Open House and Pool Party

Bree and I cuddled on the couch watching all the Marvel movies and even switching to Star Wars. We cooked popcorn, ordered greasy pizza, and finished the day off with large bowls of ice cream. I knew I was going to regret the extra pounds later, but it made Bree feel good, so I didn't complain.

"How are you and Gavin?" She asked, spooning a large bite of strawberry ice cream into her mouth. I looked over to her, raising an eyebrow.

"Fine. We are hopelessly in love," I leaned on her for dramatic effect, fanning myself with my hand. She giggled, pushing me off her. "You know, it's all movielike material shit." I smiled. Her smile resembled mine, but more ghost-like. I could tell it pained her to know that I was living the romantic life and enjoying every minute of it while she was in a rough patch with her boyfriend. But I could also tell she was happy for me.

"That's great! You planning on sliding a ring on that finger?" She waggled her fingers like Barbs had done. I laughed, shaking my head.

"We've only been dating for a couple of months, Bree. I'm not ready to commit." I spooned a chocolate ball of ice cream into my mouth.

"What happens if he does something? What if he proposes tomorrow or sometime next week?" She was starting to get excited, her eyes beginning to ignite a healthy glow.

"I don't think he's even ready to make a huge commitment. I mean, sure we said we loved each other, but anything can happen between now and next week." I shrugged. Hey, I had to state a fact I wasn't wanting to tread upon, but I had to. Anything could happen during the next couple of days. Bree stared at me, incredulously.

"You're such a downer!" She smacked my arm, making me gasp in pain. "You guys are my OTP. Team Javin forever!" She giggled and I groaned at the name. Michael was the one to come up with it and I always hated the name. Even the fans were using it, still not knowing that Gavin and I were actually together. I was happy to see Bree's smile and to hear that beautiful laughter of hers.

Bree offered to come to an open house with me for a flat that Gavin and I had written down the next day. It was only 10 minutes away from the office, had two bedrooms, and the pool we thought would be a great addition. When Burnie came home that night, he was surprised when he saw Bree, but didn't hesitate to bring her in for a comforting hug.

"This might be the place where you and Gavin can finally have some proper alone time." Bree smiled to me as we entered. The opening was big, might I say. The ceilings were vaulted and the windows to my right let in natural light, which was a big plus! The kitchen connected with the living area and a long hallway led to where the two bedrooms were and the single bathroom. Bree started to get the idea that maybe she could live with me if I got this place.

"I thought you said this would be the perfect place for Gavin and I?" I laughed, looking at the kitchen.

"Oh, it is. But I mean, maybe you can squeeze in some space for me? You know, with the whole Ray thing, I don't even know if our relationship can survive." She chuckled, but I stopped to stare at her on my way to check the bathroom.

"Excuse me? What are you saying?" I said, shaking my head. I couldn't believe she was actually giving up! We just talked!

"Well," she shrugged, moving past me to lead me to the loo. "It seems like we can't communicate well, so our relationship will just...probably shatter." I pulled on her arm to make her stop. I couldn't believe what she was saying! She was the one with the poor communicative skills!

"You're the one not opening up to him. So, of course he's going to either push you away or push you into speaking. If you can't take the heat, don't let the pot simmer until it starts boiling over." She rolled her eyes and sighed.

"I can't and you know that. Maybe, in time, I will be able to, but for now it's still a hard topic to speak about." She left the bathroom to check the other two rooms with me. The master bedroom was a good size, having a walk-in closet with enough room for my few clothes.

"It's time for you to shorten your 'waiting spree' and to buck up the courage to say the rest of your story," She turned to me, biting her lips together. "If you think your guys' relationship is lacking communication, then obviously you need to do something. Don't just sit there--not talking." I said. She looked at me, finally realising that maybe I was right--maybe I did have a point.

"Fine. Just for you." She smiled.

"For you guys." I corrected her and Bree's smile turned into a defeated one. When we finished I knew that I wanted this "condo". It was exactly what I was looking for and it was perfect since it was a short drive to the office. I was going to have to get my license here. The realtor gave us the papers to sign for and said I had until Saturday to send it in. I had four days until then, so I wasn't worried.

Burnie allowed everyone in the Achievement Hunter office to have the day off, so Geoff had organised a pool party for today. I received the text from Gavin saying so. Of course, I had to ask this one question:

Will Ray be there?- Jay

I wasn't sure if Bree would be willing to appear at the party if Ray was there, so I had to be the one to ask for her. Bree and I strolled down the pavement, back to Burnie's so we could pack for the party.

Not sure. I tried texting him, but he hasn't replied. I'll text Micoo. -Gavy

Ok! We'll be getting ready. See you in a few!- Jay

Since Bree had moved all of her clothes to Ray's house, I allowed her to take my black bikini with the pink polka dots on them while for myself, I grabbed my Doctor Who one. Yes, I was a total nerd, so I made sure to have everything. I pulled the two-piece on before I shimmied into my ripped jean shorts and my Spock shirt that ended at my hip.

"Are you sure you're feeling up to it?" I asked Bree as I tied her bikini top for her. She had her dark hair wrapped in a braid that fell across her left shoulder.

"Yeah. I think some time in the sun and away from the flat will do me some good." She smiled. I smiled back, glad that her smile wasn't bitter anymore. I called a cab for us since neither of us were allowed to drive and once it arrived, us girls were prepared for a fun pool day.

"No, Michael, don't!" Bree screamed as the curly haired boy threw her over his shoulder. Lindsay and I laughed by the pool side as we watched the two--Bree struggling and Michael laughing loudly. My back was against Gavin's chest on the long pool chair, his arms wrapped around me. Geoff and Griffon were at the BBQ, roasting chicken and a few steaks while their daughter splashed in the cold water with some of her friends. The other members of the Roosterteeth crew were doing their own thing with beers or cocktails in their hands. Burnie couldn't make it since RTX was close, he had much to prepare for.

Michael had reached the deep end and was getting a firm grip on my friend. Bree was laughing even though she looked terrified. "Screaming won't help!" Michael laughed.

'Please, Michael!" She wrapped her arms around him, making it harder for him to pry her off, but eventually the curly haired boy was able to toss her into the dark blue water. Gavin chuckled at Michael's pointing and laughing at Bree whose head popped out, gasping.

"You arsehole!" But she was laughing too.

"Can you believe I'll be marrying that guy in a little under two months?" Lindsay said, her smile bright. "Seems so surreal." She giggled.

"I just still can't believe I'm friends with him," I said. "That's what's unbelievable." Gavin kissed the top of my head, his arms tightening his grip on me. I was still in my shirt and shorts, not really in the mood to unravel myself. I wanted to tan or take a dip in the pool, but then again, Gavin's arms were more tempting. Ray wasn't anywhere in sight, making me believe he was moping about at home.

"Did Ray respond or did Michael tell you anything?" I asked, looking up at Gavin. He shrugeed, shaking his head.

"I can ask Michael to go and get him." Lindsay suggested.

"No. It's fine. Even though I wish he could have fun with us, I don't want to see Bree become depressed. She needs a break from reality and him." I said and Lindsay nodded, understanding my point. Having Bree smile at this very moment was a good thing and I didn't want to end that.

"I just hope they don't end," Lindsay sighed as she watched Michael, Bree, Barbara, and Brandon having a chicken fight in the pool. "They're my favourite couple. Well, besides you two of course." She patted my knee and I giggled.

"Same here. She just needs a little space from Ray and maybe they'll be able to converse better." Bree fell off Michael's shoulders and the other team roared with victory. Gavin was running his hands through my pink hair, obviously loving the feel of it. I loved it when he did this because it made me feel safe or loved. The way he did it was hypnotising.

"Jay, come join us!" Barbs called from the pool. "I want to have a swim race!" Her grin was pleading, so I shrugged and moved off of Gavin. I pulled off my shirt to let my TARDIS top show and when I stripped of my shorts the bottoms read 'ALLONS-Y." Gavin was grinning at my choice of bathing wear.

"Geronimo!" I yelled as I dived into the pool.
