After the first warp flight and the Vulcans made first contact with earth humanity set there eyes to the stars. The first warp 5 exploratory ship was launched under the command of captain johnathan archer and he would command that ship until he and the ship would be decommissioned. Captain archer would be instrumental in the formation of the United federation of planets. Eventually the new starship U.S.S. Constitution would be launched with it a new class of constitution class starships.

One of those ships the NCC 1701 U.S.S enterprise would become the flagship of the federation. Everyone knows this story. It however isn't the focus of this story. One of the constitution class ships U.S.S endeavor NCC 1707 would go on her 5 year exploratory mission into deep space. That ship while it hasn't made anywhere near the amount of first contact missions as the enterprise has made the endeavor has made the biggest and it effected how starfleet operates in the future. The endeavor has made first contact with the galactic republic and learned that earth is in a region of space that is full of anomalies that prevents safe "hyperdrive" travel. Endeavor has learned that hyperdrive is much faster then the "warp drive" that the federation uses. Hyperdrive uses lanes that work like wormholes while warp drive bends space around a bubble to move the ship faster than light. After that first contact the federation president begins negotiations on a alliance with the galactic republic.

80 years of peace and cooperation between the federation and the galactic republic went by and the endeavor NCC 1707-B was on route into the Naboo system to negotiate the end of the blockade from the trade federation. The endeavor was sent after the republic lost contact with the Jedi knights that where sent to negotiate on behalf of the republic. The president of the federation happened to be in the chancellors office at the time and offered to send a ship to investigate and continue negotiations on behalf of the republic. When the endeavor jumped into the Naboo system they received a transmission from the chancellors office with the president saying that queen Amidala of Naboo was on her way to coruscant the capital of the republic to plead her case to the galactic senate in hopes that there will be intervention. The endeavor would be ordered to remain in orbit and await further orders. Scopes have revealed that the trade federation has landed a invasion force that was imprisoning the population. Captain Johnathan McKay would contact the president and inform him of the situation. The endeavor was still ordered to do nothing until the senate has made a decision. The endeavor would later be informed that the queen was returned to Naboo because the senate wasn't going to do anything about it. It was a dark moment for Star fleet when the trade federation ship opened fire on the endeavor destroying her. The Jedi and the queen would later liberate the planet but because of the senates inaction a star fleet vessel was destroyed. This would be known as the Naboo tragedy. The senate would elect a new supreme chancellor to lead the republic. Chancellor sheev palpatine would lead the republic very well in the coming years. A new starship endeavor would be launched by star fleet a new galaxy class ship NCC 1707-C. The Naboo tragedy lead the federation to distance itself from the republic. A few years later senior Padme amidala would be put in protection due to a assassination attempt. A few days later starfleet intelligence would report that the Jedi have gone to the planet geonosis to rescue the senior and two Jedi knights from being executed and several capital ships had joined the battle beginning the clone wars. Fearing that the federation would become involved in the war the federation council approved the formation of the United federation army. New ships where built since the Naboo tragedy. Ships that would be used to move troops and vehicles.

The planetary assault ship would be escorted to a planet and would launch drop ships out of special bays for rapid deployment of personnel and vehicles.

The federation built a new battleship/carrier the battlestar class ships as well as new viper Star fighters in preparation for a potential war.

These fighters would be designed to launch out launchers on the side of the battlestar class ships. The battlestar class ships are also used by the United federation marine corps operations. And they have there own drop ships called pelicans.

The marines have specialized vehicles for there operations as well. Starfleet would also begin developing new starships such as the galaxy class. As war hasn't yet broken out the galaxy class is used for long range exploration and a secondary roll as a combat vessel.

When the confederacy of independence systems attacked a federation space dock destroying several starships. the United federation of planets officially declared war on the CIS. Earth has joined the clone wars.
