🦁7 - Seven🐍 Harry

I know Draco told me Blaise may get suspicious of stuff, but he left out the fact that Blaise would watch me like a hawk. I was thankful for Parkinson putting him in his place then he asked me something I didn't know the answer to. 'Why did Draco have to always be mean to me?' That was one topic we hadn't spoke about over the summer and now I was even more curious.

Surely he must have told them. So I went with that idea. Blaise backed off rather quickly. Now I had questions of my own. Blaise had slipped up three times almost saying Harry instead of Potter. My opinions were a bit far fetched, but he was being rather odd.

1. Blaise wanted to make amends but was scared.
2. Blaise was gay and had a crush on me (impossible).
3. Blaise was fishing and trying to get me to flop.
4. Something else happened and Blaise doesn't want to be friends with Draco.
5. Blaise was just being weird.

Option 5 was stupid but I had OCD so I couldn't just leave it at 4. I feared he knew what was going on, but I couldn't let that cause me to slip up. Because just maybe he didn't actually know. Then I would have given away our secret before the time was right. I had to ask Draco about what he thought and really soon. He knew Blaise the best and I would end up stubbornly denying everything if Blaise started asking more questions I didn't have answers to.

"Sooo. Little Harry Potter was acting like a giddy school girl."

"I have no idea what you are talking about Malfoy." I turned my nose up with a huf.

"Come now Potter. I saw your eyes light up in potions." Draco poked my cheek. "You like positive feedback."

I sighed. "Okay so I was happy. Snape never compliments my work. And the fact he said it was better... Well you get it."

Draco grinned and I sort of cringed. "Well since you're me you will be making most of the potions now. Which means more praise."

My smile wavered a bit. "Yeah I guess it's really you getting the credit."

"Hey whoa. Slow down there. I was just thinking about that. When we are done with this little wager how about we change back in front of Severus. That way you can get the credit you deserve." Draco rubbed my arm.

He was still rather awkward when it came to cheering people up. Which I found rather funny. I smiled and it actually seemed like he was happy about it. He gave me his notes and homework.

Since that was the one thing we couldn't change. Seeing as I had rather sloppy handwriting and Draco's was near perfect. So we agreed to just exchange our work when we had the chance.

We agreed to do that mostly on Fridays after our last class. I had given him mine earlier though. Since I finished it already.

"By the way. How the hell do you still put up with Weasley. I'm going crazy being late all the time. And the week only just finished." Draco huffed and I laughed.

"You get used to it I suppose. He grows on you. I wanted to talk to you about this." I lifted the side of my shirt.

The other night when I was getting ready for bed I had felt this slight pain in my side. Upon observation I found a small tattoo. I was wondering if it was the potion or if Draco had a tattoo before.

He frowned and looked at me. "What on earth did you do to my body!"

I lowered my shirt. "Nothing. I thought you had that already. You mean you didn't."

"I would never mark my body. Especially not with something so silly." Draco scoffed.

"Hey! I think it's awesome." I grumbled in defense.

Draco rolled his eyes. "Of course you do."

The tattoo was a snitch. The wings were opened and moving. It was flying but not moving from the spot. The colour was a silver and gold combination. When I touched it the wings stopped moving and folded into the ball.

"Have you got any marks I should know about?" Draco asked gaining my attention.

"Nope. You will get one though. I mean if you didn't have one then this is probably from the potion. Can you believe we've survived the whole week so far?" I smiled.

Draco scoffed. "I'm shocked you weren't put in Slytherin honestly. You make a really good me. It's kind of scary."

I shrugged. "I was supposed to be one. In first year the hat wanted to put me in Slytherin."

"So why Gryffindor then?" Draco frowned.

"I was told that's where I belonged. You'll understand soon. I think." I sighed. "The cloak?"

Draco handed me the cloak and I threw it over the potion I had started. We sat and spoke for another hour or so. I chose not to tell him about Dumbledore since it may influence his actions during the next meet.

He told me about his plans to change some things about my life. Mostly like showing how smart I am and some of my relationships with the other houses. I agreed to the first part, I didn't want him messing with my social life too much.

It was only if I was allowed to do the same with his life. Then eventually we checked the potion one last time before going our separate ways. Each of us taking a final swig of the potion for the night.

It was a Sunday afternoon. Another week after the start of school. Zabini was pacing in front of Parkinson and I. He had been acting really odd the last two days. Well more oddly than before. I asked Draco about it at our Friday meet and he told me just to wait for Zabini to come out with what was on his mind. Draco also explained that he was under the impression Zabini was possibly gay.

'I'm glad I told you now. You can't be surprised when he decides to come out. He'll take it the wrong way. I don't want you ruining my friendships.'

'Pfft now you get what I meant the other day. Wait you don't have a problem with that?'

'Harry damnit. I'm not shallow. I care about my friends and their happiness.'

'I know. Sorry. I'm still getting used to the idea that youve only been following orders. And there's this whole other side.'

'Used to.'

Yeah that's right. Draco had left his manor because he didn't want to be a part of the "war" that was coming. I was well aware that Zabini and Parkinson didn't want a part either. They were always vocal about it.

I can't say I didn't agree. I mean what child would actually want to participate. I personally hated my title and supposed duty.

Anyway here we were in the Slytherin common room. Parkinson and I were sitting patiently when Blaise stopped his pacing. He turned to us, looked around and took a breath.

"So I'm just going to say it. I'm gay. Please don't hate me." Blaise looked at Pansy then me. "Well not gay exactly. I'm asexual to be more precise but I'm definitely gay for someone in particular. So yeah, don't hate me."

Parkinson fake pouted. Blaise looked at me for a response. I closed my eyes and shrugged. I really didn't know what he expected. Draco told me to just react the way I thought he would. Draco wouldn't really react anyway. This is his best friend, so sure he was going to accept him. Before I would have thought not. But now I know he definitely would.

"I kind of guessed already. Perhaps not the asexual bit, I thought you were gay." I added for good measure.

Blaise relaxed and slumped next to me. Parkinson squealed. She started hounding him with questions, but he wouldn't say anything. I had learnt over the last two weeks that it's best to give Parkinson a few minutes before interjecting any rant she was on. So I waited a few more minutes.

"Pans. He'll tell us in his own time. Jeez." I groaned. "Unless there's something you have to admit to us?"

She huffed. We decided to go to lunch. The three of us already finished our work. With yesterday's quidditch match we didn't really feel like going anywhere today. Blaise thanked me under his breath as we walked and I nodded. I rounded the corner and walked right smack into someone. Or he walked into me. I raised an eyebrow.

"Watch it Potter!" I groaned.

Draco bit his lip to stop the smile. "You watch it Malfoy!"

That started another infamous Malfoy/Potter argument. Even though Draco and I were messing around, it was rather believable to everyone else. It also got us a detention when a teacher finally broke us up. It was taking everything I had not to burst out laughing. I could see Draco doing the same. Unconsciously we were both chewing on the inside of our cheek.

"Stupid Potter. Getting me into detention already." I moaned.

I shoved my hands in my pockets and felt a piece of parchment. I frowned and pulled it out. 'Neat handwriting. Neatly folded. Addressed to Potter. Yep definitely from Malfoy.' I opened it as we sat down at the table. Blaise saw me and raised an eyebrow. He attempted to read the note over my shoulder, but I shifted a bit so he couldn't see nicely.

I have a problem. Tower at 8.

"What you got there?" Blaise finally asked.

I shrugged and set the note on fire. "Some stupid first year has a crush on me." I lied.

Blaise shrugged. Parkinson frowned. We had our lunch and I was pretty bored so I figured why not stirrup some more trouble. I had detention anyway right?

"Hey Potter! I heard Hagrid lost his cowrdly pet."

Draco growled, clearly acting because of the audience. He spun around and glared at me. Hermione and Ron grabbed his arms. Probably fearing he would attack me.

"Shut up Malfoy before I make you!" Draco yelled.

"Oh lookie here the saviour dishing out threats." Blaise and Parkinson laughed. "Whatever will we do."

"Leave me alone Malfoy." Draco growled.

I swore I heard some amusement in his voice. This was just amazing. Blaise was the first to stop laughing and he rolled his eyes. He pulled on my arm which Draco and I frowned at. Draco because he was confused. Me because I was acting. I had noticed a lot and come to my own conclusions even though they may not be accurate.

"Let's just go Draco." He said softly.

I raised my eyebrow and eyed Blaise. I was about to say something then he pulled my arm again. I huffed and walked away. 'Why on earth was Blaise acting like that? Was he really trying to defend me? Maybe I should have left Parkinson to ask her questions. At least I'dhave accurate answers. Wait when did I start thinking of him as Blaise?'

When we were far enough I spun on my heel. "The fuck was that Zabini!?"

Blaise flinched. "Look I figured you already have detention do you want them to ban you from quidditch too? Because well..."

"Yeah whatever. Let's go I need some candy." I cut him off.

Blaise had a point, but I could tell he just made that excuse up on the spot. Having the life I've had so far I've learnt to read people like a book. Although I am oblivious to feelings really. That still confuses me. Like I can tell when people are attracted to each other even if I don't understand. And somehow I can never tell when I might like someone. I can pick up on the general vide of attraction people have for me I guess.

*~*

A sigh filled the room. I looked to my side as I stirred the potion. Raising an eyebrow at Draco. He slumped down next to me careful not to bump the potion.

"I know I'm not you. You know I'm not you. I also know you and Hermione are like brother and sister. But how are you not uncomfortable with her and Weasley?" Draco sighed again.

I raised my eyebrow higher. "Are you jealous?"

"Of you? No way." Draco huffed. "My friends don't make googly eyes at each other."

"Not of me. Of Ron. You like Hermione don't you? I mean today is the first time since we started this that you've called her Hermione instead of Granger." The smirk was growing on my face.

"How weird was Blaise earlier." Draco said changing the subject rather quickly.

I nodded my head. I didn't mind him not wanting to talk about Hermione and Ron. I sort of had a similar problem I guess. I did want to know how to it though, but I figured there really was nothing to do. At least not with the way things are currently with our act.

*~*

"Where do you go every other night?"

I looked up. "Huh?"

"You zoned out again."

"Sorry Pans just thinking about potions." I mumbled.

Parkinson rolled her eyes. "Blaise says you leave your room a lot. Like 3 out of 7 nights and you come back at like three in the morning each time. Where do you go?"

I shrugged. "A walk."

We were on our way to Defense Against the Dark Arts. Blaise was trailing behind Parkinson and I. I could pretty much tell something was bothering him, but I knew I couldn't push. It hadn't crossed my mind that he would be awake whenever I left and came back.

The reason I stayed out till after three was because it at least proved me with a sort of "cushion". Meaning if I over slept Blaise wouldn't be waking up "Harry Potter" he would be waking up Draco. I know it doesn't really seem right but Blaise doesn't let Draco sleep after 7:30 so it works.

Pansy had given up trying to keep my attention and she went ahead of us to class. Blaise pulled on my arm and dragged me to the side.

"Draco. Are we really not going to address the fact that it's been three and a half weeks yet your father hasn't done anything crazy to get you home." Blaise frowned. "I know you weren't at the manor during the summer. Your father came looking for you at my house."

I raised my eyebrow trying to keep my calm. "Have you said anything to Pansy?"

"No." Blaise said.

"Good. Don't. And don't worry. I'll explain soon. If my father shows I'll deal with it." I said quickly and turned to leave.

Blaise sighed and followed me. He was clearly upset about Draco lying to him, but I couldn't say much without talking to Draco first. I had to wait until after class to get something to him. Or so I thought.

"Mr. Malfoy, Mr. Potter. You will be dueling partners for this lesson. We are practicing defense spells only." Remus said.

Draco walked over to me with a glum look on his face. I cringed inwardly at the look he gave. We prepared for the duel.

"Tower tonight." I whispered quickly before we turned and walked away from each other.

The class went rather quickly. I was grateful for that, but got a bit worried when Remus called Draco after the class. I would have liked to stay, but knew I couldn't. 'We will be able to talk later.'
