A Spirit Here That Won't Be Broken

What made the city of New Orleans what it is well known for the music, festivals, mysterious streets that has stories behind- they seem meaningless. The loud jazz ensembles rarely performed out on the streets let alone in a club, hardly any tourists visiting the crescent city, a very few people who lives in the city walk around talking and laughing with one another. It seems so dull.

Hope sits on the windowsill of her room, watching as a few people walk by in the street droned in their phone or listening to music with earbuds.

"The Hollow, she's getting stronger."Hope blurted out as her father was standing in the doorway.

"You can sense her?"Derek asked and Hope only sighed "When we first got here, there was always music outside, people dancing, laughing. But since she came back, it's so quiet. Like she's draining everything out of the city. She already took Uncle Elijah. And soon she will come for the rest of us."

Derek walked toward her.

"Listen, Hope, I know you're scared. But over the years, a lot of bad people have stood against our family, and all of them have fallen. The Hollow is no different."Derek assured her, but she only shakes her head.

"No, she is different."Hope said.

Gia stands in the room where Elijah's body lies in a coffin, his body desiccated.

Gia was wearing a top with a leather jacket, a jean and some boots.

She stared at Elijah, getting flashbacks of what she seen in his mind and she experienced while trying to help him. Her hand softly grazes the area where she felt his fangs digging into her skin almost like the feeling of needles. Gia doesn't know if she feels empathy for him or feels frightened.

The sounds of cracking alerts her. Her head turned towards the source of the sound, walking towards the lit candles that has the pendant with Elijah inside hanging from it. She takes it off the holder and looked at the rock, noticing cracks start to form very slowly. She hugs the pendant close to her body before leaving the room to inform Freya of what's happened.

"Despite the spell I cast, the very integrity of the pendant is growing unstable." Freya explained, examining the pendant that has more cracks than before.

" It won't be able to hold Elijah's soul much longer. We need to find a way to resurrect him tonight, or we could lose him forever." Lola joined the conversation from where she leaned against the wall and pushed off to join the others.

She was wearing a T-shirt with a jacket, a jean and some boots.

"To do that, we'll need more power."Lola stated with a pout in her lip.

"Let me guess, a grand sacrifice."Klaus asked in annoyance and crossed his arms.

"I say we kill our enemy and sacrifice her, then I can channel the power from the Hollow's death, raise Elijah's body, and place him back where he belongs."Lola explained her idea while gesting with her hands.

"We've tried everything."Hayley said, walking in.

"And we've come close. Labonair blood is her Achilles' heel. Hayley, your blood weakened her, but you've technically been dead for years. So it won't be strong enough to kill her. If we forge a blade using the blood of another living Labonair..."Freya stated.

"I don't want my daughter involved."Hayley said.

Liv walked in and said "She is already involved. Your daughter have been obsessed with the symbol that follows the Hollow: the serpent consuming itself. Now, I believe this is showing us the key, the only means to which she can be destroyed, her own blood. The Hollow's one end of the Labonair bloodline. Your daughter is the other."

Liv was wearing a top with a jean and some boots.

"And we need to close that loop. The best way to do that is for you to wield a weapon forged with Hope's blood. When she stabs her, it's only then the Hollow can be obliterated completely."Freya finished, looking at Hayley.

"Then we make it work. I'll talk to Andrea. Good thing I brought her to play with the kids today."Hayley speaks up confidently, but feeling anxious.

Few moments later, Hayley stands next to a lit candle with a pin hovering over it. She then stepped away and walked towards where her daughter sat at the small table meant for the Mikaelson children. Andrea volunteered herself to draw her blood for her mother, but once she noticed the sharp object in her mother's hand, he gets nervous.

"I don't want to."Andrea muttered and Hayley kneeled on the floor.

"Are you scared it's gonna hurt?"Hayley asked.

"I'm scared if I do this, you're gonna pick a fight. And the Hollow, she can hurt you."Andrea told her mother and Hayley holds her small hand.

" I know you're scared. I wish we didn't have to have this conversation. When I was your age, I had to deal with a lot of things that I didn't want to deal with either. I didn't want that for you, but here we are. The thing is, sometimes you have to do things that you don't want to do because you're the only one that can do them."Hayley says.

"Like you." Andrea stated.

"Like me." Hayley said.

"Okay." Andrea sighed and she holds her finger out for her mother and Hayley holds her finger, poking it so she can draw her blood.

Downstairs with weapon laid out on a table, Lola picked one of the daggers up twisting it around to get a better look at it while Klaus and Kol lays more out.

"Rebekah's not answering."Freya sighed in frustration after hanging up her phone from being sent to voicemail.

"The sooner we end this the better."Kol says, nodding.

"No. We have to assume that Inadu's totem is still intact. We cannot attack her until we destroy it. Go after Rebekah, find the totem."Freya exclaimed and sighed.

"We're not leaving our mates alone." Klaus said.

"We're out of time. The cracks are getting worse. I need you to destroy the totem. I'll go with Hayley and Lola." Freya says in desperation.

"No, you won't. They can take care of themselves. You are pregnant and I can't risk something happening to the baby." Derek told her.

"And what about the children?" Kol asked.

"Me, Ambrose, Gia, Liv and I will stay with them."Derek answered.

"You are the best advantage we got. Be fast, be brutal, destroy the totem, or we're dead."Freya stated.

Klaus picked up three weapons and said "Here, for Lola and Hayley tonight. Anoint these with a drop of Andrea's blood. They'll serve you well."

Later, Lola and Hayley arrived at the white mansion that looked abandoned from the outside with the dry grass surrounding the lawn and a few broken parts on the home and the gate in front of it. Without any hesitation, Lola marches onto the property with Hayley following close behind.

"I sealed these with Andrea's blood. One for each of us. Once the totem is destroyed, we can sacrifice the Hollow."Lola explained but once they get close to the bottom of the steps, she stooped.

Hayley stopped in her tracks as well and turned to face Kiara while she stands on the porch and asked "Are you okay?"

"Yeah. I never thought twice about fighting or dying for family before. But now, with us being mothers..."Lola trailed.

" Now you have someone you're afraid you're not gonna make it home to. You will make it home, Lola. I got your back."Hayley says, nodding in agreement, feeling the same way.

The two women unsheathe the daggers covered in Andrea's blood and enter the mansion, meeting them inside the building are bodies with dried up blood on their faces. Suddenly, the front door closes from behind them with a loud bang and Lola huffed "I guess she knows we're here."

Hayley looked around at the bodies and her eyes land on double doors with one of thel cracked open where they see a sliver of what's inside. Hayley slowly approached the door, pushing it open until Freya flies back, hitting a chair and knocking her unconscious and Lola's neck is snapped on the spot. A gasp escaped Hayley's lips and she turned around to see a young girl descend down the stairs, waving her hand and snapping her neck to neutralize her.

Once her body hits the floor, Hayley quickly awake to see she's in a completely different place that all too familiar to her, the Bayou. She slowly sits up, looking down at what she's pressing her hands against to see it's the wood of the dock where her old shack was.

"There you are."A voice said and the sound of his voice sent shivers down her spine, wondering whether this is just her imagination, a dream. Hayley turned around to see Jackson.

"Jackson?"Hayley asked.

"Been waiting for you."Jackson said.

"How am I here? How are you here?"Hayley questioned.

"I'm no expert, but I'm guessing you're going through some kind of psychological break right now. You've been through hell. So your mind took you somewhere peaceful." Jackson said.

"So... if I'm unconscious, then I need to wake up."Hayley says.

"I know. I know. I'm on your side. We'll get you back in the fight, before the Hollow finishes whatever she started." Jackson told her.

"I need to snap out of this. If I don't, we could lose Elijah forever."Hayley thinks out loud and sighed.

"Is he good to you? Hey, talk to me. It ain't gonna kill me."Jackson blurted and Hayley looked at him confused.

" He has been good to me. That is why he's like the brother I never had, I was scared of losing my family, of... being a mom, and he made me feel safe. But now, I..." Hayley trailed off with her wors and Jackson only nodded.

"Well, if you wanted safety, you would've loved me."Jackson stated harshly.

"Really, Jack? I already told you he's my brother in every sense of the way and you're the love of my life."Hayley said.

"I guess it's an old, sad story. The monsters treated you like crap, turned you into a girl who loves monsters." Jackson said.

"You're not helping me. You're stalling me. No. Oh, you're not you. You're the Hollow."Hayley realized.

"You figured that out quicker than I thought you would...You're wasting your energy."The Hollow said through Jackson's voice as Hayley decided to fight back as she begin to hit him over and over.

"You're a vision. You can't hurt me."Hayley said full of hate and hurt.

"You still don't get it, do you? The Hollow is more powerful than you can possibly imagine."He said trying to get to realise that the usual limits that applied to normal witches didn't apply to the hollow.

"So tell me, why are you doing this?" Hayley asked, realising that there had to be a reason why she was doing whatever it is she doing to her but she couldn't work what or what that would be.

"You know it's sad because you've seen who Elijah is really is, you saw the violences and the rage. That's what he is!" Jackson said still continuing to taunt and mock her friendship for Elijah.

"And your point is?" Hayley asked refusing to play along with whatever game she was playing with her right now.

"You fell for the suit, Hayley. You were blinded by his charade."He said trying to find some way to hurt her in a way that would affect her later as well as keep her right where she was.

"Stop this! You're not Jackson, and you don't deserve to wear his face."Hayley snapped.

"You're right. Jackson was good. And me...well, I was never good."The Hollow said now in the body and the voice of Elijah before he then grabbed Hayley by the neck making it hard for her to breath.

"Hayley? Hayley! Wake up."Lola said snapping Hayley out of it to see her sitting in the chair weak with a cut in her arm and surrounded by vials of werewolf venom and needles.

"Are you all right?" Lola then asked.

"I will be when we finally defeat the hollow, do you think Klaus or Kol broke the totem yet?" Hayley told them knowing that they need to break that before even attempting to kill the hollow as she wanted to be done with this now.

"I hope so. But we can't wait. You need to stab the Hollow. You think you'll be strong enough?" Lola said.

"Let's do this." Hayley says, nodding.

At the compound, Klaus and Kol had broken the totem after fighting Kai and he left.

"Oh god I hate him!" Kol groaned.

"What couldn't he stay dead?" Klaus added.

In the abandoned home, the young girl Inadu softly chants an incantation while mixing liquids in a bowk and using a blade to mix them, watching as it coagulates. She lifted the bowl to her lips and drinks the thick liquid, ingesting all of it like she planned. The door swings open by Hayley, gripping the blade in her hand and ready to strike her, but is stopped by Inadu.

"First, I will break your body. Then I will break your spirit. Your spirit is nearly broken already, isn't it?"Inadu said as she inches towards the tribrid.

Lola rushed inside, using her magic to telekinetically stab a scalpel into the young girl's neck. Inadu chokes from the sharp object and manages to pull it out, stopping from bleeding out. Hayley kicked her back onto the ground where she is weak and hovers over the girl, holding the blade up.

"Do it."Inadu urged the hybrid.

Hayley raised the blade into the air and stabbed it into Inadu's chest, growling as she continued to stab the girl due to the pent up anger. Tears begin to form in her eyes from all the anger until Kiara pulled Hayley back, holding her close.

"That's enough! That's enough! She's gone. She's gone."Lola says into her ear softly to calm her down.

The ride home back to the compound was silent as the heretic and the hybrid were lost in their thoughts after killing the Hollow once and for all. Derek  and Gia made sure to get the kids ready for bed while Hayley washes off the blood and threw away her bloodied clothes and Kol and Klaus were in the room with Ambrose, Liv, Freya and Lola where they'll bring Elijah back.

Meanwhile, Andrea stares out the open window with an emotionless expression on her face. Her eyes glow blue. Footsteps can be heard outside of the room, so to avoid any conversion with anyone Andrea climbs into her bed quietly and covers up, her back facing the door. Hayley softly pushes open the bedroom door and pans around the room to see her daughter sleeping peacefully. A small smile appears on her face and she quietly closes the door while Andrea stares out the window again, her eyes glowing the bright blue.
