Estella Henderson was late to work, she had forgotten to set an alarm last night so now she was an hour late to work. She quickly dresses herself well also picking up her notebooks and markers, throwing them in her bag.

Estella grabbed her phone and put on a random pair of heels as she rushed to get out that door. Despite being late, she still looked perfect and beautiful. When she was in her group home, many girls expressed how jealous they were because she was the type of person to wake up and not look like shit.

One of Estella's favorite things about working at a fashion office was her work clothes. There was also no dress code so she was free to wear whatever she wanted. Estella loved wearing dresses with heels and so did all the women in the office. Today she had thrown on a gray long-sleeved dress with simple black heels. Estella was also wearing the lucky charm bracelet she'd gotten on her birthday last year from Kim.

Estella ran out and slammed the door shut. Fast pacing to the office that was like seven minutes away from where she lived. The mornings in Chicago were also busy with people also heading to work but today it was extra crowded. Estella was praying to the world hoping not to accidentally fall or bump into someone.

She spoke too soon because someone crashed into her a moment later making her drop her bag.

"Will you watch where you're going, bloody hell!" A very angry voice snapped at her making her look up at him. This very annoyed stranger had pretty dark blue eyes. But he wasn't looking at her instead looking down at his phone. He was also very handsome and hot even if he looked so annoyed.

"I'm so sorry, I'm late to work and my boss is going to kill me because we have a really important meeting today." Estella began to ramble but the moment the first words came out of her mouth, the blue-eyed stranger looked at her with disbelief.

"Katherine?" His voice has confusion in it with a hint of annoyance. The blue-eyed stranger looked at her up and down before his eyes met hers.

Estella slowly shook her head, "N-no, I think you have the wrong person. I'm Estella but most people call me Ella." She felt intimidated as the stranger's eyes wouldn't leave her face.

"Oh, my apology. You look like an old friend of mine. I'm Nik." He pulled his hand up to shake hers and Estella did the same. She put her hand in his and he flipped it, they both felt a spark when they touched hands. Klaus looked stunned for a second before covering it and lifting her hand up to his lips.

Nik placed a soft kiss on Estella's hand and she immediately started to blush. She mentally cursed herself when he noticed and smirked. However, when she wasn't looking he took the bracelet off her wrist and dropped it in his pocket.

"Well, it's nice to meet you Nik but I really must get going because my boss is going to have my head for being late," Estella says picking up her bag from the floor and walking away with a smile on her face.

Klaus watched her cross the street and go inside a building, not taking his eyes off her until she was out of sight.

When she was out of sight, he pulled out the bracelet and looked at it for a moment.

That was not Katherine and definitely not Elena. who was she? Klaus thought to himself.

He picked up his phone to call a witch because he wanted to know why there was another doppelganger and if she was of any importance. "Hello, it's Klaus. I know how you can repay your debt to me. I'll see you at your place in ten minutes." Before hanging up.

Estella walked into the building still smiling, but she tried to forget about the blue-eyed stranger because she had the investors meeting that day. She rushed into her office to drop her bag, grabbed her notebook, and immediately went over to her boss's office.

She knocked on the door and walked in after hearing the soft "Come in."

Kimberly Kingsley was typing on her computer when Estella walked in, "Mrs. Kingsley I'm so sorry I'm late. I forgot to turn on my alarm last night. but I finished the designs." Kimberly hates it when her workers are late so Estella has never been late...until today.

"Ella darling, how many times do I have to remind you? Call me Kim, and it's fine. Just don't let it happen again." Kimberly says looking at her, "Now come sit, let's see what you came up with." 

Estella smiled in relief and walked over opening her notebook. Kimberly grabs the notebook and starts looking through it with a smile on her face. "These are all sunning but this one is perfection. You outdid yourself, Ella."

"I'm so glad you like it," Estella says proud of herself. She loved drawing and fashion. So she was very grateful that Kimberly let her work there doing what she loved.

"Save this one, we can show it in today's meeting," Kimberly says handing her back the notebook. Estella went back to her office when she began to work. Her mind still going back to the blue-eyed stranger. Maybe it was because she hadn't met a guy that sparked her interest in a long time. Not since the betrayal from her ex-boyfriend.

Meanwhile, Klaus had arrived at a witch's house, the charm bracelet still in his hand. He knocked on the door and smiled sarcastically as the door opened.

"Hello, Nancy. Something very interesting happened to me today. I ran into a doppelgänger except she wasn't Katherine or Elena. She was human. I want to know how and why."

Nancy steps aside, letting the hybrid walk in, and takes the bracelet Klaus was handing to her. They walk into the living room and she sits down across the hybrid. "I also want to know if I can use her blood to create more hybrids."

The hybrid got right to the point and that didn't bother her at all, she starts to mumble the spell and in a couple of minutes, her eyes snap open.

"My ancestors said that she's the final doppelgänger there won't be anymore after her." she starts off, making Klaus nod thinking about that. "Her blood will also finalize a hybrid transition and-" Nancy stops herself looking down. She wasn't sure how to say the next part.

"And what Nancy, keep going." Klaus snapped growing impatient. He's been impatient and angry for the last seven years.

Nancy's heart began to beat fast growing more and more nervous each second. "She's connected to you. She's your soulmate."

Klaus looked at her as if she'd grown an extra head, "Are you insane? Is this a joke because I swear-"

"It's not! I'm telling you what I know, she was created for you. She was born the day you broke your curse, I'm assuming the original witch hid that in her spell when it was originally made."

Klaus stayed silent, thinking about what was just said to him. "Why would my mother do that?"

"She felt remorseful about placing the curse on you so she wanted to give you something in return."

"So she makes up for it by making me a soulmate." He says sarcastically. "And she doesn't even give me someone original, no she gives me someone who has the face of the first woman I ever loved. Great, thanks mother for not making everything complicated."

Klaus wasn't sure how to feel, a soulmate. Why would his mother do that? She hated him and wanted him dead. Maybe this was her showing, she felt bad about placing the curse on him to begin with. 

"Tell me more. What else do you know?" He asked curiously.

"The bond will activate when you share your first kiss. Then she'll be connected to you, gaining your vampire and werewolf's ability. She'll be as powerful as an original." Nancy says still nervous about his reaction.

"What if I don't want that? Then what? Can I kill her?" Klaus asked thinking of the possibility.

Nancy looked confused before replying, "If you kill her before kissing her nothing will happen to you but-" she stopped not wanting to anger the hybrid with her next words.

"But what Nancy." Klaus snaps getting more annoyed with the witch.

"Soulmates are rare. We've only ever had two sets of soulmates. Wouldn't it be nice to not be alone and have someone who will love you for you?"

Klaus took her words in slowly before nodding, "Anything else?"

"She doesn't know about the supernatural world and everyone around her is human so she isn't like Elena."

"That's nice to know, so you're the only person that knows about this right?" He asks standing up.

"Yes." The moment those words came out of her mouth, he snapped her neck.

"Can't have people knowing about my supposed soulmate," Klaus smirks before grabbing the bracelet from her dead hand. Klaus vampire speeds out of there and goes to his mansion unsure of what his next move was.

Author notes: Hi everyone! I hope you all like the first chapter. I'm excited to write about a doppelganger, this is my first time so I'm a little nervous. Hopefully, I don't get the timeline messed up but from what Google told me season 5 takes place in 2026 and this story will take place in 2026! Also, what happened in season five will NOT happen here, this is completely my idea.
