Building Stability.

Lapis stayed in his room for most days, which seemed to work out since Parchment minded her own business most of the time. It was only when she needed to go out did he come out of his room to join her. Every time they went out, she continued to impress him.

"Blessing of Temperance!"

A soft light covered the two as they stepped outside the house. He gave her a gentle smile before they continued forward. She said she was a cleric, but something told him to silently doubt it. Still, every time they went out, she was mostly healing.

And then there were the members of the Oblivia Army.

"Clerics are supposed to be dead."

"Those are Necromancers. Or Shadow Knights if you'd rather talk about them. Either way, how are you still alive if Clerics are supposed to be dead?"

"Shamans and Druids."

"You're stupid, right? They may be good, but I'm sure they need weeks of regeneration. Do you have Enchanters?"

"Nope!"

"Those poor casters."

Lapis couldn't help but chuckle as Parchment scanned her spell book. They had intercepted the small regiment that was attacking some Monks. She then closed her eyes.

"Complete Heal!"

With a single light, the Monks were healed to full health. She then casted something else, but never said the spell name. She closed the spell book before smiling at the group.

"All good now?" They nodded.

"Thank you, miss." They bowed before leaving, talking in soft voices. She smiled before turning to the troops.

"Now then. Leave the citizens alone. You don't want me mad of all people."

"Oh, and what will you do? Heal us? Not heal us?" They started laughing as she sighed.

"I will step out of line and deal with you properly." They stopped laughing and looked at her with confusion.

"Eh?" She hummed as the leader stood up.

"You and what army?"

"Clearly not the one behind you." Her Spellbook re-entered her hand. "Choose wisely or I'll deal with you properly."

"Do it. I dare you." She scoffed before glancing at Lapis.

"Do you mind getting those berries we came to get? I'll be done shortly." Lapis frowned before heading off, deciding it was better to not watch.

The second he left her line of vision, she flipped through to a certain page.

"Ancient Strike of Chaos!"

Flames flamed down on the troops, quickly tearing them down. There was barely a scream before she casted again.

"Cancel Magic!"

The flames instantly vanished, leaving no trace of their existence. Or of any fighting. She sighed before Lapis's voice returned.

"Parchment?" She turned as he entered the clearing, pausing slightly. "All done?"

"Yep! Nothing too hard. I'm a little surprised that the Monks had trouble, but it was probably an ambush for them. We're good to go. You get the berries?" Lapis nodded.

"Yep. I think I got enough..." She smiled.

"Alright. Then let's head back."

~

For the most part, Lapis trusted Parchment. And she made sure that even if she had to leave him alone, she had help.

"Lapis! I have stuff to do! I'll be back! Rand will be by in 15 minutes to check on you, ok?" He paused before smiling softly.

"Ok!" She giggled softly before heading out.

Exactly 15 minutes later, the door opened and Rand's familiar voice echoed.

"Lapis! I'm here! You need anything?" Lapis gulped as his stomach growled.

"Just lunch!"

"Got it!"

Parchment understood him better than most and got her friend group to assist her. In which, the group consisted of Rand, who was an Enchanter, Leanne, who was a Necromancer, Nema, who was a Magician, Nick, who was a Druid, Redal, who was a Wizard, Bella, who was a Warrior, Paul, who was a Warlock, and Ravio, who was a Shaman. They all worked together to make him feel at home even if they weren't all there full time.

~

What really interested him was how she was able to hide things from him. It was like she knew she was a part of the Prophecy, but also knew he had a bad time with the others. So she must've hid the truth to comfort him.

What he didn't know was that the real reason was from the other two parts.

~

"Parchment... right?"

She turned at her name. Lapis was in bed, so she was finishing up to go to her room. Before her was a floated orb.

"Yes..." A sigh of relief followed before it spoke again.

"My name's Midnight, one of the other parts of the Prophecy. Is... Lapis there?"

"Yeah... Asleep, but he's here." MIdnight seemed to gulp at that.

"Don't let him figure this out, but me and some others were hoping to speak to him again. The border's stopping us right now, but when that border opens, could we get a chance to talk to him?" She smiled.

"Don't worry about that. He's not moving anytime soon. I'll make sure of that."

~

Lapis stretched as he joined her outside.

"Ready?" He nodded before she casted her usual spell before they headed out.
