The next morning I walked over to the tables for breakfast, I saw Thomas I sat next to him, Minho was right in front of me, I looked at Thomas and smiled then he returned it. Minho noticed and smirked at me, I rolled my eyes and went to eating my food.

"You nervous greenie," Minho asks Thomas

"No," he states, I loved his confidence.

"Well we should get going," I say and they agree.

(Thomas's POV)

We run through the maze and went through the blades, I hear a beeping noise come from Minho's bag so I pull out the metal cylinder.

We followed it to a big wall and when it clicked and stopped beeping the wall began to rise up.

I revealed two other walls the were rising up too, at the end a small circle hole in the wall that opened up. We heard the same clicking the grieved made the other night.

"Come on let's get out of here," y/n says, we run out to see the blades moving.

"Come on," y/n says, we sprint through the blades and I get separated from y/n and Minho.

"Thomas come on," y/n screams, I run as fast as I can and run through the blades to crash into them slightly.

We run out of the blades and a raising piece of cement which the ceiling of it was moving downwards. We crawled throwing It and before the walls crashed together y/n and I fell to the ground together.

"you okay?" I ask her.

"Yep come on," she says getting up off of me, Minho elbows her and smirks which she blushes and playfully punches him looking back at me and smiles.

When we get back we go check on alby, he was sitting on the bed with his back to us. Y/n goes and kneels down by him.

"Alby are you ok?" She asks but he doesn't respond.

"We think we found a way out?" She says

"No, no we can't leave y/n they won't let us," he says.

"Who won't let us," she asks

"Them," he says she looks up at me in confusion.

"Well alby I-" Winston suddenly bursts through the door panting.

"Winston what's going on," I ask

"Th-the doors, their not closing," my heart drops.

We all run to the doors which were still open, everyone crowding around.

"What do we do?" Chuck asks

"Go to he council hall Chuck, barricade the doors," I say, he runs off.

"Newt, Minho, go get as many weapons as you can" them and a few others run off

"Gally get everyone to hide in the forest," he nods and everyone follows him.

I hear the clicking and metal hitting the cement sound, y/n grabs my hand.

"Let's go kick some griever ass," she says and I smile, we run off. We had to protect the glade.

We run around hiding and fighting off grievers when y/n trips which slows us down and the griever stands in front of us.

I stand in front of y/n preparing to be taken by the griever, then out of nowhere three spears pierce into the grievers side, it was Newt Minho and Teresa.

We all run to the council wall Zart and Winston had carried Alby and Chuck was sitting waiting for us.

We all sit there in silence when suddenly a griever tail brakes through the ceiling and grabs Chuck.

"CHUCK!" Y/n screams grabbing onto his arm and I grab her waist before the griever pulls them both out.

"Pull,"

"Don't let go Chuck,"

"Yeah no shit,"

The griever stinger comes out about to sting him then alby takes a large stick and start hitting the griever tail aggressively with it. The stinger flys off and the griever tail retracts out of the ceiling.

"Is it gone?" Someone asks, then the griever tail comes back and grabs alby.

"ALBY," I scream, y/n and I pull his arms.

"Get them out," he says to the two of us and the griever pulls him out.

"No!" I scream and run out of the hut everyone screaming after me.

I look around at the flame engulfed glade, I held the stinger in my hand. I see a figure storming over to us when I realize it was Gally, he throws a hard punch at my jaw.

"Thomas!" Y/n yells and Gally goes in for another punch, instead of it hitting me y/n punches him and he falls hard on the ground.

"Are you ok," she asks holding my cheeks

"Yep I'm fine," I say getting up

"Y/n look what he's done to our glade," Gally says to her, she looks around teary eyed. They begin to argue and I pick up the stinger again. I need to remember I need to know what happened. I stab the stinger into my leg, the pain trickles through my body and I fall to the ground. The last thing I see is y/n's face wide eyed and in tears looking at me.

(Y/n's POV)

"Someone get the antidote!" I yell and Teresa stabs it into his arm. Suddenly two boys grab my arms and begin to pull me away, two other boys pull Thomas too, we're both dragged to the pit where they throw me in first. I land hard on my butt and then they throw Thomas, I catch his head from hitting the ground and they close the door.

"Damn it Gally," I say as he comes up to the door

"It's the only way I'm sorry,"

"This is the only way huh," I ask

"Your being banished tomorrow," he says and I reply with flipping him off.

I sit there with Thomas's head resting on my legs, I stroke his hair memorizing his face.

When the morning comes, Newt Minho and Chuck all come to the pit and talk to me, then I feel Thomas's head move slightly. I look down too see his eyes blinking open.

"Thomas?" I say, he wakes up and sits up pulling me into a hug, I snug my head into his neck with tears falling from my eyes. I pull away.

"They are going to banish us," I say, Thomas sits and thinks for a little while.

"I have a plan," he says then he explains everything we have to do and we all agree.

Newt Minho and Chuck all walk off and Thomas pretends to sleep, then some boys come and open the pit doors pulling me and Thomas out. I watch as they drag Thomas's body through the grass and to the maze doors.

"It won't help anything by banishing us Gally," I yell

"Oh this isn't a banishing," he says as I notice two wooden poles in the ground.

"This is an offering," he says and I start to struggle.

"What?!" I scream

"You really think I'm gonna let Thomas back into the maze after what he's done?" He says I look at Thomas who was laying on the ground.

"Tie 'em up," he says, no one moves.

"I said tie them up," he yells, they hesitate but do it anyway.

They tie my hands around the pole and before they pick up Thomas to do the same, his body springs to life and he punches one of the boys in the face, I kick the one that tied me up in the crotch. Newt Minho and Teresa fight a few boys and Chuck runs over so that gallys group and mine are separate.

"We can't stay here forever Gally," I say

"Don't listen to her she's just trying to scare you." He says

"I'm not trying to scare you I'm scared," I say

"But I know a way out, so if anyone wants to come with me then let's go," I say, Gally laughs thinking no one will join me but his smile fades when four or five boys walk over to our group.

"Good luck against the grievers," he says and we all were off into the maze.

We went back through the blades but before we went to where we were before Thomas stops everyone, he listens for a moment.

"There's a griever Isn't there," says Chuck, he nods.

"Ok guys let's get out of here, for alby," I say and then I pull Thomas close you me.

"And don't get yourself killed out there," I say

"Same to you," he says pulling our lips together, we then charge at the griever and fight it off.

I here Chuck scream and look over to see two more grievers come our way, Teresa and Chuck run behind us and go over to the end of the hall to the circle hole in the wall.

"There's a code, eight digits!" Teresa yells.

"Minho what's the maze sequence," Thomas asks

"Uh  7...1...5...2...6...4...8...3" he says, the hole opens up and everyone jumps in before the griever was squashed by the cement wall, suddenly the hole closes and I scream.

We were In complete darkness for a few seconds, then the other side opened and everyone walked out, it led us to a long hallway going right and left and lights hung from the ceiling. We all walked in the right direction until we found a door saying "exit" we starred at it for a few seconds.

"Seriously," fry says

We all walk in and the sight I saw was bone chilling, bloody bodies, broken glass, bullet holed walls. 'What happened' I thought, I look up from a computer to see Thomas in front of me at another computer, it seemed so familiar.

Suddenly a video started playing because newt had pressed a button, a reddish white haired lady in a white lab coat was on the screen, she said her name was Ava Paige and she told us about the scorch and the flare and why we were there. All our questions were answered. At the end of the video the lady held up a small pistol to her temple and pulled the trigger, me and Thomas looked away and I noticed her body In the other room.

"What do we do now?" Someone asked, a door suddenly opened to reveal daylight, I looked over to see. 

"Let's get out of here," Thomas says

"No," a voice comes behind us

"We can't leave, not now," it was Gally.

"Gally we did we're out," Thomas says and we notice the black veins on his neck meaning he'd been stung.

"No I belong to the maze, we all do," he says pointing a gun at us.

"Gally no!" I yell, it all happened so fast, i saw a spear fly through the air and Chuck fly in front of Thomas, and a gun go off. By the time I realized what had happened Gally was on the ground with a spear through his chest.

"T-Thomas?" I here Chuck say breathlessly.

I spin him around to see blood gushing from his chest.

"CHUCK," I scream as he falls to the floor gasping for air.

"Chuck, no no no no no no," i say as Thomas holds chucks head

"Take this," he say handing me a wooden figure he made for his parents.

"No no Chuck don't give me this," I say tears filling my eyes.

"Please," he says i take it from his hands and watch the life leave his eyes and his final breath. I feel the pit in my stomach and I fall back with my hands over my face.

"No, no no no Chuck wake up," I panic in disbelief.

"CHUCK WAKE UP!" I scream

"Damn it," Thomas yells

Suddenly soldiers come running in through the door that had recently opened.

They guards dragged us out and into a helicopter where I sat next to Thomas holding onto his hand tightly. I watched as we passed the broken glade and thought about the life I had there, the friends I made, the friends I lost. A tear left my eye and I placed my head on Thomas's shoulder soon falling asleep.
