Grace had grown up in Alacard under the Holy Shield Order (The Paladin Guild Of Alacard) which she and her brother trained from childhood to adulthood to become Paladins. Their parents were members of the Order as well as teachers for new members. Their mother was a soldier and their father was a guard. When the imperial campaign began, an imperial attack on Alacard was the cause of their father's death, leaving the mother to take care of the children. After a few months of relying on other members and training the kids twice as hard, the mother eventually married another man. Grace and her brother were skeptical of the man, although he was kind to them since he couldn't have children of his own. The kids eventually trusted the man and life seemed normal again.
When they got older, her brother took part into the war and eventually became the captain of the Launzet Protector Forces, which is an organization that plans out defenses for Launzet and counterattacks on the Imperials. Grace decided to stay in her hometown to take care for the people whose lifestyles were caught up in the campaign. When the Imperials surrendered, King Launzet named her brother as one of the Heroes Of Launzet. Grace was joyful of the title and awaited her brother to return home.
Sadly, her brother didn't came back home and Kars Reign was showing to be tyrannical. Before any of Launzet came to Alacard, Grace and other members of the Order, including her mother and new father, left the town in secret before the forces took control of the town.
With nowhere else to go, Grace decided that the best course of action to take back their home was to aid the rebellion. They got to the base of the rebellion and Cid gladly accepted their help. In return, the Paladin adventurers needed a mentor to teach them in the ways of one. Since her mother and new father were more focused on taking care of those in need, they decided to name Grace as the Mentor of the Paladins. She was uneasy about the decision at first, but during time she managed the position greatly. Nowadays she still looks for any info on what happened to her brother.
