Chapter 9: Our Unseen Shadows
Ash POV
"Hi honey!" Said Delia.
They all had the same expression as me: complete hate. Nobody responded to her in hopes she hadn't fully noticed us. Unfortunately we were wrong.
She walked to our table. "How's my little champion doing?" She had the audacity to give me a hug.
Immediately, I shoved her away from me. "Don't even try that Delia. The others alrady tried to coax me into becoming friends again. What makes you think that you have a better chance?" I snarled.
She feigned a look of shock. "What are you talking about Ash? We were controlled. Don't you want your old life back?" She tried to hug me again.
Lillie and Brock stepped in front of her. "If you take one more step towards him, we will personally toss you out of here." Lillie threatened.
She began to get angry. "He's my son, not yours. Now back off."
I glared at her. "You lost that right the minute I walked out of that door 3 years ago. Be happy that I haven't thrown you out myself already."
As if on cue, the Traitors walked in the room and began supporting Delia, except for Professor Oak, who was watching from a small distance.
"How could you behave that way to your own mother you heartless jerk?" Iris questioned in anger.
Latias stood up. "Simple. It's called being abandoned for 3 years. Maybe if you knew how it felt, you would understand. Now get out of here already."
Dawn sneered. "Who are you anyways? You need to stop meddling in affairs that don't concern you."
"I'm one of Ash's 'true' friends. Of course it concerns me." Latias stated simply.
Delia started getting impatient. "Ash, you get over here now! I am your mother, and you have no right to deny any of my commands."
"You don't have any power over me Delia. Maybe if you hadn't told a certain someone to abandon everything they had been living for, then this would be different. But it isn't. Now leave us alone so we can finish eating!" I replied angrily.
She didn't back down. "Not until you stop acting like a brat and listen to me." Oh this is going to take a while.
Professor Oak POV
Honestly, this is starting to get out of hand. I feel like I should probably go help Ash right about now before his mother resorts to attempted murder or something more drastic.
Before I could move I heard a voice behind me. "I guess Delia also wants something out of Ash. Otherwise she wouldn't be doing this right now, huh?"
I turned around and saw Misty standing there watching the argument unfold with a disappointed expression on her face. I guess she didn't want any part of this either. I can't blame her.
"Yeah. She told me on the way here that she wanted Ash back simply because he is Alolan Champion. She said that Champions make great money for their jobs, so she wants him back so she can buy about anything she wants with Ash's money." I informed her.
She looked angry now. "What a gold digger! I can't believe that's her intentions. All the others want is the Z Ring thing that powers up attacks from him."
I got curious. "So what do you want from him then? Surely you have something you want as well."
She looked me dead in the eyes. "I want my two closest friends back. That's it. I could care less if Ash and Brock are powerful trainers."
I smiled at her. "Good choice. Although, you will have to earn it back the right way. That means stop drugging your Pokémon cause Ash knows about that, and also you have to help him rather than turn your back to him."
She narrowed her eyes. "Wait, how does he know about that?"
I chuckled. "How do you think he knows about what everyone has been up to? I was helping him from the start. Now let's go help him out."
We both walked head first into the disaster zone of this argument.
3rd Person POV
Delia had enough of this pointless bickering. "THAT'S IT! ASH, YOU ARE COMING WITH ME WHETHER YOU WANT TO OR NOT!"
She threw Lillie out of the way, and grabbed Ash. Before she could do anything however, Brock grabbed her and wretched her hand off of Ash. Delia had lost balance and was knocked back some.
"YOU ARE GOING TO PAY FOR THAT!" Before she could touch Brock, she felt two people holding her back. Everyone looked in shock as Professor Oak and Misty held the angry mother at bay.
"THAT'S ENOUGH DELIA!" Professor Oak shouted.
"You are going way too far. Just leave him alone." Misty stated.
"NOT UNTIL HE ACKNOWLEDGES ME AS HIS MOTHER!" Delia fired back.
"The league can kick you out of here in an instant. If you even try to threaten me or my friends, I will have them remove you. Now leave." Ash said.
Delia finally gave up. Her and the Traitors left, except for Misty and the Professor.
"Thanks Professor. That could been bad." Brock said.
"No problem. I just wish they would leave you guys alone." The Professor responded with annoyance in his voice.
Ash turned to Misty. "Why are you here? Shouldn't you be with your own friends plotting my demise or something?"
She showed a regretful expression on her face. "I'd rather be with the friends that I know better. I know you both probably won't forgive me right now, but I want to at least try to rekindle our friendship if you would let me. I don't want anything from you other than a second chance."
"She is being truthful Ash. I asked her myself." Oak added.
Ash wasn't taking chances yet. He read her aura and saw that she meant every word she said. After a moment of thinking, him and Brock exchanged looks.
"Ok. We forgive you." They both said. "We haven't forgotten it though, so we aren't fully friends again. We will let you have this chance. However, if you double cross us, you might as well not even come near us again."
She walked up to her old friends and gave them a hug. "Trust me. I don't plan to."
Lillie recovered from the argument. "We should probably leave before they start something again. I don't want to deal with them for at least another day or two."
Ash POV
We all left the restaurant, and went to our rooms. Misty and the Professor chose to stay with Brock since he had the most room. As for Latias, she chose to go back in her Pokeball to cool off.
Lillie and I tried to calm down after everything that happened, but even after sitting and watching a movie together, we couldn't calm down.
I couldn't sit still any longer. "Let's just go on a walk Lillie. I'll grab Pikachu and take Pidgeot and Latias just in case we get in trouble."
"Yeah. I can't sit any longer either." She agreed.
After leaving our rooms, we toured the Indigo Pleateu for a while and we finally managed to cool off some. I got Lillie and myself each an Ice Cream, and we sat down on a bench to eat them.
"I love Vanilla. Thanks Ash." She happily took her Ice Cream. However, before she could eat any of it, something jumped out of my shadow, and took her Ice Cream.
"Hey, get back here." I shouted at it.
We chased after the Pokemon into the forest, where we lost it after a minute.
"What was that?" Lillie asked.
"I don't know. It was too fast for me to see." I said.
Suddenly the shadow appeared on front of us. It stood there and just stared at me. Pikachu jumped off my shoulder and started playing with the Pokemon. Suddenly, I remembered where I saw this guy...
"Marshadow, it's you. How have you been?" I asked.
The Mythical Pokemon walked up and gave me a hug. "After witnessing that argument, I have been better. Your mother needs to be nicer than that if she wants any chance of being with you again." He spoke through Telepathy.
Lillie looked confused. "Ash, who is that?"
I began the introduction as Marshadow and Pikachu played for a little bit. "Lillie, this is Marshadow. He is a Pokemon that is very rarely seen outside of the shadows, where he lives. I met him as my journey through Kanto was starting."
She was still confused. "So he isn't your Pokemon?"
"No. But he is really nice though." I smiled.
Marshadow spoke up. "Actually Ash, I came to ask you something. I have witnessed your journey and struggles. So after thinking about it, I want to join your team. Will you let me join you?" He asked.
I was stunned. "Really? Are you sure?"
Marshadow laughed. "Of course I am. If you will have me, that is."
I smirked and grabbed a Pokeball. "Deffinitely. Welcome to the team, Marshadow."
He tapped the Pokeball and was sucked inside. 1...2...3...Click. "Alright! I just caught Marshadow!" I stated.
Lillie looked a bit happy. "He may have stolen my Ice Cream, but this guy must be powerful. I can't wait to see what he can do."
I laughed. "Same here. Now let's go look at the new matchups. The last match ended 30 minutes ago so they should be up."
We got to the Pokemon Center and saw that the round 3 matches in 2 days are up. We waited until they were less crowded in order to see who we are up against. After a second, we walked up the board.
"Ok, let's see here..." I looked for our matches.
As I saw some of our matches, I started losing it. Those are must see matches if anything.
"So what are they, Ash?" Lillie asked as she couldn't find them. I pointed to all our names.
Red vs Trevor
Lillie vs Lorelei
Bonnie vs Anabel
And then I pointed to the last two...
Brock vs Dawn
Cilan vs Iris
Now these matches, I am excited to write. It's about time the others get some spotlight. Anyways Comment Question: Who is your favorite Mythical Pokemon. If you don't know, Mythical Pokemon are basically like Celebi or Jirachi. Mine is definitely Marshadow. He is just all around cool, and in Competitive, he got banned to Ubers in like 2-3 days. Talk about broken. But anyways I hope you all enjoy your day.
