(Bree's POV)

I twirled around in my computer chair, enjoying the space around me. I loved working here--editing, animating, and helping Miles and Kerry with future character productions for RWBY. I showed them my art portfolio and they were generally impressed, so they had asked me to help sketch a few clothing styles for new characters. Of course, I couldn't refuse.

My desk was next to Lindsay's, who was in the middle of editing a Things To Do. We've become really close like Barbara and Jane are. Her wedding was beautiful--gold and red with simple things here and there. Ray and I were probably the only sober ones there which was fine because I loved watching everyone else drunk dance to music. They didn't want a honeymoon, so they were paid a little extra for their staying.

At that moment, my phone blared Jane's ringtone, the Halo theme music, and I picked it up immediately. When she Skyped me and I saw the gorgeous ring on her finger, I was happy for her, but I was also green with envy. I was always the one to gush about a huge wedding for myself while she rolled her eyes at me for being girly and eccentric. I've always had my wedding planned and I knew what was going to happen, while Jane was always the wing-it-type-person. Then, when she asked me to be her Maid of Honour, I was more excited than ever. I never brought the subject up to Ray because I wanted him to be the one to think about marriage and if he wanted that. I wouldn't push him. I could wait...

"Hey!" I giggled into the phone.

"Hi," her voice seemed drained and fragile and I furrowed my brows at her dull tone. "What's up?"

"Well, what's up with you? You sound like shit." I said, shading a sketch in my notebook that lay open on my desk.

"Thanks, arsehole," she said and I smiled. "I've had food poisoning since yesterday and these terrible migraines. I don't think I'll be getting on that plane today."

"Oh, I'm sorry. Why didn't you call Gavin?" I drew a floral pattern on the margins of the paper, tilting my head as I worked and biting my lip in concentration.

"He wouldn't pick up. I don't know how long this will last, but I know for sure that getting out of bed is a big no no," Even under duress, she was still the same old Jane, using childish words like 'no no'. "I've never felt this before. It's different from the last time I had food poisoning."

"Is it worse?" I asked. Lindsay was watching me, raising her eyebrows to ask who it is. I wrote Jane's name in cursive on the paper and she smiled.

"Um, no. It's just...different." She groaned on the other end.

"In what way?" I sighed and moved aside my notebook to open up an Internet tab, searching the symptoms she was suffering into Google. "I'll look it up."

"Well, I didn't have migraines last time, just stomach pains and the occasional puking. I mean, I am vomiting a lot, usually in the middle of the night. It's tiring me out." She sighed out as I searched the web for what she's dealing with. I hummed to myself as I pressed enter to search my question and many things came up. My eyebrows scrunched together as I read the same thing over and over again, nothing different. Every single answer was the same as the one before, never ranging to anything else. "So?"

I gulped and brushed back a few wisps of my black hair from my face, eyes widening at what it said. I felt my heart ache just looking at each answer they provided. I shook my head and I smiled weakly. "It's fine. Probably just food poisoning like you said. They aren't very detailed on here anyway." I copied the page and pressed print as I said so. Lindsay was still watching me, wondering what's gotten me to change my mood instantly. I nodded to her before going to the printer and stapling the sheets of paper together, reading them over as I left the animation building.

"Brilliant. Thanks. Just tell Gavin why I won't be flying in today."

"Of course." I nodded even though she couldn't see me. I made my way to the Achievement Hunter office.

"Thanks, Bree. Love you."

"Love you too, Janie." With that I hung up and gripped the sheets in my hands as I entered the new office. It was a much bigger space so the guys could do more stuff inside and I actually appreciated the large space so I couldn't feel suffocated. When I entered, only Michael and Jack were inside and I huffed impatiently.

"Oh, hey Bree," Michael smiled, taking off his blue beanie to ruffle his hair. "What's up? Need something?"

"Where's Ray?" I asked, practically hopping on my feet.

"Uh, I think he went to the kitchen. Something wrong?" He stood up and I knew he could see the flash of nervousness etched on my face. I might as well have him tag along as well. I looked down at the printed papers before glancing into his brown eyes.

"I need to speak with him and I guess, you too." I said. He raised his eyebrows and nodded. We both left Jack in the office as we made our way to the kitchen.

"What's going on?" Michael asked and I passed the papers over to him as we walked. I played with my fingers while watching him. His eyes ran over the words, taking in each thing that was typed and he soon stopped, having me stop as well. "Wait....Bree..." He looked up at me and I knew what he was getting at.

"No, this isn't for me." I sighed and began walking again, my long cardigan flowing out behind me. Michael followed again, him holding the papers and me holding onto the small bit of sanity I still had. I was mentally shaking, my strong walls that guarded me were beginning to chip away, leaving me to try and reinforce my guards. I just couldn't believe it.

We finally made it to the kitchen to see Ray at the table that sat in the middle, eating a sandwich and playing on his phone. When we approached, he smiled up at us until he saw our faces. "What? Do I have something on my face?"

"No," I shook my head and took the papers away from Michael. We sat down across from him and he put away the game he was on to focus on us. "So, Jane called not that long ago. She won't be able to make the flight." Michael's eyes widened, now realising who the printed papers were for.

"Why? Is she okay?" Ray asked, sounding genuinely concerned.

"She's been having really bad stomach pains, causing her to throw up and she's also been having bad migraines," I slid the papers to him. "I looked up her symptoms while we talked and this is what came up." I watched him scan the sheets and his eyebrows rose.

"Fuck." He said, flipping through each sheet.

"Yeah." I sighed and bit my lip.

"Does Gavin or Burnie know?" He asked, laying the papers down and looking at me. I tugged on my ponytail as I shook my head. "Well, we should tell them."

"No, definitely not." I shook my head.

"They have a right to know. Bree, if this was you, I would be upset if everyone kept it a secret from me," Ray looked serious. "Did you even tell her what you found?"

"No," I sighed and he scoffed. "I'll tell her soon." I nodded and I would. Ray got up and threw away his food, turning back to me, his arms folded across his chest and his eyes staring into mine. He didn't even inch back to the bench but firmly kept his ground a few feet away.

"Soon I hope." He said, smiling bitterly.

"If I tell her before her wedding, she'll freak." I stated.

"So, during her wedding then? We don't know their date! It could be months away." He sighed, shaking his head, glancing at the floor for a second.

"She'll find out sooner or later." Michael piped in.

"And what about Gavin? He's been worried about her since he found out about her having 'food poisoning'. He deserves to know and not during the fucking wedding." His tone went down a notch, realising he was beginning to yell. I didn't like seeing Ray hostile and disappointed, but I knew I was being selfish. I was in the wrong, of course.

"What do you think Gavin will say? This may not even be the case and this is just something else." Michael pointed to the papers. "She could actually just have a different case of food poisoning."

"We still have to tell him," Ray nodded, picking up the papers and shaking them at us. "Right now." He glared down at us until we finally nodded. When Ray was dead serious or angry, it was a scary sight. Everyone online saw the funny, quick witted Ray that seemed to have no fucks to give, but away from the camera and upset, he was different. Usually I liked it when he got overly protective or angry when a guy would come up to me, but that was a different thing. This was something else.

________

(Jane's POV)

Utter shit. That's how I felt. I had a terrible migraine at the moment and I was happy that I didn't feel sick, otherwise it would feel mandatory to shoot my brains out. I felt bad for missing my flight and not keeping my promise to Gavin. I would have been an hour away from Texas if I had left.

"Do you need an ice pack?" Carrie asked me, sitting on the edge of my bed, rubbing my leg as I had an arm thrown over my face.

"No thanks." I mumbled. She's been here all day, even missing all of her classes just to stay with me. My dad's been too busy with his art class, so he had suggested on having Carrie keep me company.

"What about some food, then? I can make you toast or a sandwich?" She implied, but both sounded like a bad choice. Even if my stomach was quiet at the moment, food just didn't sound good whatsoever. When I shook my head, she sighed. "I don't understand. This isn't natural food poisoning. This is something completely different."

"Then why does it feel the same?" I groaned.

"Completely?" She asked and I moved my arm to look at her.

"No." It was true. The last time I had it, it was unbearable and I couldn't even leave the toilet. With this though, I had the worst migraines and my stomach was a bipolar mess, going from an okay state to me throwing up everywhere.

"Hm," She bit her pouty bottom lip as she thought. "So half and half. You know, you sound like--" Carrie cut off and furrowed her brow. She was in deep concentration until her eyes bugged out of her head, running a hand through her golden locks.

"What?" I sat up, wincing from the throbbing in my head.

"Holy shit."

______

(Gavin's POV)

I looked down at the papers Bree had printed and I could feel my eyes widening with each skim. I don't know why, but I wasn't scared. I was more shocked.

"So....this is what's going on with her?" I asked, glancing up at the three. They had waited until everyone filed out of the set to tell me.

"We don't know. It sounds like the real reason." Bree said, her brown eyes looking down.

"Why didn't you tell her?" I raised an eyebrow at her, but she only shrugged, making me turn to the lads. Michael was scratching the back of his neck, but Ray seemed to be the only one serious about this.

"She was being selfish. I'm sorry on her part," Ray said and that left Bree tense. "When was the last time?" He asked.

"Two days ago." I nodded.

"Well, that wouldn't make sense," Bree spoke up and shifted her gaze to me. "What about before then?"

"Uh, before then would've been two weeks or so." That's when she nodded and bit her lip, my answer being the confirmation of this whole thing.

"Nervous?" Michael asked me and I couldn't help but nod. This whole thing was anxiety filled and I could only imagine what Jane would be thinking when I let her know her condition--why she's suffering the way she is at this very moment.

"You have no idea." I said, rereading the papers. "We've barely been engaged." I sighed and ran a hand through my hair. "I need to sleep on this." The three nodded and as I got up they gave me reassuring smiles.

Geoff was waiting for me outside by his car, swinging his keys around his finger and whistling a catchy tune. "What took you so fucking long? Long shit?" He grinned, but I only gave him a small smile as I headed into his car. "What's wrong buddy?" He asked once he closed the door. Geoff was probably the only one that freaked out a little when I told him of Jane and mine's engagement. It was funny to see him so shocked and upset at the same time.

"Nothing. Just tired." I sighed, clipping on the seat belt. He looked me over a little bit before shrugging and turning the car on, the engine coming to life with a loud rumble. The drive was silent. A million thoughts jumbled through my brain and I couldn't help but hope Jane was alright. It was upsetting to know she wouldn't be coming, but she had to rest. I didn't want her to travel with her condition.

"So, when's Jay's flight coming in?" Geoff asked.

"She won't be on the plane. She's still in England." I muttered. That caught his attention and he turned to look at me.

"Wait? What happened? Did you guys have a fight?" He asked.

"No. She's not feeling too well."

"What's up?" Geoff glanced back at the road, stopping at a red light and letting pedestrians cross the street.

Should I tell him? I don't know if he'd be worried or what he'd think. Although it would be great to hear his advice. He's wise.

I lifted the papers I had folded in my pocket and handed them to him as we waited for the light to turn green. This particular light though took ages before it turned, so we had time. Once I handed him the papers, he read through it and his eyes almost grew bigger than the moon. He looked to me and I licked my lips before speaking.

"I need your advice."
