"What the hell is miss mockingjay doing sleeping on the job?" I'm shaken awake from my peaceful slumber.

"Huh?" I grumble sitting up and looking around.

"Get up damn it." I run my eyes and find Gale. I fling my arms around his neck and he happily lifts me up to stand. "Nice to see you too." He says with a smile before pressing a kiss to my forehead.

"Did you make it okay?" I ask.

He holds his arms out. "I'm here in one piece aren't I?" He smiles.

"Yes." I hug him again.

"Wait." He says gently pushing me away. "Where's Peeta?"

"Already in thirteen." I say. "Him, Vanc, and Dayne took about four hundred the rest of the way and the rest of us stayed to fight them." I say shrugging down over the cliff.

"Them?" He questions looking down. I watch him lean over the side. He jumps suddenly with a shout. "Holy shit!"

"Yeah, we need your bombs." I say.

"Yeah I got them." He nods. "But look." He smiles. "A deer."

A whitetail slowly makes its way around the outer edge of the pack of robots. None of them move.

The deer grunts, and every single mutt turns and engages a gun. The deer senses the danger and rushes away.

Then it clicks to us both.

"They're blind." We say together.

"If we can sneak past them, we can lay down the bombs next to them and run away."

"Or.." I start. "And just hear my out, we drop them over the side of the cliff."

"The wait period is too short."

"Well how the fuck do we activate them in the first place?" I snap.

"By pressing them."

"So." I say standing to face him and get closer to his chest. "Your telling me you want one of my men to activate a bomb and almost guarantee his death?"

"They won't die-"

"If they mutts don't get them, the bomb sure as hell will." I snap. "So, you tell me Gale, what the hell do we do?"

"Okay look. They haven't moved in hours have they?"

"No." I say angrily.

"Then who's to say they'll stay after we just leave."

"Who's to say they won't chase after us, or self destruct or just outright kill us?"

"Okay, you do have a point. But calm down, I can't help you didn't think up a plan."

"Well sorry but some of us have bigger issues."

"And what's that?" I stay silent when he asks. "That's what I thought." He says and stalks away.

"Okay guys, everyone here." I say sitting down at the campfire. A pot sits in the coals, and I sigh as I smell the tea they've made.

I look up at Gale. "I remembered it used to be your favorite." He speaks genuinely.

Pine needles cook in a large pot filled with water, honey and some mint leaves are scattered throughout also.

"Thank you." I smile weakly down at the ground as I dish myself out some.

Blaze, Johanna, Ennobaria, Brutus, and Haymitch gather around me.

"We've got a few options."

"Oh." Johanna says. "So you guys were actually thinking of logical things to do besides fighting with each other."

"Shut it." Gale snaps. "Let her speak."

We may bicker like children. We may say things we don't ever mean. He's still my brother no matter what.

"So, we have a few options as I was saying before."

"And those are?" Brutus asks raising an eyebrow.

"We could just leave; they haven't gone anywhere yet, so why should they now?" I wait to let that sink in. "Or, we blow them up with his bombs."

Everyone chuckles. "I say that's what we do, sounds fun." Blaze says.

"This isn't about fun." I bark. "It's about what's smartest. And there's some complicated issues with that."

"And what are those?" Blaze asks obviously irritated with my yelling.

"Well, Gale and I have learned their blind."

"Blind?" He chuckles. "You expect us to believe that?"

"Well don't you?" Gale asks.

"Not for a damn second."

"And why's that?" He stands to meet Blaze's standing figure.

"You expect me to believe the government sent out mutts that weren't perfect?" He crosses his arms confident with his answer.

"I don't know Blaze. You got a better fucking idea?"

"Maybe a new fucking leader, huh?" He asks getting in my face.

"Blaze." Johanna says. "That's enough, back off."

"You trust her?" He asks angrily. "Do you trust her Johanna!" He barks.

"I do." She nods.

"Why?"

"Because she's done this how many times now? She's got so much more experience than any of us."

"Experience doesn't matter if you don't have brains."

"Fine." I snap quickly. "Fine, let's do it your way, huh? How about it. Come on! Lead us great mocking jay!" I scream pushing him back a few feet. "Lead us to victory!" He stays silent, his face showing his obvious shock.

I turn and walk away. "Katniss you should do it I-"

"No!" I shout. "You wanna talk big shit. You do it!"

He looks at everyone. "Katniss he obviously doesn't know what to do." I snap my head to look at Gale.

"No, he's going to do this. He wants to talk big, he needs to follow through."

"This isn't the place to try and prove a point."

"No better time than the here and now." I smirk and walk away plopping down in the middle of our soldiers.

I watch the superiors talk amongst themselves quietly.

"What's happening Kat?" A sweet voice asks beside me. I turn and find my baby sister.

I jump back with a shriek, but when I look she's gone. "P-Prim?" I ask softly turning in circles looking for her.  

Her laugh rings in my head. Pounding hard. "Stop!" I say softly hitting my temples with my palms.

Everyone watches me worried.

I rush away behind some brush and curl into a ball. "Katnip?" A soft voice says. "I know your back here."

"Go away Gale." I cry.

"Come on girl, you can't make him do that."

"I am!" I exclaim sitting up suddenly. "I can't be the leader you guys want and need."

"Yes you are!" He laughs. "Your the perfect leader." I remain silent. "Get up."

"Where are we going?"

He pulls me up by my arm. "Your gonna go back out there and order him to come up with a plan and follow through. And once it's all said and done, we'll all know who's the real leader."

I take a deep breath. "Your right. We got this. Come on." I jump a few times and kiss his cheek. "Don't take it that way Hawthorne, just being friendly."

He laughs. "Oh Katnip.." He sighs. "I'll always take it that way."
