Chapter 19 Scare

Third person pov.

Dove sat there staring in shock that Tony Stark sat beside her, but what really shocked her was that she was his soulmate. She was already shocked to know that she was a soulmate to Star Lord aka Peter Quill.... but now Tony Starks, everything was so shocking and overwhelming to her. She dreamt of being his soulmate and it becoming true is so... overwhelming and shocking.

Tony could tell by her facial expression that she was in shock and he chuckled and shook his head. Dove's face goes instantly red as she sees this action of his. His chuckle and smile made her heart flutter, "Hello my dear, I'm Tony Stark and what's yours beautiful?" he asks her cheekily.

Dove's face is already red, but if it could get even redder it might have, "uhh.. Dove. My name is Dove," she whispers out.

How could Anna's joke become so really so fast? She thought.

Tony smiles even bigger, "It's nice to meet you Dove, you have a beautiful name and cute blush" he said, smirking bigger as he sticks his hand out towards her.

Her eyes shifted from his face quickly to his hand and then quickly back up to his face. She hesitated for a second before she slightly-slowly grabbed a hold of his hand softly. When she placed her hand into his, he grasped it softly and shook her hand.

Tony looks down to her hand and checks it over like he did with her face and sighs, "Peter told me that you're not telling the truth, why? Why are you lying to us?" he asks so bluntly.

Dove tenses up fast, her eyes go wide in shock of the blunt question asked towards her, she snaps her head down so she could hide her shocked, fearful, shameful guilty expressions that covers her whole face and even body. These reactions and expressions instantly told Tony and even Peter that she was lying and was hiding the truth from them. Dove knew her reactions got her 'caught' with her lies.

She was bitching herself out now, for acting the way she did to that question. To her, she should have just acted normal and gone with the lie she went with, but no, she was taken back with the bluntness of his question/statement and that got her feeling so emotional. So she tried hiding it, but made it more apparent that something was wrong and that she was lying. Her hair covers her face perfectly. She couldn't see Tony and Tony couldn't see her.

She felt lucky at that, she felt so ashamed of herself that she didn't want them to see her face. She didn't trust her voice too so she stayed quiet.

She didn't know why she was still protecting her dad. He has done so many bad things to her, but she still cared for him so much. She knew she should tell, but the fear of everyone finding out especially her dad scared her into lying and staying quiet about it.

Tony and Peter glance at each other quickly with worried expressions on their faces. The two are thinking the same thing. Abuse. To them, all they can think of is that she is getting abused by someone and they want to know who.

"Dove, can you look at me please?" Tony asks her softly and waits for her to respond.

He waited maybe thirty or fourty seconds before he asked again and once again he waited a few seconds and still got nothing back from her, she just sat there not saying anything and not moving much.

Dove was trying to figure out what to say to them, time just keeps going by and she has nothing to say yet. Doesn't mean her mind is quiet though.

Once again Tony looks right back to Peter for a second and then back to her, he reaches out for her hands and light squeezes them, "Dove, please can you loo-"

Dove jumps off the couch stumbling back, she trips over her own feet and falls back, but before she could reach the ground Peter grabbed her wrist and pulled her up. When she is stable, she pulls her wrist away from Peter and covers her face. Muffled cries were heard.

Tony had dropped his hand to his lap with wide eyes, "Hey, hey I'm so sorry I didn't me to startle you" he said softly.

Third person POV.
With Dove.

Dove felt hot tears form in her eyes and fall down her cheeks. Since her hair had covered everything up, she wasn't able to fully see anything.

So when Tony's hand came up, it scared her and caused her to react like she does with her dad. His hand coming up caused flashes of her dad bringing his hand up randomly and striking her right in the face or the side of her head. Then the squeeze of her hands just reminded of her dad when he would squeeze her hands when he gets agner. He would just grab her hands and squeeze them, hurting them.

She steps back, shaking her head and bumps into one of the chairs in the room. She drops down into the seat and brings her knees up to her chest and cries into her hands. At this point, she couldn't breathe because of how bad she was crying. She was crying for so many reasons.

She cried because she was scared, she cried because of the truma her dad put her in, she cried because she couldn't stop the flashes of her dad popping up, she cried because she felt so guilty for jumping away from Tony and Peter, she cried because she felt guilty for lying to them, she cried because she was so overwhelmed and confused of what to do and say.

Everything was causing so many emotions to come out of her. The emotions that she has locked up for so long and did her best to hide from others. She felt weird and gross for crying in front of them, but she couldn't stop herself.

Tony gets up from the couch and walks over to her, when he reaches her, he crouches down to her leave, "Dove, I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to scare you" he said a bit loud, but that's just because her cries were a bit loud. "Please Dove, I need you to look at me, just try to breath at least"
