Twenty Nine.

The lights flash, and I hold peeta's hand tightly. "Deep breaths.." He reminds me.

"Katniss! Katniss!" Capitol voices call ringing in my ears. "Katniss can I just talk to you for a few moments!" A woman with colorful hair calls loudly.

I look at Peeta, who nods and leads us to her. "Hi guys." She smiles talking into a microphone. I nod quickly as a form of a greeting, and then look at the camera the man behind her is holding.

"Hi." Peeta nods.

"So guys, just a few quick questions." I nod and so do Peeta. "So first question, what have you two as a couple and by yourselves accomplished since the war?"

I look at Peeta. I haven't done anything since then..

"Well for a while I briefly was the president of District Twelve, right after the war. Also, with the help of Katniss, we rebuilt my families' bakery."

"Katniss?" She asks me.

"I also, currently, am the president of District Twelve. And have also started a beautiful family since then."

"That's amazing." She smiles. "What are you two's plans for the future?" She then asks us.

"We don't really have anything planned for us at the moment.." Peeta pauses while talking. "But we just want to live life to the fullest and see where that takes us." I smile and peck his cheek.

"Okay you two, I think we have enough footage. Thank you." She smiles and shakes our hands before we turn and walk away to our next interview.

We sit down, and smile at everyone who looks directly at us, who is absolutely everyone in the room.

Someone taps on a champagne flute with a knife. "Attention .. Attention .." Someone says. I see its Plutarch. "We are all here today for one reason, one reason by the name of Katniss Everdeen."

Everyone looks at me. Peeta squeezes my hand on the table top. "Would you like to say anything today?" He asks me.

"I just want to thank everyone who came out today. It means a lot to all of us that you all took time out of your daily schedules to come and support those who have lost and fought in the war. So, thank you to all who have came out today, and fought beside me, and thank everyone for your courage, your bravery, and your sacrifice."

I sit down. Peeta looks at me. "Katniss that was astonishing. How did you ever come up with that? You've never spoken so good before." He says with a long smile as he presses his lips to mine and then his hands on my cheeks.

"Peeta, would you like to say anything at all?" Plutarch asks him.

"I think she said it pretty well."

"I can remember exactly where I was when the bombs dropped in twelve, I was walking to get my children from school. I could see them. They were on the other side of fence. I heard the planes before I saw them, and when I did it was too late. The bombs dropped, and almost instantly I saw my three children disintegrated before my eyes.. Now, most people would have stopped, and wished for death. But I took that experience and built off it. I worked my ass off to do my part in the war. And that made me the person I am today."

Everyone claps. I can't even comprehend how this woman is still living and breathing today.

I would have killed myself.  I never ever would have came out of watching my children

. And I had to resort to eating all of the mints from my purse they made me bring.

When we finally eat dinner, it's so rich that I get an upset stomach half way through.

Dessert is just about to be served when Peeta slings an arm around my shoulders and puts his mouth close to my ear.

"So after this, we could go to the VIP party, or we could go to the party that their having a few blocks down under ground, it's an all night and day dance rave.." He says.

"The underground one sounds fun." I smile and nod kissing his lips slowly and for a long time considering we're in public.

"Dessert?" A server asks us and places a plate in front of us.

Some kind of pie, with fresh fruit and a scoop of ice cream on top.

I only eat a bite before giving the rest to Peeta, he appreciates rich Capitol food more than I do.

While he'd rather eat a lavish meal made by the chefs of the Capitol; i'd rather have a meal cooked by my dad or mom, or even Hazel Hawthorn.

When I won my first games, I went all out and spent so much money on rich, expensive foods from the shops in town, I was never seen in small seam shops for at least a year.

But when soon, I realized that the food was changing me. I needed to stop being someone I wasn't and go back to the way it was before.

Before I can blink again, the dining hall is completely empty.

"Coming Kat?" Peeta asks standing by the door, holding his hand out.

"Yeah." I stand and meet him at the door.

"We have to stop back at the room before the party to change."

"Okay." I nod and follow him to the car.

I stare at the dress they gave me to wear for the after party. Little do they know we aren't going to the one they wanted us to.

The dress is white. Absolutely skin tight with a trail of rhinestones trailing down to just about my belly button. Three slots in the fabric show off my bare skin.

But I slip into I anyways. Even though it's the sluttiest dress I've ever seen.

I put on the tall heels and walk out into the main room where Peeta is.

He looks up from his book. "Well hot fucking damn ..." He mutters. "Your wearing that?"

"It's all I have." I shrug.

"Well it looks hot." He says running his hands up and down my sides.

"Let's go." I chuckle and grab his hand pulling him out the door.

"Can't we just stay home and you can show me more of that dress?" He whines.

"Nope. We can't. Now let's go." I smirk and pull him into the waiting cab.

"Third and Allen street, the underground rave." Peeta says as we sit down together.

"You two do sure seem to be dressed for a night out." The driver laughs.

"Well we are." I chuckle and smile.

We drive in silence, peeta's eyes starring down my body and the dress as we sit. But every time I look at him he looks away and blushes.

"I'm your wife, you don't have to look away." I say with a slight laugh.

"I know but it's just embarrassing." He admits.

I lean into him and press my lips to his leaving my hand on his thigh.

We pull up to the club when we're still kissing. So, I break and exit the cab.

I stand waiting for Peeta, and while I'm waiting I observe the crowd around me.

There is no fence, there is no barrier between us and the screaming, excited people. A few young girls come up to me with large smiles on their faces.

I see a older woman, who thanks me and tells me I saved her child once. I don't remember it. I never do. I believe I blocked that part of my life out of my memory.

I see a taller man. He stands in the back, behind a younger girl. I pay no mind to him.

I talk to many other people. Peeta and I split off as we talk to other waiting fans.

I make my way around, and see the man with the young girl. He wears a long, dark coat. With his hand inside of it. Probably fishing in there for a phone.

"Hi honey." I smile to her.

"Oh goodness hi, your my hero." She gushed and wraps her arms around me.

"Why thank you." I smile.

I look up at her father. "Hi sir, how are you-"

Something pushes into my chest.

That's when I realize what he was looking for in that jacket.

A sawed off shotgun.
