I woke up the next day with no sweat. I wasn't sweating which is a new thing for me. I don't remember my dream either which is weird since I have always had the same dream over and over again. It has been two months since this breakout happened and I can't lie about how much progress I've made so far. I have a group to travel with, and I have someone who can relate to the feelings that is running in my heart right now. Which means that I can go to him if I just need to talk to someone. Hopefully he would do the same.
I turned and saw him still sleeping. I looked out the window and saw the sun was out. That means that I had a pretty healthy amount of sleep last night. Maybe because of Harry and I connecting or whatever. I don't know how it happened, but I'm glad to have some good and much needed rest. I can tell that Harry was going through the same thing, because he told me that he had about 3 or 4 hours of sleep before he decided to step outside. I told him that I had a few, so I guess that I covered the other 5 hours that I needed.
"Hey mate, wake up," I said, shaking him. He groaned and just shuffled so that he could get a bit more comfortable and sleep a little more. He turned and he squeezed his eyes before they slowly and hesitantly opened up. "What?" He asked before yawning. "We need to go get to the others," I tell him and he groans a little before sitting up. He fixed his hair before he stood up.
"See you again?" I asked and he tilted his head. "I'll be meeting you with my group. We are just going to be apart for a small bit," he says and I nodded before I assured him with removing the chairs and tables from in front of the door. He looked through the window that was right next to the door. He then looked at me and gave me a firm nod. I opened it and we stepped outside together.
"Well I'll see you later then," I tell Harry and he nods. "I would say in about 30 minutes if there aren't any zombies around. If there is, then make it 45," he tells me. I just nod before I walked in the direction of the hotel building and he went to the house that him and his group were staying in. My hotel building was just a street over, but of course I still faced the undead along the way.
It was a decent fight. I did use some tactics that Harry did when he was alone and was attempting to fight that handful of zombies yesterday. I shot the ones that had their backs facing me. I side a couple as shields so that I could shoot the ones that were primarily trying to get at me. I then shot the ones that I used before I started to jog my way back to the hotel.
When I got there, my group was in the lobby, waiting on someone. When they heard the door open, Liam was relieved to see me. "My god lad. Where were you?" He asked as he approached me. "Just went to clear my mind." "Overnight?" "I'm going through a lot, okay? You don't know my story and I would for it to stay that way for now. I just needed a breather," I said and he sighed before letting it go.
"I did bump into a survivor though," I said and he looked at me. "Well?" "The guy from the store was just hunting and killing the undead last night. He's with a group, and his group is staying in a house 6 streets away from us. He told me that they would be here in 30 or 45 minutes, depending on if there were zombies there or not."
"So we are going to stay here? How do you know if he was lying to you or not?" Xavier asked and I shrugged. "I don't, but it is smart to just wait and see rather then step out there and continue walking away from a place where we were able to find people like we were hoping for the past two months," I tell him.
"Louis is right. We finally found survivors like we were searching for. It is a smart idea for us to wait here for them. If they were lying, then we will go to another place. If anyone wants to go, then they can go." "It is best to have someone with you though. Harry made me realize that," I said and they looked at me. "Talking a lot ab-" "No," I said, cutting Nick off.
I am not in the right mindset to be thinking this way. I won't let them even start to say anything, because if I didn't say anything, then they would definitely continue to tease me. Which I am most certainly not in the mood for. Anyways, I sat on the floor against the wall while the others were talking amongst one another. I looked at my tattoos and just traced them with my finger.
I only had my 28 tattoo and two tattoos on my wrist. There wasn't a lot to trace, but I was really bored, so I didn't really have a lot to do. I still kept watch of everyone else, being sure that they were safe and that there were no zombies entering the building.
Let the wait begin...
35 minutes later...
I heard the door open and I looked right at it to see people rushing in. There were two women and four men. I didn't see Harry though. I got up and walked to the door. I saw him dodging swings from the rotting. I stepped out, shot the one that was approaching the tall lad from behind. I saw Harry pull out an axe before he threw it and it went passed me. I turned and saw the zombie on the ground with an axe in it's head. Harry then stood right behind me and the two of us worked together to clear the area a bit.
"Nice throw," I said. "Nice shot," he responded and I nodded. "So what was the wait?" "Had to fight off the zombies that were in front of the house. Sorry for taking so long." "I asked what happened, not for an apology. I understand," I said. He is pretty caring and nice. I actually like that a bit. With one last kill of those fuckers, we both walked into the hotel building again.
Everyone was looking at us. "What?" I asked. "The two of you were talking out there?" "Yeah?" Harry was just as confused as I was. "So you guys just meet up one night and you guys talk like as if you were lost long friends or something? Did the two of you use to date?" Some brown haired Irish lad asked. "No, and don't even think about entertaining the idea of it," Harry said.
I looked at him and I saw his face change to emotionless real quick. Compared to last night and right now...Harry seemed a lot more relaxed and full of a bit more emotion when we were alone together. I guess all of that changes when he's with others. Maybe it's because of our story's relating to each other's pretty well.
"Alright, sport lad. Now mind introducing your group to us?" The Irish lad said, looking at Zayn. "Sure. My name is Zayn Malik, and this is my boyfriend Liam Payne. The lady with the dyed red hair is Silva Norton and the guy right next to her is her husband, Nick Mosely. Then to the other pair. The lady is Avery Brown, and the guy right behind her is Xavier Sanders, and that guy that's standing next to you is-" "Louis Tomlinson," I said since I knew that he was just going to say my first name. I never gave them my last name.
"Well it's nice to meet you guys. My name is Niall Horan, and the red head next to me is my boyfriend, Ed Sheeran. The two ladies to our right is Shiro Norwood and her wife, Becky Smith. The two men to our left is Mark Thomas and his friend Travis Woods. The tall lad next to Louis is..." "Harry Styles," Harry finished and Niall nodded.
"Well I'm happy to have finally met with survivors. What have you guys been doing?" Liam asked, but I simply tuned them out and walked back to my wall. I was not really shocked to see Harry already standing there, cleaning his axe. "Do you usually just walk away from them like this?" "Either that, or they just forget that I'm there," Harry said.
"Hey, do you think that you could teach me how to use that machete of yours? I only know how to use a gun," I said and he looked up from his axe and at me. "Sure. Just tell me when you want to start taking lessons. Do you also want to learn on how to use this as a weapon?" He asked as he showed me his clean axe. "Sure. The more that I know, the more prepared I am," I tell him and he smiled. "Those are really good words of motivation," he tells me and I smiled. "I know right?"
"Well I guess I could teach you how to hold the thing," he said before he lended his axe to me. I looked at it before I took it out from his hand. I held if with both hands. "Okay..." He said before he helped me find the right holding if the axe. "And when you are ready, you can just use one hand to hold it," he teaches me and I looked at the weapon. "How do you do one hand?" I asked. He then showed me how. "Okay, and try to swing," he tells me and I nod.
I swung and Harry shook his head. "It doesn't and shouldn't take a lot of energy. You just do this," he said and showed me as I was holding it. He did it a few times before he left me to do it myself. "You two are already getting close over there?" Zayn asked and I looked at him.
"I'm not saying anything that relates to dating, but you guys are practically friends, right?" He asks and I looked at Harry. Harry just nodded at him. "Yeah," I said and he smiled at that. "Good. Everyone needs someone," he says and I looked at Harry again. He was just staring at Zayn. "Hey! You're teaching me how to fight with this thing or what?" I asked and he blinked before looking at me.
"Right. Sorry," he said and we spent the next 20 minutes, teaching me how to use an axe against the undead. Harry was not bad at teaching, but there were a few times where he was close to taking the axe from me and just telling me to use my gun. Why he was so close to that was because of me nearly hitting him 12 times.
"Good job Louis, but I think you having two hands on it will be best for you right now," he tells me and I sighed. "Don't fret. You'll get there at some point. I'll help you as long as you need it," he then said and I smiled again. "Thanks lad," I said and he shrugged his shoulders.
"Alright everyone, we are heading out now," Zayn said and I looked at him. "Where are we going?" I asked and he shrugged. "At this point, we are just traveling until we reach another, but a more safer place," he says. "Ready?" Harry asks and I look at him, then at his axe. "Here. I'll stick with my guns for now," I tell him.
He just took it and walked to the front of everyone. I got my things and joined Harry at the front. We took the doors by its handles before we all headed out if the tall building. Harry and I were leading, and we didn't say much, but we didn't stay quiet the entire time. We didn't talk to the group though. Just each other.
I am kind of glad to have someone who knows what I'm going through right now...
