. And if he didn't stop her, George Weasely wouldn't the only one joining his brother in the underworld. (A/N: ok, that sounded extremely mean...) The vials on his desk that he was playing with when he left...He should've known. The sadness in the former twins eyes, the strange statement...part of Leo was glad George Weasely had nicked the potion, otherwise Lou Ellen would have it now.
He saw her ahead of him, and he took a chance wincing, His hands caught fire and smoke flew the hall. Lou Ellen growled throwing a shield up and from the smoke Leo barely had time to duck a bolt of lightning that jerked right by arm. He rushed forward his lungs screaming for air, his limbs screaming to stop, but he kept moving somehow.
They twisted around a corner, Leo catching the helm of her blue robe. Lou Ellen jerked away skidding him into a wall. He recovered barely. His head ringing from the collision. Lou Ellen stood over him sneering.
"I have no intention of killing you, Valdez." She hissed sounding slightly like the Basilisk. "Don't make me change my mind."
She swished around, but Leo snagged her ankle. She fell and Leo leapt up running for the Transfiguration classroom.
"VALDEZ!" She screamed a purple ball of power zoomed by his ear hitting a column. It exploded flinging marble at him. He blindly reached into his toolbelt pulling a respectively sized hammer out and chucked it behind him. A golden flash ignited on his right, a piece of stone chipping his cheek.
He could see the room ahead, he could see the door opening. George peeked his head out, dumbstruck by the sight he saw.
"The vial!" Leo yelled. "Don't let her have it!"
He felt his leg catch he body sprawling to the floor as vines wrapped around his legs at inhuman speeds, tendrils of plant tying him down.
"George!" Lou Ellen screamed. "He's trying to trick you!" She faked the innocence her voice her blond head bobbing thick with dust and caked from the fight.
Leo ignited the plants the vines sizzling to ashes as The Slytheren professor flew right over him. He lashed out finding her arm and throwing her back.
"Don't listen to her! She's a death eater!"
"I'm not! He's trying to bring back Voldemort!"
"She's got the tattoo!"
"He's faking it!"
"She set the Basilisk loose in the library!"
"He stole the Maraurder's Map!"
"George if you value anything your brother died for, don't let her have it!"
"George, please! You have to believe me! I would never do anything against this school! I only act mean so kids will listen me! Please! Don't let him have it!"
George looked between them, Leo's face matted with dust and a thin strip blood trickling from his cheek, Lou Ellen's hair sticking up at odd angels, her face ashy from smoke and dirt.
Leo was prepared to fight for it, he was prepared if George gave to her to take her out, he was ready to defend himself if Lou Ellen ruthlessly attacked him. He wasn't not ready for George to turn and run the other way.
Well he wasn't. Lou Ellen yelled a mangled word a green ball of energy slamming into the red haired kid. He was thrown forward the glass vial spinning in the air. George crumpled against the floor.
Leo dove forward the vial grazing his finger tips.
"Bambarda!" Something punched into his stomach he crashed to the floor toplling over himself until his head cracked against the wall. Everything came out like a blur. A hazy swirl of a picture. A picture he didn't want to see.
The picture of Lou Ellen clasping the life potion in her hand, smiling, a black aura so thick around her it looked like her shadow.
Yeah, I guess that's okay. I'll leave him there for her amusement. Actually...He seems lost. Maybe I'll recruit him also. I don't know. A fire munchkin and a Water bender...very destructive...very chaotic forces...
*******
Percy Jackson felt something worse than any pain he'd ever had. Like he was being ripped in two. A painful feeling flooded his veins. He wasn't prone to this emotion that swept through him. Hate so extreme the minor God before him stepped back. He was done being a pawn. He wasn't bowing for anyone, ever again. His mind rattled and at one fleeting moment, everything turned RED.
Perseus Jackson, Do you know you will never stop being a pawn? Especially my pawn? Your fatal flaw it's loyalty. Loyalty that will be to me.
Do you feel it Perseus? I'm there with you now. Will you let go of your morals and fight back? These Avengers aren't your family. You barely even know them. It's just a couple kicks and a punch and flick of your hand...
NO!
Percy trembled at the thoughts running through his head. Thoughts that weren't his. Alien in his mind. His heart hammered and he felt his chest clasping on itself. His head pounded like he was being attacked a baseball bat. He didn't regret thinking it, because even for just a millisecond, he wanted it more than anything he'd ever wanted.
He had wanted to kill everyone.
And that scared him even more than anything else.
Loki stood over him. Percy could sense that behind his confident smirk was wary. He saw the light in Percy's eyes flash. He had seen the fiery depths of hated consume the son of the sea god. And Percy could feel, with a power that wasn't his, that Loki was terrified of him.
Percy, Percy, Percy...you should rejoice. That's a good thing. Don't hide from your true personal.
There it was again. Burning obsession, crashing to attack everything closest to him.
People on the sidewalk pointed and screamed, somewhere close police forces were stacking up a barricade of cars blocking the roads, Smoke rose from the sight were Tony's iron outfit had crashed and fire openly spread from the black jet that had crumpled into another building. Rain pierced the air like bullets and knives and despite all the mess, the noises, the panic, Percy felt like he was alone, trapped an empty world that consisted of only him and the Avengers and Loki.
Animal instincts tried to over run him, control his movements in a jerky, unconnected way, but his human respond side fought back.
You can't always fight yourself Percy. If you won't give in, I might just have to make you. Perhaps a push is needed?
*******
Annabeth Chase bounded around the corner of the hall. Brilliant flashed and bangs casted beside her, as she skidded down another hall. Yells and screams could be hard along the noises and spells. Harry's invisibility cloak slid in her hands. She ducked narrowly avoiding the explosive chunks of stone taken off in a spell that surely would have killed her otherwise.
Annabeth Chase, Do you think Percy would feel it you died?
A cold feeling washed over her, as if a dark entity had started watching her every move. She wrapped the cloak of silk around herself. It wasn't as good as her original Yankees cap, but for now, while she was trying to stay alive, this was just fine.
Her feet lead her hurriedly to another classroom, closing the door behind her. Surely they couldn't see her. Surely they wouldn't know where she was. Wait, did she know where she was?
Her breath came out in short narrow puffs, and she wished she had Percy with her. Her hands trembled gripping the ring on her necklace, the silver and green embroidery glistening the dark room.
Her heart thudded in her chest, but clutching that little piece of metal gave her a slight amount of comfort. Percy was out there. He was looking for her. Our he was waiting for her to come back to him. Because it wasn't just any ring, that had replaced her father's on her beaded chain, it was a promise ring.
Promise of their future together. Promise of never losing each other. A promise, a comfort, aand little piece of Percy that would always be with her, no matter what stupid thing her seaweed brain did.
...No. Just....No. Don't you know anything? Aren't you suppose to be a daughter of Athena?! Greek Heroes don't get happy endings! Pathetic mortal. There is no true loves kiss that can save you. Percy is mine!
"Percy..." She whispered. She'd never been so terrified of something in her life. The Death eaters were there. They were coming for her. Lou Ellen was coming for her.
Emotions swirled in her, betrayal, anger, terror, longing, her body making no sound. The halls outside the classroom silent. Her fingers held steady onto the clear bottle. The liquid making no sound sloshing in the vial.
Then...
The door exploded.
Annabeth screamed covering herself with the cloak as she fell. Humanoid figures marched into the room, with robes coal black and uniformed metal masks identical to the others. Wands waved in the air, cackling from the back as one person pushed to the front.
She wasn't wearing a mask, rather, but displaying her crazy face beneath a literal jungle of black hair. Her face was pale, her tongue sticking out, suggesting she was anticipating something, or she was just plain crazy.
Annabeth assumed it was a bit of both.
The women's arm was etched in black magic, a skull and a moving snake. She wasn't suppose to be alive. And she proudly proclaimed it. Belletrix La Strange had out witted death. And now she was working with Lou Ellen to bring back the Dark Lord.
"Where is she?" She asked the air sniffing the smile never leaving her crazy lips."Come out, demigod! Come out and Play."
Annabeth didn't move. She was pretty sure she wasn't breathing. The woman was trying to kill her. She'd made a point to hunt her through at least nine stories of classrooms and secret passages. All because she'd trucked Lou Ellen and stolen the vial.
She wished she had her dagger, that it wasn't plunged deep into the skin under one of the hundreds of scales in the Basilisk. Or that Percy was there. She really wanted Percy there.
Belletrix stepped closer to her spot on the floor, wielding her wand furiously like the novice demigods at their first sword fighting class.
"This is No fun!" She stomped her foot like a five year old. "I said COME OUT!"
The wand whipped around her head flicking bangs and flashes of colors the desks and papers and assorted objects into jumbled heaps. Lightning cracked from the wand, dark and black and unnatural, and it seemed maybe just Annabeth to find her exact spot.
She dove out of the way, catching a glimpse the startled look on everyone's face, including Belletrix's. She did cast the spell right? Right? Annabeth tumbled into a desk, before she could think everything out, the cloak sliding off her head and shoulder, revealing her upper body to the Thantos eaters.
Belletrix grinned hauntingly, Annabeth was sure that that smile was worse than her memories of Tart- the darkest part of the underworld.
"Play time!" She screeched. Annabeth gulped feeling frozen to the ground, her eyes staying up the end of the crooked stick. Every limb felt numb, and even if she could've spoken, she wasn't sure wits could have helped her. And Belletrix seemed to know this.
"Cruc-!"
"Stupify!"
Wizard spells jumped around the room, as Belletrix's wand flew from her hand. The Death eaters roared a panic, falling over each other as other robed familiar faces shoved through the doorway. Annabeth squeezed the vial in her hand afraid to move and risk getting hit by a wayward spell.
It was over in seconds, but her breathing was still heavily uneven. In front of her stood Ginny, Neville and Luna. Except the wizards hadn't lowered their wands yet.
"What are you? What's going on?" Ginny demanded, "Where's Harry?"
Annabeth started at her, trying to find the simplest way to explain. "To Hades with it." She mumbled. "I'm a demigod, half mortal half god, and all are Nico, Lou Ellen and Leo, and trust me when i say have barely any better a grasp on this situation than you do.
"Lou Ellen is trying to bring back Voldemort-" She paused as Both Ginny and Neville inhaled sharply at the Dark Lord's name, "-Using this potion that I stole. Last time I saw Harry was in the library and I wouldn't suggest running off blindly because there's a Basilisk in there."
Ginny paled considerably, and even Luna's dreamy face looked like there was trouble in paradise. Neville though, Neville looked like he completely understood.
"That would explain why Nico wasn't affected by the killing curse." He nodded.
"Wait, What?!" The girls cried looking at him.
"Nico, he and Leo were running around with Professor Ellen when Death Eaters apperated in and shot Nico. It was really weird. I thought he was a goner, but instead he kinda just glared at the shocked wizards. Then he did something even creepier, he laughed! He called them idiots and said he was something like the Prince of shadows, savoir of Olympus, son of Hades. Then he stabbed them with his sword."
Annabeth swallowed uneasily. "We have to go." She said, with hopefully more confidence than she thought she had. "Demigods and wizards were never suppose to meet, Styx, Styx, triple Styx! "
She looked down at the potion in her hand curiosity bubbling over. "Why would Persephone give them an extra?"
"Who?"
"Never mind." Annabeth said. "Nico needs to get us out of here. Clearly whatever majestic spell was protecting the school is gone- LOOK OUT!" She tackled Luna out of the way as a spell rebounded off the wall behind them.
Ginny whirled around a flaming orange flash. Her glare was like daggers at Belletrix who was still smiling like a kid on Christmas. Projectiles of light rocketed from the end of her wand.
"REDUCTO!" Ginny screamed. "And stay dead you stupid -*****"
Belletrix exploded into black dust landing on the floor while Ginny kicked the ashes around, a certain amount of personal hatred in her kicks.
"Okay, leaving." Neville muttered he tugged The youngest Weasely's arm and pulled her away as she was still shouting profanities at the air. "I last saw Leo and Nico in the courtyard. Leo was throwing Fireballs."
Annabeth raced after them each step a new wave of anxiety crashing over her. Questions bubbled in her swelling in size. She prickled over the necklace trying vainly to piece together the words. Who was in charge? Who was playing mastermind? Who stole her away from her beloved camp, away from her friends, away from Percy?
Oh Lord of the Void! Not this junk again! Does she even realize he doesn't think of her that often? For Void's sake, he framed her as a terrorist! Oh just skip all this wasteful emotions, this the good part!
Walls and pictures started looking familiar, a flicker of recognition flashed through Annabeth's mind. This way! She dashed ahead of the group, almost tripping as the concrete sidewalk gave into an uneven stone pathway.
She expected to see multicolored flashes, hear explosions and screams, see Leo wrestling Lou Ellen. Maybe Nico would have his sword out jabbing at the encoding death eaters, or the wizards fending an attack. Dust would fill the air and smoke singing her senses. She'd have to fight over to the boys, possibly stealing a wand or borrowing Nico's spare dagger.
But what she found wasn't what she thought she would. Everything was silent. Everything looked the same, no lingering smoke or dust, no crumpled stone walls and chipping stonework. It didn't even look like someone had been there.
"Where-?"
"Flipendo!" Annabeth whirled around as Ginny and Luna were flung into the air, Ginny slamming into a stone column and Luna hitting the cobble stone head first. Neither moved. Annabeth started unbelieving at Neville who's wand only shook a little in his hand.
Before she could move Neville swished his wand at her, his voice cracking but the word rang in the emptiness.
"Immobulus!"
Annabeth's entire body froze, despite her fighting her limbs stuck in the ordinal place. She tried to scream but even her mouth was sealed, only mere grunts of frustration exhaling through her lips.
"I'll take that." Neville plucked the vial from her hands confidently strolling to the center of the courtyard.
A groan was heard and out of the corner of her eye Annabeth saw Luna struggle to get up.
"Neville!" She moaned, her sleek blond hair trailing with blood. "What are you doing?!"
He looked at her flashes of an internal battle flicking in his eyes. But anger won out. "I'm bringing back the Dark Lord! Voldemort! That whole war was just the beginning! Just a ploy to gain your trust! My master promised something better, he promised me power! Enough to take down even Harry Potter!
"He's just using you Neville! Voldemort didn't care-"
He cut her off with a laugh."I don't care about Voldemort! Don't you see Luna? This is bigger than that! My Master is bigger than that! Chaos is bigger than that!"
The name of power echoed dangerously loudly, and the Gryffindor's hand tipped the silver liquid hitting the cobblestone with a sizzling effect.
Chaos.
Immediately flakes of black paper pulled out of the air and the ground lumping together like a human sized puzzle. She could hear wails and screams coming from the mass.
Chaos....
It complused and jerk moving like disgusting like spiders. Millions of like spiders. Annabeth's blood ran could. The jerking heaved piling up as more and more pieces fit in.
Chaos had been messing with her life. Chaos had separated her from Percy. Chaos had twisted Neville and Lou Ellen and who knows who else. Chaos created this thing, this entity of evil in front of her.
Neville stood back the smile on his face not matching his eyes. Why was he doing this? Luna screamed at him to stop it she grabbed his arm but he yanked her off. She fell to the ground her knees scraped and sobbing.
Then the mass stopped. The puzzle completed. The pale dead corpse figure a shroud of black cloak a smooth durable wand in its hand. The worse part were was his snake eyes, cold and red, like seeing pure fear and evil. And those terrifying eyes stared right at her.
"ARVADA KEDAVRA!"
Nico and Leo busted into the yard, Leo yelling and Nico diving towards her. She could see his oxyn eyes, the ones that forever held grief and late goodbyes, she could see Leo's flaming hair his disbelieving expression.
