Y/n's POV

I run faster than I have ever run before. Only one thing was on my mind: saving Lloyd. I could only save him with the help of his friends and that's who I was going to get.

Tears stream down my face as I fear that the worst has happened to him. I shake my head and take a deep breath in, attempting to rid myself of the horrible thoughts and tears. The attempt is hopeless however, as memories of the times we spent together replay in my mind.

"Ahh" I scream and jolt as a terrifying and hideous figure appears on the screen.

I immediately turn my head away, however the pure look of shock on my face soon turns to a look of anger as I hear the chuckles from my boyfriend, who apparently finds my state of fright amusing.

"Shut up Lloyd" I shout, elbowing him in the side of his stomach.

"I'm sorry y/n," he says, taking a pause to wipe away the tears of laughter away from his eyes, before carrying on "but how can you be so scared of that? It's not real you know?"

"Yes I know! It's just those jump scares, they get me every time, even when I know they're coming." I say but Lloyd is still laughing next to me like a hyena, "Well I'm glad you find it funny!" I say sarcastically, then fold my arms over one another to emphasize my irritation.

"Okay, okay, okay, I'm sorry, again. The jump scares, they get me too." He admits, "So you have a fear of things coming out of nowhere and scaring you?" He asks.

"Well yeah, but it's not my biggest fear" I say, turning my body around so that I'm now facing Lloyd.

"Well... then what is?" He asks in an intrigued manner.

"I don't think so mister, you tell me yours first, then I might tell you mine" I say putting an emphasis on the might.

He stands up and walks to the far corner of the room without a word. I give him a puzzled look hoping that he sees it, however he doesn't turn around but instead looks out the window and into the distance as if he's thinking. The silence in the room that he causes feels unbearable and unusual, so when he finally speaks up I breathe a sigh of relief.

"I don't really know" he says shrugging, then turns around to give me a smile however, it was written all over his face that he felt uncomfortable with what I asked.

"Are you okay? I mean you don't seem right. You shut up like a clam when I asked you that question and it wasn't a serious question or anything." I say while standing up to walk towards him. I gently place my hand on his shoulder and he turned to look me straight in my eyes. His face softened when he saw me but his eyes still showed me how he really felt. Pain, despair and anger; that's what I saw in his eyes till they were replaced with another emotion, love. "Lloyd" I said quietly, the name barely audible when I spoke it. Just the mention of his own name caused those emotions to come flooding back. He pushed my hand away from his shoulder and walked back to the couch.

"If you must know," he began in a strangely calm tone, "my biggest fear is my past coming back to haunt me." he says, causing that deafening silence to occur again after those words left his mouth.

"What?" I say in a quiet whisper, which I didn't think he heard until he turned to look at me with a worried expression.

"It was a joke." he quickly says "Yeah... just a joke, no need to be worried. I don't have some evil past that could come back to hurt me" he say laughing, but like that smile he gave me before, it wasn't genuine. Instead of covering his true emotions with a laugh, which was his intentions, it instead made them more apparent.

"If you say so," I say putting on a smile. He smiles back. I watch him turn away again then I look down when I'm sure that he's not looking. I furrow my eyebrows trying to understand what happened. He turns back around, startling me.

"You believe me don't you?" He asks softly.

"Yes, of course" I lie, avoiding eye contact with him.

"Okay... good" He says putting an arm around me and directing his attention back to the TV.

My feet come to a halt as I process the memory that just played in my mind.

Why that memory?

Still, to this day, I don't understand why he was acting so suspicious. Sometimes I feel as if I know him better than I know myself, so I know when he's lying to me or when he's hiding something from me. How he acted, what he said, was a bowl full of lies and secrets.

I focus my mind back onto what's important and start running again. I look up and see the Bounty clearer and clearer the closer I get to it. When it's above me, I shout up to the ship in that hopes the ninja will hear me.

"Y/N" I hear a familiar voice call my name, "what are you doing here?" Kai shouts down to me. Without hesitation or further questioning he lets the anchor down so I'm able to clamber onto it and be lifted onto the Bounty. As soon as the anchor reaches the bounty, I jump off of it and run into Kai's arms.

"Hey, what's up with you?" he says rubbing my back, "and no offence but don't get too close to me because Lloyd will gladly beat me up" he says with a nervous chuckle.

"I can guarantee you that he will not hurt you, well not now anyway" I say, diverting my gaze to the ground.

"Why?" he asks puzzled, "oh no, wait, let me guess" he says excitedly as if this was some sort of guessing game he was about to play.

"Are you serious?" I say, fed up with his lack of focus.

"Yes, I am. Now, I'm guessing you broke up with Lloyd again..."

"Kai"

"So now you're in the process of avoiding him..."

"Kai"

"And now you've come to me to get back at him and make him jealous..."

"Kai!"

"And then that's what you mean by he won't hurt me now because he'll do it later, after he's found out that we... you know" he says while lightly nudging me with his elbow.

"KAI!!!" I shout at him while slapping his arm.

"What?! I was right wasn't I?"

"Not even close, flame brain. Lloyd's gone." I say quietly.

"Wait, he's dead" he says shocked.

"No you idiot, he's missing, he was kidnapped!" I say and without another word he leads me into the bounty and demands an explanation for him and the rest of the ninja. Every once in a while, a look of horror came across their faces when I told them what happened.

"That's it! No one takes Lloyd away and leaves my friend in a depressed state like this! They are a dead person when we find them!" Kai shouts with the look of rage in his eyes as his hands ball into fists and a flame ignites in them. He snaps out of his anger when a dark, growl like voice fills the room. The hairs on the back of our necks stand on edge, our skins crawl as we look around, searching for that slight relief we can find in knowing that we are all as equally terrified as each other.

"Be care full what you say hothead." the unsettling voice says.

"Where the hell is that coming from?" Kai shouts.

"Remember ninja, and of course dear y/n, you never know who's listening." the voice says, sending another wave of shivers down my spine.

"It's coming from the speakers!" Cole screams, desperately trying to be heard over the voice.

"Give up now ninja!" the voice booms through the speakers, "Or, you'll all end up like Lloyd." he says bringing the tone of his voice down to an uncomfortable whisper.

"As Lloyd always says" Kai says while standing in a confident looking pose, "ninja never quit!" he shouts with determination, "Now everyone, search the Bounty for this creep."

With those instructions they all leave the room, going their separate ways. I go to follow them when I hear my voice being called. Lloyd?

"That's right? You miss your dear boyfriend don't you y/n?" the voice says mockingly, "just listen to him saying your name. He's pleading for your help."

"Shut up!" I shout, bringing my hands to my ears to avoid the torture.

"You wanna see him again, don't you?" I nod in response, " Well then, do what I..."

"Never!" I shout back, interrupting him.

"Oh sweet y/n, you just don't understand. I already have you wrapped around my finger!"
