Birthday and Drunken Love
"Can you please not breathe on my neck." I mumbled into the sheets of Gavin's bed. Geoff, Griffon and Millie were in Alabama, visiting the Ramsey side of the family, so Gavin and I were able to spend the night together. Now that Ray and Bree were in a more stable spot, I could sleep well at night this past week without having to worry which was a relief.
I elbowed Gavin in the ribcage and I heard his sleepy grunt, making me smile. His arms only pulled me closer, but I didn't fight against them. So many months have gone by and I still couldn't believe I was in a stable relationship--I mean I was with Will, but we had so many cracks, it was impossible to truly believe we could stay together. Never had I expected to end up with someone that could understand me or love me the way he does. It was just so unexpected.
"Five more minutes, love..." Gavin mumbled and I giggled. He was so cute when he was in a sleepy mood. I turned over on my side to face him, taking in his morning glory. His eyelids were shut lightly having his lashes caress his skin, his hair was it's usual tousled self, and his lips were parted. Of course, I couldn't let the perfectness resume, so I flicked his forehead because of my immaturity. "Jesus." Gavin groaned, rubbing his head. When his eyes opened, I giggled.
"Morning, sleepy head." I kissed his bottom lip, feeling the scratch from his newly forming beard on my chin.
"You couldn't have let me sleep in for a little longer?" He asked, pulling the sheets over his face. I sat up on my elbow, my pink curls brushing against my bare shoulders. Grabbing the linen off his face, I raised an eyebrow to give him a sarcastic look.
"I thought you were full of adrenaline about an hour or two ago. We didn't even go to bed until the sun rose." I laughed as a smirk played on his face, obviously letting his ego take a hold of him. Gavin and I got way too into it last night, taking advantage of our alone time, and it ended up with us having an all-nighter. Great, now he's going to brag about it until the end of the week.
"Amazing, right?" Gavin sighed, raising his arms behind his head.
"Not the time to be a cocky arsehole," I rolled my eyes and he laughed to himself. "We have to get up, anyway, it's Bree's birthday, so we have to help Lindsay and Michael at their place." I tore the covers off my naked self and headed to the shower, needing to wash away last night's little party. I swear if Gavin brags about it, I'm going to strangle him with his creeper necklace.
The hot water felt good on my clammy skin. I usually thought about my problems or worst scenarios in my head as I showered, but nothing came to mind. Everything was finally perfect right now--with Ray and Bree being back in love, Gavin and I feeling the same, Burnie trying to cope with us being together and my father being healthy. Everything was fine.

Lindsay and I giggled, holding our beers, as we watched Michael, Gavin, and Miles try to decorate the place for Bree's party. She was turning 23, but it didn't matter---everyone needs a party, no matter the age!
"No, it should go there!" Miles protested, holding up a sign I had personlised.
"That's not the fucking middle though!" Michael groaned, running a hand through his curly hair. Arryn, who was Miles' girlfriend, Barbara, and Kara were with us in the kitchen too, amused by the boys' situation.
Everyone would be arriving a little while later, but we wanted to prepare the party before hand. I wanted to make this night special for Bree, just so she can forget about any past problems and enjoy a moment with friends.
"God. They're like bloody girls." I shook my head, taking a swig of my beer. Lindsay laughed and nodded.
"Michael can be a perfectionist sometimes." Lindsay shrugged. "It's hot when he gets riled up about wrinkled shirts and messy rooms." Us girls all laughed at her attraction towards Michael--Lindsay being the loudest. The three lads turned to stare at us--Miles halfway up the tiny ladder with the sign.
"What the fuck are you all giggling about?" Michael had his arms crossed and he seemed like a pissed off father glaring at his daughters. The smile on my face wouldn't disappear, so I had to cover it with my hand.
"Watch this," Lindsay muttered to us so only we could hear. She smiled to Michael, batting her eyelashes, but it was more sarcastic than flirty. "Oh, nothing. We were just saying how Miles was actually right. Where he had it was perfect. You're completely wrong, Mikey."
"Ha! See! I told you it was the right place!" Miles guffawed and that led to a heated argument between the two hot heads, causing us girls to laugh once more.
"They're definitely not going to get anything done," Gavin said, walking over to us and uncapping a beer for himself. "That's why I'm just going to stay out of it. I know that if I say one thing, Michael will tackle me to the ground.
"You'll probably deserve it though," I smiled and he rolled his green eyes. "Did you text Ray?" I asked. Ray was planning a whole day for Bree before the party--wanting to be with her before a whole crowd of people surrounded her.
"Yeah. Right now they're going to this Art Museum that Bree has been dying to go to," Gavin smiled. "Do you know what you wanna do for your birthday?"
"Cuddle in your arms while we watch The Notebook, look at the stars, and have a pillow fight." I was such a sarcastic arsehole, it wasn't even funny. Gavin looked mortified at my girly suggestions and it made all the girls laugh. "Is that okay, love?" I tilted my head.
"I'd rather shoot myself in the bloody crotch." Gavin shook his head. I couldn't hold my laughter in any longer and I had to hold my stomach as it poured out. "Sorry, love, I don't think I'll be with you that day. I might have plans with some of the lads."
"Fine. I'll just ask Fabio and Donnie to come and warm my bed that night." I bit my lip as I smiled, watching his face contort with different emotions.
"Who the bloody hell is Fabio and Donnie?!" Gavin yelped. The kitchen filled with girlish laughter and I wanted to take a picture of Gavin's face because the emotions that passed over was the best thing I had ever seen.
"My Italian lovers that I hide in the closet when you come over," I winked his way, receiving a disgusted look from him. "Oh, sod off. You know I'm joking with you, Gavy." I went to him and kissed him on the lips.
"You're so strange." Gavin chuckled. The girls were cooing at us, making me want to flip them off, but I just hugged my boyfriend instead. Michael and Miles finally agreed on a spot for the large sign and soon the boys went to get drinks and food for the party.
The girls and I were sitting on Michael's maroon sofas, laughing and telling some of the most ridiculous stories imaginable. Kara told of the time her parents forgot to take her on a trip to Hawaii, leaving her home at the age of 9--almost like Home Alone the movie. That happened to me once, except my parents went to Glasgow and I was 13, so kind of a big age difference.
"So, Jay," Arryn said in a sing-songy voice. I raised a quizzical eyebrow at her. "When do you think Gavin will pop the question?" She smoothed back her dark locks from her angelic face, her brown eyes were shining from her question.
"What? You know Gavin: not one for marriage. It'll hold him down." Barbara said, taking a swig from her beer. Thanks, Barbs...but she was right. That wasn't Gavin--getting married, having kids, or anything that consisted of heavy responsibility was something he tried to stray from.
"It's only been 5 or 6 months and I don't think it'll ever happen." I snorted, rubbing the rim of my beer with my thumb.
"Oh, come on. He's totally in love with you and this is the longest relationship he's been in. That has to mean something?" Kara added, tying her short, dirty blond hair up into a ponytail. "Maybe he already has one picked out and he's just waiting for the perfect moment." Kara's grin grew larger from the thought.
"As lovely as that thought sounds, I highly doubt it, Kara." I smiled. It was a nice thought to think about--that Gavin actually had a ring in a little black box stuffed somewhere in his messy drawers and that he was nervous to present it to me. Bree even had suspicions about this subject, I mean she told me the same thing.
"Okay, but if he whips out a little ring, don't say I was wrong." She raised her hands, matter-of-factly. The one person I could see 'whipping out a little ring' would be Ray to Bree. They were so in love with each other that all of the romantic movies ever created looked like pieces of shit compared to them.
"I'm surprised Ray hasn't done it." I said, earning a few agreeing stares.
"Yeah, I thought the same. Michael says that Ray has been nervous to even think about that." Lindsay added. Michael was her direct line to Ray and his personal thoughts, so whenever she got a chance, she asked Michael about his best friend.
"Maybe we could find a way for him to buck up the courage and propose to her!" Kara said. I shook my head, knowing that if we got involved, again, they won't be able to trust us or even want to be around us.
"No, let's not give them a reason to file a restraining order against the Roosterteeth company." Lindsay said and all of us laughed at the thought.
The boys came back with kegs, a huge cake, and they decided on ordering a dozen pizzas. As soon as Gavin walked through the door, he came and kissed me and from behind him, I saw Arryn and Kara pointing to their ring fingers, mouths open, and winking their pretty eyes. I just rolled my eyes at them, but I was definitely amused by their actions.

"Yeah, we're just going to have a quiet night with Lindsay and Michael. You know--watch Game of Thrones, eat cake, and open presents." I said to Bree on the other line. They were on their way from the Art Museum in a cab and their destination was to Michael's flat at the moment. Everyone was quiet whole they listening to my conversation with her.
"Sounds good to me! As long as I get to lick the frosting off the candles!" Bree giggled into the phone and I couldn't help but smile at the adorable smile.
"Not if I get there first, bitch." We both laughed and as I said my goodbye, I had everyone choose their places for the 'surprise'. I was going to be the one to open the door while everyone else was hiding and waiting. Bree's never had a surprise party before, so I finally decided it was the time to give her one.
I could hear the faint noise of the engine of the cab approaching and also the voices of Ray and Bree. I stood near the door, hand ready to pull open the door when they knocked. I smoothed down my little black dress and ran a shaky hand through my extra-curly pink hair, feeling nervous about the surprise, but I knew we would get her.
Their voices were approaching ever more, making me touch the door knob. A knock sounded through the place, telling us they were here and I could tell everyone held their breath. I looked back at the people hiding and many faces were smiling with excitement--Gavin and Michael's smiles being the largest of them all. Without further or do, I unlocked the door, turned the handle and opened it up to reveal Ray, in his own 'Achieve' shirt an cargo shorts, and Bree, in a frilly blue top and dark ripped jeans.
"Why's it so dark in here?" Bree asked as she stepped in. I didn't give myself time to reply before flipping the light switch and having everyone scream 'surprise' at the top of their lungs.
Bree looked like she was about to have a bloody heart attack when she clutched her chest in total shock and fright. Everyone laughed at her wide, brown eyes bugging out of her head and Ray enveloped her in his arms, kissing her cheek.
"Surprise." Ray said, being the last one. I smiled, going to where Michael and Gavin stood to await her response. Everyone was already starting to break open the keg stands while Bree was still in utter bewilderment.
"A party for me?" Bree's open mouth closed into a smile, her eyes darting from Ray to the three of us.
"Yeah! Happy Birthday, Breeana." Gavin said, hugging her. She giggled, raising a finger at him.
"Call me by my name and I'll castrate you and feed your balls to Joe the Cat." With that Gavin stepped back, hands raised in surrender. Michael laughed so hard I thought he was going to drop to the floor, but he was able to pull himself together and hug Bree, muttering something in her ear to make her laugh.
"Happy Birthday, love." I said to her, bringing my friend into my arms so I could hug her.
"I can't believe it! Thank you so much, Janie. It's awesome seeing everyone here!" Bree grinned, taking in the scenery around her. I made sure to incorporate her favourite things: the colour red and artistic decorations that made it feel more like her style.
"Well, I think it's time you have a surprise party." I smiled down at her. She was adorable when she grinned and when her brown eyes lit up with pure excitement, I couldn't even take her seriously.
"I'm gonna go and say hi to everyone," she said. "Ray, come with me!" Her voice was rushed and impatient, but out of happiness and Ray didn't mind. He took her waiting hand, following her wherever she wanted to go.
Before I knew it, people were dowsing themselves in the liquor and hugging Bree so tight I thought they were going to suffocate my poor friend. Gavin, Michael, and I were proud of our accomplishment on the party and we gave each other a look of success. We made sure to present the large birthday cake to Bree first. We took pictures of her blowing out the colourful candles and uploading them to Twitter. For her presents, she received so many art supplies and video game related stuff thy my jealousy perked behind its highest limit, but I knew she would share later on.
"Oh, great. There goes Brandon with the damn drinking tube. I've gotta go and join in now." Michael said, leaving Gavin and I to chuckle at his eagerness. Music blasted through the small apartment, people chatted away like little bees, and pretty much everyone was having a good time which was a good thing on my part. Gavin went to go join Michael, intrigued by the drinking game they were about to start, so I went to where Barbara and Lindsay were, talking about the next season of RWBY. I was really excited to continue with my character and I couldn't wait for her to develop into a main one.
"Monty's looking for someone to help him direct the next series." Barbara said as I stepped up into their conversation. "I would do it, but I'd probably just fuck shit up." Her giggle was childish with a hint of drunk humour entwined with it.
"Same. My plot twists and dialogue would just end up in a musical and I know Monty would go all karate kid on my ass." Lindsay smiled, sloshing her beer in her little red cup.
"What about you, Jay? You think you can handle it?" Barbara raised an eyebrow. She was supposed to be the designated driver for Brandon, Adam, Joel, and herself, but I could tell that leadership would soon have to be changed.
"Um, I don't know. I've never done that before. I mean, if I went to college I was going to study journalism and do screenwriting for video games or tv shows. I guess I could talk to Monty about it. I've also watched a lot of anime and read Manga, so that's probably a bonus." It would be interesting to try directing a world-known anime web series and it could even turn out fun.
"You should definitely do it. Oh my god," Lindsay trailed off as her eyes diverted to a corner where Kara and Blaine, another Roosterteeth employee, were snogging--not hardcore, but lightly and unsurely. "That would make Tumblr gold right there." Barbara began to slid her phone out of her pocket and click a picture of the memorable scene.
"Blara is now in session." I said and the two girls laughed at my pet name for them. It was definitely fun creating names for couples, even though Blaine and Kara weren't together. Javin and Bray were already streaming over excessively on Tumblr, Instagram, and Twitter, so if Barbs posted this picture, we would probably blow up the hashtags.
I glanced around, away from the two, and tried to pin point the birthday girl. Bree was playing a game of "Counter Beer Pong" with Jack, Burnie, and Gus on one side against her, Arryn, and Caiti on the other. Ray was off to the side watching with a water bottle in hand. I guess tonight was an excuse for her to drink, but I knew afterwards it would be the end of it.
The party had been going on for a good hour and I could feel the warm, tingly feeling of the alcohol course through me. Barbra's boyfriend, Gerod, was talking to Michael and Gavin while they swayed slightly, either from the booze or music, I couldn't say. He was a nice guy, but I could tell the alcohol made him agitated and impatient from the way he raised his hands or hopped on his feet. His voice was the loudest out of everyone's, earning stares. I could tell something was wrong when he shook his--almost like Will had those early months I was here and he stood on Burnie's doorstep. I knew I had to have someone take him home.
"Hey guys," I smiled, walking up to the three boys. Their heads snapped to me as I approached. "Hey, Gerod, do you know how many drinks you've had tonight?" I wrung my hands together, starting to feel nervous about approaching the situation.
"I lost count, but who cares...it's a party." He shook his cup, the amber liquid spilling out a little and onto Michael's carpet. "I'm not gonna go to some party and not have a few sips of beer." His words were slurring, but understandable. "Why? Is there a problem?"
"No, but I think you've had too many." I said. He furrowed his brows, holding out his arms and gesturing to everyone.
"Everyone's had too many, but for some reason you think I'm the only drunk." He gulped down the rest of his beer, wiping away the wetness on his lips with the back of his hand. "I think I'll grab another." I knew I shouldn't have, but I placed a gentle hand on his chest to stop him front his path to the kegs. Which was a mistake. His rough, strong hand grasped my wrist and threw my arm aside--his pale blue eyes glaring down in mine. "Don't fucking touch me." It was more of a growl. I knew Barbara could just take him, but her car was small and wouldn't be able to fit another person.
"Hey, ease up man. She was just trying to stop you from making a mistake." Gavin interfered, his eyes sharp daggers that pierced Gerod's blue eyes. Michael was by me in a second as well.
"Yeah, by stepping in my way to get another damn drink and being a bitch about it." He tried to make another go for the kegs, but this time Michael copied my moves, but much rougher.
"Enough, Ger. You need to relax. Go drink some water or something to calm you down." Michael's eyes were fiery and I knew it was because of what Gerod said to me. He was so protective like Gavin or Burnie or Geoff that it made me appreciate him being in my life even more.
I could feel Gavin's cold, green stare penetrating Gerod's blue orbs. His arm snaked around my waist to pull me to him. No one in the vicinity knew what was going on except for us four, which was a good thing.
"Fuck you, man. I'm a grown man and if I want another drink, I'm allowed it." Gerod's voice wasn't its drunken lightness, but a more violent, harsh tone.
"Yeah, but not in my house." Michael spat back. Things were heating up between the two and I had to break it up. I went in between them, placing a hand on both of their heaving chests.
"Okay, you two. Enough. We don't want to start something--" Gerod gripped my shoulder and pushed me aside so I landed on my back with a hard smack. It hurt like fucking hell, even with carpeted ground, but from my view I saw Michael yell, swing, hit Gerod under the jaw, and receive a punch on his own mouth, busting his lip. Gavin was already at my side, helping me up as Burnie and Joel were helping Barbs with her boyfriend.
"Jane, you alright, love?" Gavin whispered to me as I leaned against him when I was up. People were watching the scene go by, but my eyes fell to Michael who was kneeling on the ground, a hand to his mouth. Lindsay was there, concern crossing her features.
"Here let me see." I said, crouching down, even in my dress, and turned Michael's head to me with my hand. His lip was broken open, letting dark blood ooze from the cut. A bruise was starting to outline the left side of his lips. "Let's get this fixed." I helped him up and Lindsay calmed people down and soon everyone went back to the party, too into conversations to even care. Gavin stayed back to comfort Bree with Ray.
"Okay, here." I sat Michael down on the closed toilet seat and I rummaged through his cabinets for cleansing wipes and a medical cloth of some sort.
"God, this fucking hurts," Michael said, touching his swollen lip. "At least I knocked him once."
"Yeah. Thanks for that." I smiled to him before grabbing the small medkit I found in his medicine cabinet.
"Well, I have to protect my Jay," He grinned, but winced at the emotion. I chuckled as I went on my knees so I could be level with him. "He was being a dick and I couldn't allow that. You're like my little sister."
"Well, I am very glad to have you. My older brother." I giggled, touching the alcoholic wipe to his busted lip. He groaned. "Oh, shush...isn't this funny? You did the same exact thing to me when I got beat down by Will. It's like we were supposed to be in each other's lives."
"I wouldn't call it 'funny'. More fucking ironic." Michael winced once more as I dabbed his wound. I placed the cloth on to his lip and had him hold it there.
"Yeah, I guess ironic is the right word for that." I pulled him up from the toilet and before we went back to the party, I gave him a quick and loving hug. I heard his deep chuckle as he hugged me back.
When we came out, Lindsay, Bree, Ray, and Gavin were worried about us as they examined our bodies.
"You okay?" Gavin asked me, pulling me to his chest. I laid my tired head on his chest and slowly nodded. He didn't slacken his hold on me, but I was glad he didn't.
"Yeah. Just fine." I could feel his lips touch the top of my head and I buried my face into his chest.
"Barbara's taking Gerod home right now, so Joel, Brandon and Adam will have to stay here." Lindsay told Michael and he only nodded as he held the cloth up to his lip.
"Fucking pleb. That quim." Bree blurbed on and it made me giggle.
"Jesus. Gavin much?" Ray said, kissing her lips and making her laugh against them.
"I think we should go. It's getting pretty late." I said, even though I really wanted to stay, but just tomorrow Barbara and I were going to the building for RTX and planning things for the summer. It was 12:30 a.m. at the moment.
"Alright. Love you guys." Michael smiled, making his lip bleed a little more. As we said our goodbyes to everyone, I finally let out a frustrated sigh. It was such a stress filled night and ending it with Gerod and Michael was eating away at me.
Gavin called us a cab and when it arrived, we were relieved to sit and ponder our thoughts. When the familiar apartment complex pulled up, I wanted nothing more than to lay in bed with Gavin and have him hold me until the sun rose from behind the oak trees.
"I am so tired." I groaned, kicking off my shoes and flopping down on the bed. It felt good to have a comforting surface underneath myself.
Gavin slipped off his shoes and laid down beside me, running a hand over his face. Taking the chance, I moved on top of him, straddling his torso and bringing his hands up so they held my waist. He sighed out, allowing a perfect smile to grow.
"Now?" He asked me.
"No, it's just a comforting feeling." I smiled down at him, my hands on his chest.
"In a sex position?" His smirk was so cocky I couldn't help but laugh.
"No. Just feeling you here with me--knowing you're here when I need you." I leaned down to kiss his lips that were flavoured with alcohol and vanilla frosting.
"I'll always be here, love." He mumbled against my lips, making me smile against his. He placed a hand on the back of my neck, tilting his head to the side to deepen the kiss and bring me closer to his body.
(WARNING: Sex scene, so if you're not into that kind of thing, then skip ahead, loves. Gotta have at least one descriptive one ;))
Gavin ran his hands down my back as I threaded my shaking fingers in his tousled hair. I wasn't in the mood a minute ago, but he was able to change my mind in a heartbeat. That's how persuasive his lips were.
His fingers lifted the bottom of my dress so it ended at my waist, allowing my lacy, red underwear to show. I helped him tear off my little black dress as he already pulled his shirt off as well. He leaned up to gently kiss my chest, his lips softer than the way of a butterfly's wings and it made me tremble with pleasure. He travelled his kisses down until they reached the brim of my underwear. I was moved up a bit to allow him the trail of kisses he had embellished on me and I let out a small moan to know I was under his control--his dark and seductive spell that made me sway and tingle with each touch.
His teeth grazed my flesh that was against my collarbone. I started to tackle the belt that hung through his belt loop. It took no more than 5 seconds for me to slip it off it's hinges and throw it at the door behind me with a loud bang. Gavin's chuckle gave me goosebumps, also having me award him with a hungry kiss, urging him to do what I wanted. Gavin understood my demanding request and he turned so I was now beneath him and he being the one to tease.
His fingers slowly slid my red bra strap down my shoulder, leaving soft kisses behind. He was such a tease during these moments and I was one for quick motives, not someone who fooled around. Once he did it to the other one, leaving me ragged from the sensual caressing, he tore it off and then also slid off his shorts, leaving him in his plaid boxers. As he kissed my sore, aching mouth, his hand moved it's way down to my underwear and slipping inside, making me gasp loudly from his warm touch and I dug my nails deep into his back.
"G-Gavin," I gasped out. He was such a fucking tease and I couldn't handle it. "Please."
He nodded as he kissed me hard and he pulled off his boxers and soon my own underwear. He pushed me against the pillows and he slid into me, having me moan so loud I thought the neighbours from across the street would be able to listen.
