Chapter 2

"1, 2, 3!" The instructor said.

I forced myself to start walking.

I instantly fell into the arms on my instructor, Alex.

"Nessa, you have to-"

"I am trying! For God's sake, I'm trying!" I yelled.

"Alright." He said and helped me get into a walking position. "Try to move your toes around a little."

I tried, I tried hard.

Nothing.

"I'm sorry Nessa, you have to keep coming back for 5 months." He said.

"I don't think I'll be able to walk." I said. "Ever again."

"Don't say that." Alex responded and helps me on my wheelchair. "It takes time."

"I don't have time!" I exclaimed.

"See you back on Friday." He said and rolled me out of the room.

I see Sophia and Loren waiting for me.

"Hey." I say swallowing my tears.

"Any luck? Progress?" Sophia asked.

"She has time." Alex says and faked a smile, walking back into his room.

"Okay I'm being completely honest, he's a bitch." Loren confessed.

"Just get me out of this hell hole." I sighed.

"Okay." Sophia rolled me out and strolled down the block.

"When will we go to Cali?" Loren asked.

"I'll get the plane tickets." I say.

"Oh no." Sophia sighed.

"I need to see him. He's getting worse and worse." I said.

"Fine, okay. I give up!" Loren exclaimed as we reach my house.

They rolled me on the ramp and opened the door.

I see my mom with a man, wearing a suit.

"Mom, who's this?" I asked.

"Oh sweetie, he is Adam Waters. He's a manager and would like to talk to you about a meet and greet. He wants to host a meet and greet for you in the mall two blocks from us." She responded with delight.

Oh no, I don't have time.

"W-when, will this meet and greet happen?" I asked.

"We can make it 1 week from now." He smiled.

Well, I think I'll stay in Cali for about 3 days so I hope i do have the time.

"Great." I said shaking his hands.

"We'll go over everything the day before the meet and greet." He said.

"Okay." I say and then look at Loren and Sophia. "Mom also, we're going to Cali for 3 days. Really important!"

I rolled fast down the hall, scared to her response.

"What? Vanessa!" My mom exclaimed.

I can hear her chasing me down. I rolled upstairs with the ramp and locked the door in the bathroom, my laptop was in my lap.

"Come on." I whispered, entering my password and searching up the tickets.

"Vanessa Stewart! I swear, if you don't open this door! I'll make you regret everything!" My mom yelled as the doorknob jiggled.

California, Los Angeles: $60 ; departing at 6:30

I clicked for 6 tickets.
I paid as the door opened.

"You are not going to Cali! I will simply not let you! You need to be safe and you need your leg to rest!" She exclaimed with anger.

I've never seen my mom so angry, i was actually frightened.

"Okay." I lied.

She looked at me and then her eyes softened.

She took my laptop, which I closed and walked out.

Sophia and Loren looked at me blankly.

"We just experienced your mom, being mad." Loren breathed out.

"Well doesn't matter, we're going to Cali!" I whispered.

"I don't think this is a good idea. Your mom sounded pretty furious." Sophia said.

"6 tickets are already held. Now pack, because we leave at 5:30." I say.

I looked at the time.
2:45pm

"Now hurry!" I scoffed.

I go to my room and get my suitcase packed.

I even called Matthew, Finn, and Jacob.
Matthew was going to pick us up at my alley, I how this all works.

"He's here!" I whispered to Sophia and Loren.

They took my suitcase as I carefully and quietly go down the ramp.

"Nessa! Is that you?" My mom caled out.

I said nothing but kept going and opened the back door.

Sophia and Loren ran downstairs carefully.

"Nessa! Where are you!" I hear my Mom getting up from the couch.

"Go now!" I whispered and closed the door, rolling down the ramps.

"Nessa!" She screamed louder.

We made it outside and see Matthew sitting on a chair.

"Let's go! Now!" I say rushing to the alley.

He panicked and fell off the chair, how did he even manage to fall off a chair?

We made it to the car and see Finn with Jacob already.

"Hurry!" I tried to get out of my wheelchair and enter the car.

I hear a door open.

"Vanessa! Where are you going!" I hear my angry mom.

I was scared. So scared.
Suddenly Finn pulled me in while Matthew folded my wheelchair and placed it in the trunk.
By now, all of our luggage's were in the car.

"Matthew go now!" I panicked.

He twisted the keys as The car turned on.

I could now see half my moms faces, angry.

"Step on it!" I screamed.

Matthew was scared of me at that s point and drove off to the airport.

"Do you think she'll hate us?" I asked, killing the silence.

"She'll understand one day, you need that guy back in your life." Matthew said.

I nodded and slumped back down in my seat.

We're here.
Finally. After about a 8 hour flight.

"Text Angela, and ask her where Jaeden is staying." I say.

"Okay.." Finn said and looked at his phone. "He's staying at 3427 West Clearwater."

Okay, this was going fine. I hope I came here for something. And leave with something.

We drove up to Jaeden's address and stayed there for some time in the car.

I was contemplating if this was the right choice.

"Listen sis, I know the relationship between you and Jaeden wasn't healthy but right now. This is your time to make it healthy again. This is all on you and him." Matthew said looked back.

"Okay." I gulped and got out of the car as

I rolled up to the house, opening the door.

Why didn't he lock the door? Oh, his mom probably was out for groceries and left the door unlock.

"Jaeden?" I called out.
