Chapter 8: Washed Up
Ash POV
"Well, this one will be interesting." I said with a bit of shock. I never expected to fight her so soon.
"Are you ready to fight her Ash?" Brock asked.
"Yeah. Defeating her shouldn't be a problem. The only main problem is if I fight her, I think she may recognize me."
"What makes you say that?" Bonnie wondered.
"You guys noticed how Latias got defensive of me whenever they wanted me to release her? Well Misty knows that Latias likes that human form."
"So? That shouldn't mean much. After all, she has been with Latias before." Cilan stated.
"Well, Latias is real defensive of me. She always has been. Misty knows this as well, and I just happen to have a Pikachu. If she puts two and two together, she will figure out who I am." I explained.
Lillie walked up to me. "Don't worry Ash. Even if they figure out who you are, we won't let them harm you. They can't beat us." She gives me a hug.
I embrace her. "Thanks everyone. I don't plan to lose now."
Lillie let go. "Let's not forget that we are in this tournament as well. We won't lose to you without giving you a run for your money." She said smiling.
I laughed. "Alright, let's get ready for our matches."
Traitors POV
Misty was still in deep thought about Red and Latias.
"Hey Misty?" Iris waved her hand in front of the redhead.
She shook her head. "Huh? What is it?"
Iris sighed. "We were just talking about what you will do against Red."
"Oh right. Sorry."
May continued. "Anyway, do you know who you're using?"
"Yeah. I plan on using my Starmie and Gyarados. If I have to, I will bust out my last resort."
Everyone smiled. "Alright Misty," Serena stood up. "Go destroy that wannabe champion."
Ash POV
After waiting in the Ice arena for what felt like forever, Misty finally appeared through the doorway.
"So you finally appeared. It took you long enough." I stated.
She shrugged. "Well, I could be taken longer, but I wanted to destroy you and get this over with."
I chuckled. "Only wishful thinking. You won't be getting past me."
The ref got into position. "This will be a 2v2 battle with Misty and Red. You know the rules. Battle begin!"
"Starmie, let's go!" She sent out her first Pokemon. This should be a walk in the park.
"Go Sceptile!" I sent out my trusty gecko into battle.
"Starmie, use Ice Beam."
"Sceptile, deflect it with Leaf Blade."
Starmie sent out a straight line of ice towards Sceptile. Whenever it got close however, Sceptile deflected it away from him.
"Use Hydro Pump."
"Dodge it and get in close."
Sceptile easily avoided the Hydro Pump and got very close to Starmie.
"Alright, now use Leaf Blade. Full strength!" I commanded.
Sceptile swung an overhead Leaf Blade straight down onto Starmie, knocking the Pokemon out instantly.
"Starmie is unable to battle. The winner is Sceptile. Misty, send out your final Pokemon."
She was starting to look scared. I was starting to feel better. I am finally proving them all wrong. They can't deny my strength for much longer.
"Alright. Go, Gyarados!" The water snake appeared onto the field with a loud roar.
"You good Sceptile?" The gecko looked back and gave me a thumbs up.
"Alright then, use Dragon Pulse."
"Counter with Ice Beam!"
The two attacks clash with a heavy explosion. Smoke covered the battlefield.
"Sceptile, try to sense them. Once you find them, launch a Hidden Power straight towards them." He nodded.
After listening around, he began to notice a noise nearby.
He opened his eyes. "Now go!" I yelled.
He launched it in the direction he could sense Gyarados in. We heard a scream as the smoke started disappearing. Gyarados had visible injuries on it, which indicated a direct hit.
"Don't think we are completely done Red." She suddenly showed off her Key Stone on her wristband.
She hit the Key Stone. "Now Gyarados, let's go. Mega Evolve!"
In a flash of blinding light, Gyarados mega evolved into Mega Gyarados.
"Alright. But you are forgetting one thing." I hit my Key Stone. "Now Sceptile, Respond to my aura. Mega Evolve!"
In another flash of light, my Sceptile Mega Evolved as well.
"Now Sceptile, use Leaf Storm!"
"Gyarados, use Ice Fang!"
Gyarados got hit by Leaf Storm, but managed to shrug it off. He went straight at Sceptile.
"Dodge quick."
Sceptile got away just in time. He landed behind Gyarados, while Gyarados was still looking for it.
"Gyarados, behind you!"
Too little, too late. "Now Sceptile. Finish this. Use Focus Blast!"
Sceptile rushed in, and slung the powerful attack close range onto Gyarados's back. When the smoke ended, Gyarados reverted back, and had swirls in its eyes.
"Gyarados is unable to battle. Sceptile wins. The winner of the match is Red of Alola!"
The crowd erupted in excitement. They clearly enjoyed the battle. I returned Sceptile, and began to walk out.
"Wait a second." Misty ran up to me.
"What do you want?" I asked coldly.
"I want to know if it's truly you. That Pikachu looks familiar, and I know Latias wouldn't be so defensive if it wasn't you. I know that human form also, so don't try to play it off."
I was shocked. Why is she able to come to that conclusion so soon? Maybe I should've hid Pikachu better.
"What does it matter to you anyways? Even if you were right, what would you even do? Ash isn't just coming back to you." I said in a very heartless tone.
She tried to get closer. "Ash, just wait..."
I snapped. "Shut up. Nothing you can say will make me forgive you guys. You screwed up long ago, and I am done with you guys."
I walked away in a hurry to get away from her. I refuse to listen to nonsense from the people who nearly murdered me.
Time Skip: 10 minutes later...
I walked out of the locker room to see my friends waiting for me by the door.
Brock spoke first. "Good job Ash."
Cilan spoke also. "That battle was very exquisite. Great win."
I sighed. "Thanks guys."
Latias must have noticed my mood, because she suddenly walked up and gave me a hug. I hugged back in response.
We broke after a couple seconds. "Well looks like I can't get anything past you then."
Lillie took notice of my response. "Let me guess. She found out, didn't she?"
I nodded in response. At that moment she covered me in a hug also.
"We won't let them do anything to you. You will be fine. Now let's go get some lunch." She said to calm me down. It worked.
As we began to talk on the way to lunch, I found out that they all won their battles once again. As we were talking, we saw the people none of us wanted to see...
Traitors POV: A few moments earlier...
"So the Alolan Champion is Ash? That doesn't make sense. He shouldn't be this strong." Drew said.
"Yeah. That little weakling shouldn't have that much power. He has to be cheating." May agreed.
"Well regardless, let's go see if we can befriend him so he can give us some of the power he has. It shouldn't be that hard." Barry claimed.
Serena stepped up also. "Yeah. He is probably dying to become our friend again. I can pull him away from that lame chick finally."
Misty spoke up. "You guys are forgetting a few things about what I just said."
Paul looked at her. "Like what?"
"He said he wants nothing to do with us now. If we attempt to become his friend again, he will refuse, and if we attempt to harm his friends, he will attack us."
Max turned his head. "Pfft. That's just him lying to himself. This should be easy to convince him."
"If it doesn't work now, Delia and Professor Oak will be here in a bit. They could talk sense into him if we can't." Dawn exclaimed.
"Whatever. You guys will just make it worse. I refuse to help with this hopeless attempt at becoming stronger." Misty stormed off.
"Just leave her. Here they come anyways." Drew said as the Alolan trainers walk into the Pokemon Center.
Nobody POV
"Didn't I tell you guys to leave us alone already?" Ash sneered as the Traitors walked to them.
"Ash? Don't you recognize your own friends?" Dawn stated in a fake welcoming tone.
"You guys lost that right a long time ago." Ash stated as Pikachu began to spark. Latias was also beginning to get defensive.
Serena tried to talk in a loving tone. "Oh come on Ash. We were being controlled. Don't you want us back?" She tried to walk a step closer.
Bonnie got in front of Ash. "One more step and you are out of here." Her eyes began to glow blue.
Serena took a step back. Then Clemont spoke up in a sincere tone. "Oh come on Bonnie. I'm your brother. You wouldn't just-"
"Shut up. You are not my brother Clemont." She said coldly.
Iris started speaking also. "Guys, just listen to-"
"Stop lying already. You guys are not getting anything out of us." Cilan said.
"We aren't lying." Drew said.
"You guys still hated me before Misty told you guys it was me. Now you guys want power from us that you will not get. Now leave." Ash said angrily.
"But Ash-" Serena said taking another step forward.
Latias snapped. "LEAVE HIM ALONE!"
The traitors backed away in a hurry, then turned and ran.
All of us were suddenly shocked. Since when has Latias been able to speak out like that...
Latias was also shocked. "W-what just happened? I'm talking?"
Brock spoke first. "Maybe she finally developed Telepathy."
Latias responded. "Really? That means I can finally talk to all of you!"
Ash was still shocked some. "How could she develop Telepathy on the spot like that though?"
Brock answered. "Simple. She had such strong emotions, that she was able to talk herself. It can happen from time to time depending on the Pokemon."
"Wow. This is awesome." Bonnie exclaimed.
"Yeah. I think this will be great." Ash agreed.
After going crazy over Latias's newfound Telepathy, we began to eat our lunch. Around the time they finished, someone caught Ash's eye. He never thought he would see her in his life again.
'Why is she here. Why now?" Ash thought.
"Hi honey!" Said Delia...
Cliffhanger lmao. I managed to fit in several things into this chapter. I hope you enjoyed this chapter. Comment Question: Which Pokemon would you want to be able to understand? I would want to understand Latios personally, but that's just me. Hope you all enjoy your day!
