Success or Failure

You were support for a few missions with your family, basically acting as a shadow but they had finally decided to loosen the reigns by sending you out on a solo mission. It was decided to be your induction as an official Tenshi, one that was able to take missions and be known by the few who acknowledged the existence and use of mercenaries.

It was an infiltration mission to take down a leader of an underground children trafficking ring. Your job was to take him and any of his subordinates who would get in the way, out. You were going to be around others your age for the first time but it didn't matter, you weren't allowed to care for them in the slightest, they were distractions and hindrances and nothing more than burdens from what you were told. You were to do your job and be done with it, nothing more nothing less. Anything else would result in a mission failure and possible death. You didn't want to waste your future in your family for the lives of useless, weak children so you weren't even going to give them a second glance. As long as you succeeded, nothing else mattered.

You were flown to the drop off point by your father, the feeling of the wind against your skin and through your feathers kept your mind calm and at peace. Your fathers presence was in your system, warm and calming as always, you thought it was helping you keep the unneeded feelings away. The bubbling feeling in your borderline numb body was excitement, it felt odd and slightly displaced but it was there, you thought you were just excited to complete your mission.

"Succeed, do not fail the Tenshi pride." It was the only thing he said to you before he left, leaving you with nothing but the desire to succeed.

"Yes papa." You took your short trek into the city, a lidded gaze taking in the area. It was humid and had more dirt than the rocky mountain of your home. You were in a high crime area between the border of Mexico and the United States, perfect for getting away with any sort of illegal activity. It was so heavily populated that it was easy to go unnoticed. The amount of people around you was overwhelming to a point, it was loud and crammed

You were dressed in what could only be considered rags, dirty and cheap to help your infiltration. You really looked no better than a homeless orphan to anyone who saw you finding your way through the streets. One block was less active than the rest, it was quiet and those who looked like they were trying to get through the area kept their heads down and walked quickly. There were people parading around their quirks and groups in uniform and by the way people avoided them and sent them fearful glances they were more than just some wannabe criminals.

You moved in closer, just enough to get a look at the uniform the gang members were wearing. Each person was clad in a black leather jacket with a large silver skull laying on a bed of red roses going across the back. They were all carrying firearms and some had obvious mutation quirks that they wanted to use to make themselves seem all the more intimidating and deadly.

You weren't scared, they had the numbers but you were sure they wouldn't suspect you for anything as of yet so with a deep breath, you walked over to the group of criminals and tugged on the hem of one guys shirt.

He whipped around, gun at the ready to defend himself from whatever lowlife was trying to start something only to stop when there was nobody there. He let his eyes trail down slowly until he was looking at you. He pointed the gun in your face wanting to scare you off, he was not a child person and didn't need a little shit hanging around him. When you didn't flinch, he took another look and grinned, seeing your big blank lilac eyes, puffy cheeks, and shabby clothing he felt like he'd hit the jackpot. He thought you were probably too stupid to even know how he could kill you, that had to be the reason you looked so unafraid.

"What the hell do you want little girl?" His gruff voice called out loud enough to alert his companions and they all turned to face you, matching greedy smirks plastered on. You blinked slowly at the attention of so many people before looking down, chubby cheeks flushing as your stomach rumbled. They really were too easy, completely unsuspecting of anything. To them you were looking up to be a perfect addition to the boss, another one to be sold for big bucks.

"Do you have any f-food? I'm really hungry and mommy and daddy never came back for me like they promised." One man caught your attention and he was the one you kept eye contact with. He had dark golden hair and a large black scorpion tail that curved up and over his back, poised and ready to strike you at a moments notice. Child or not, he wasn't going to let his guard down like the rest of his idiotic partners. His height and stature was large, intimidating.

"She's cute and with those big eyes, angel wings, and slightly exotic look boss'll be happy with her. She'll make us lots of money." They all nodded in agreement, the scorpion man was in agreement, you would make them money and he needed to get you to come with them. The man put the strap of his gun around his boy and let it hang, extending his hand for you to grab. He would rather get you to come willing, using force was never fun and always left a pit of guilt sitting in his stomach. He didn't want to say luring you into a sense of safety was any better but his conscious would take what it could get.

His stubbly face put on a smile, it wasn't kind but it wasn't leering or arrogant like those around him. You put your hand in his, the large size of his enveloped yours completely, warming your usually chilled skin. He didn't say a word as he started dragging you along; what need did he have to talk to a brat who was going to be gone in a few hours either way. You totted behind him, only to try and pull to a spot when the sweetest of scents wafted out a building and invaded your senses. It was the sweetest thing you'd ever smelled, you didn't even know a smell could be sweet like that. The smallest desire to know what it was vexed you.

The scorpion could feel you try to pull to a stop and the way your dull eyes brightened at the scent of the diner. He'd never seen a child look so confused at a smell before, the look you had on made him laugh slightly. If that was what happened from a smell, he was going to take the time to gain some amusement by watching you actually taste the damn food. He inclined his head to the door of a diner and you followed him inside, the scent only getting stronger.

The hostess took one look at the both of you and all color drained from her face, she knew you weren't his and she wanted to do something but she couldn't. She was too weak, too afraid. Her heart broke for you and you didn't even know it. At the table nearest the door she kicked out the people sitting there and they took one look at why and instantly scurried away. Within a minute the table was cleaned and set to sit at. She ushered you into your seats and handed you a laminated paper. You stared at it in confusion wondering what all of these foods even were, the pictures depicted different foods but you had never seen many of them. The yellow haired man across from you took one look at your confused face and how hard you were thinking by the way your tongue poked out of your mouth in concentration. He assumed you didn't know how to read and let out another chuckle.

"Need help?" You glared at him, struggling for something so basic was a failure and if your parents knew, you'd be taking a punishment. Your stomach let out another growl and Scorpion man took the menu from your hands, completely disregarding the anger you were emitting to order two servings of "pancakes" and eggs from the sweating and shaking waiter. "Aaron." A gruff voice spoke out and your head shot up to look at him. He didn't know why the hell he was doing this, you'd be gone soon anyways, but he kept talking to make you focus on something that would get rid of that dull look in your eyes. "My name is Aaron, since I'm feeding you I thought you should know. What's yours?" You indulged his question. In a few days it wont matter what his name is, he'll either be dead or useless.

"[Name] Tenshi." He noticed the intense gaze you had on his tail and instead of taking it for the analysis it was, he thought you were awes by it. He began to move it around as to entertain you, kids were easier when occupied, they cried less that way. He dealt with children often, being a member of an underground trafficking ring children were everywhere, talking down to them, occupying them came with the job and he was doing the same with you. The tail shined, it was black and had golden joints, it looked hard and was probably difficult to break. Someone smart would cover it if it was weak, it had to be used for combat so and you decided that since it was unprotected by any outside objects, it had to be hard as a rock.

"Tenshi, that Japanese?" you were never asked questions about yourself, it was weird and slightly disorienting.

"Yes my dad is Japanese an' my mom is 'merican... I think." You stopped talking when a plate was set in front of you. On it there was a stack of large golden brown discs and they smelled like the most pleasant and sweet things you were ever given. Food made solely for pleasure, something you had never had but if this is what weak people got, at least they did something useful with their lives. You put your face over the steam coming off the fluffy discs and inhaled again, it was warm and felt nice, like a caress of a sweet cloud. You poked it, it was soft and bounced back from your touch. You were practically drooling, you wanted to eat it so bad.

Aaron watched you assess your food with amusement, it was clear you'd never had it before. He wondered what kind of life a kid had to have to not know what a pancake was. You grabbed one with your fork, ready to bite off a chunk when he pulled the plate away, cutting it into pieces for you to eat. He did not want to deal with an overly messy child on top of everything else. You watched wide eyed as he poured a dark brown glaze over the golden pieces, it smelled even sweeter.

The first bite, he snickered at the look on your face. Your eyes were closed and your face was finally lax instead of stone. The sticky syrup you got on your face, your tongue darted out to get it off, wiggling around until it was mostly gone. He was slightly impressed with how fast you scarfed the food down, it was gone in an instant, only the slightest traces left on your cheek and lips. He handed you the napkin and you scrubbed the rest of the sticky sweetness off.

"I've never seen a little girl eat food that fast in my life." He shook his head and followed the direction of your eyes to his plate, the plate that was still half full. He cut the remaining pancakes in half and scooted them onto your plate. He was...nice. "You look like you need it more than I do..." His voice trailed off "Not like you're going to get another meal like this anytime soon." You wondered if food like this was really why everyone liked taking missions so much.

He didn't have to pay for any of the food because everyone was so frightened of Aaron, or at least the gang he belonged to. Your heart was beating rapidly in anticipation and your body was buzzing with an energy boost from the sugary food. You felt odd, maybe it was the sugar of the place but things were weird. You were walking with Aaron before you stumbled, mind going hazy. It was a definite symptom of benzadiaepines or a drug with similar properties, he drugged you but you weren't sure when. That was something you had to work on next time, getting caught off guard was a rookie mistake.

Aaron felt you stumble and he stopped walking. Pretending to be waiting for you to gather yourself together. He watched as you scrubbed at an eye cutely, swaying while tried to keep your eyes open before finally collapsing into his awaiting arms, succumbing to the drug.

You dd your best to keep your limbs limp as you hung in his grip, you couldn't move so Aaron would continue to be oblivious to your still awake state. Though your brain was a bit fuzzy, you were still heavily focused on trying to feel the twists and turns of where he was going. It would be useful to have a relative idea of how to get out of the hellhole when you finished taking it down.

You almost flinched, barely tensing as a hand came to trace your face, when they didn't say anything you guess they didn't notice. Another set of hands ran their fingers over the outline of your wings before tracing heavily around a few feathers. They were sensitive and it took a lot of self control to not stab whoever was doing it. Both newcomers were grinning at your limp form, you were a good catch with a nice quirk to show off.

"Scorpion you brought us a good one today. This little girl will go with the specials to get groomed by the boss, her exotic beauty and wings will be one of the top sellers in the auction. Hell, give her a few years and I'd buy her myself." He spoke salaciously, chuckling at the joke as if it was the funniest thing. He sure thought he was hilarious. Aaron was many things but a child predator was not one, it disgusted him and if he had any other option, this job would not be one he took part in. He jabbed his stinger into the man's hand, forcing it to move from touching your face. He was surrounded by creeps. "What the fuck Scorpion?"

"Hands off the bosses prized merchandise. We don't want her tainted with your disgusting hands." Aaron's gravelly voice was cold and deadly, an opposite to the way he was talking to you earlier. His subordinate couldn't even talk back, Aaron was a higher ranking member so he was in charge. Without so much as a glance back at the whining man he pierced, Aaron walked with you until he reached the room for 'specials'. He carefully placed you against a wall and then took his leave, he needed to get out of the stuffy cave filled with children.

When you were sure he was gone, you let your eyes flutter open, taking a minute to let them adjust to the darker room. The walls and ceilings were all made of jagged stone and the light fixtures in the ceiling were a dull yellow and flickered every few seconds. There were no windows and only one metal door carved into the rock to the your right.

There were around 40 kids ranging from around 3 to 11 sitting in the room with you, each of them was staring all sad that another one was brought in. You noticed how they were all dressed in ripped and ill fitting clothing much like yours, but what stood out most was everyone here had some kind of exotic looking quirk. One that altered their appearance in some way from skin color to having horns. They were cowering, not at you but because they were afraid...your grandfather has to be right, children were nothing but pathetic, there was no other reason they would look afraid.

One girl noticed how you didn't look even slightly afraid. You were the first one she had seen thrown in here that wasn't crying or terrified and it was interesting, you seemed brave. She wanted to get a closer look, maybe you were scared and just didn't want to show it until you had someone to help you. She stood up and brushed off some dirt from her skirt, not that it made a difference, and made her way over to you. A little boy followed, holding on to the hem of her cloths.

Her hair was lilac and bright even in the dark room, her face was slightly narrow from lack of food but she was still noticeably pretty. Her eyes were a deep, rich gold and instead of a pupil they were slitted like an animal. On the top of her head she had pointed wolf ears and a matching black and white tail sprouting out of where a tailbone normally is. The little boy looked much the same. The closer she got the more confused you were. She was shaking like a leaf and yet she gave you the brightest smile you had ever seen. You didn't know a smile could even look like that.

Why is she smiling at me like that?

She wasn't much older than you but she was taller by a solid 7 centimeters, when you gazed up at her height she took it as you being afraid of her larger size so she crouched down to be face to face with you. She wanted to be your friend, you were alone like the rest and she thought you might need a friend in the scary times.

"You-you're not crying?" She stared in pure confusion, you really were brave if you weren't crying. Your head cocked slightly, your eyes narrowing a bit as you were already being bugged by the people you had no reason to be around. THey were wimps and her thinking you'd act like them was as baffling as her smile.

"No. Why would I be crying?" You didn't know what to say to someone your own age, someone who was so blatantly showing the very things you were trained to erase. Maybe if you were harsh she'd leave but instead, the girl let out a slight giggle and the little boy's tail started wagging.

"Normally people are scared when they come here because the bad men are going to take us and sell us but you're so brave. You don't look scared at all! My name is Kiyomi, this is my little brother Kuro." Her soft voice got louder as she talked and the glossy tears in her eyes vanished. You were extremely baffled.

"I've never been afraid and I have no reason to start now. I'm going to kill everyone in here and get out. If you'd all stop crying like babies then you can find your way out too." Her eyes were large and shining as she looked at you, more and more of the kids perked up at your words. Her hand came out to press against your mouth but stopped when you slapped it away.

"Shhh, they'll hear you. Are you crazy, you can't kill everyone here! You're just going to get yourself killed." You looked at her and blinked slowly, wondering if kids were always this annoying and paranoid. If so, you understood why you were isolated.

"My whole point of being here is to kill the boss. Just keep your mouth shut and don't ruin my cover." She gasped and put her hand over her mouth at your blunt words. You had no issues with them knowing who you were, not like you'd ever see them again.

"You're so young! You're even younger than me. Are you really going to kill him and save us?"

"No, I'm going to kill him you will have to save yourselves." Her body deflated slightly but then her smile was back on her face. She thought you were just trying to pretend like you didn't care. You were nice but pretending to not be.

"You will still be saving us whether you like it or not." You rolled your eyes and slumped against the wall waiting for whenever you were supposed to be groomed by the boss. They said everyone in this room was being groomed so you'd just have to wait for a bit. "Anyways, you know my name but I don't know yours!"

"[Name] Tenshi." Her honey eyes shined brighter than before, she was so happy just for your name and you felt awkward again. Talking about more than training and techniques was weird.

"Oh my gosh you're must be part Japanese too! My parents are from Hosu City, Japan but moved to America before I was born. What about you tell me about your parents." She was practically squealing.

"They kill people." She blinked in shock then giggled again. You decided she was insane. Your lack of social practice was a thing, but you thought that was normal so someone being so...eccentric was making you want to bash your head into the wall...or maybe bash hers.

"You're funny! I like you, we're friends now." You gaped like a fish and wanted to punish yourself for how warm such a useless statement made you feel. You never had friends being isolated all the time, you were told they were useless and you didn't need them so why did her—a weak and useless nobody— saying that make you feel so...odd. AS a Tenshi you weren't to have friends like this, you knew it was something prohibited and would need punishment but as long as nobody found out...it would be fine right. Besides, you'd never see her after you succeed so it's fine, you could just use it as practice for learning more about the world.

Kyomi sat and talked for what felt like forever, you didn't know somebody could talk so much but she did...and you listened. She told her life story and how her parent were up and coming pro-heroes but after a villain attack they were orphaned and then taken here. Kyomi somehow sensed your social differences and how you had never really talked to others, you didn't even know what some things were so she took it upon herself to give you the best rundown of things she could like what school is like or how going ice skating in the winter is the most fun. When she was talking, you missed Kuro, her little brother, move until he was already pressing into your back, small hands holding lighting onto your wings.

You tensed and barely managed to stop from jabbing him in the throat. He was rubbing his face into your wings, the soft feathers felt nice on his baby skin, like a plushy. You used a wing to shove him back to his sister but he just tottered back to your side, this time plopping right into your lap and giggling. Each time you moved him, he'd come back and laugh like it was some kind of game, his sharp canines flashing with each goofy smile. Son enough, you just let him be and he snuggled to nap in your lap, feeling safe even when you tired to be scary and move him away.

Hours into the night when only you and some of the older ones were awake, the door slammed open and a man dressed the same as Aaron thundered in, shooting a bullet into the air yelling at you all to 'get the fuck up'. He sneered at the whines and scared cries that kids let out and when he found the one that annoyed him the most, he grabbed her arm and dragged her out to meet the leader. Every few minutes he would come back and only sometimes he had the person he left with. They were always cleaned up and dressed in plain white dresses or pants.

Kyomi sat with you, sitting tall and holding your hand like she was trying to be comforting, she decided since she was the oldest she had to protect you and be brave, even if she was trembling in fear. Kuro had his pudgy toddler arms wrapped around your waist, his face buried into your chest as he sniffled, not letting the tears fall. When he was finally chosen, you ordered him to not cry so he wouldn't be weak like everyone else and he listened. He didn't even whimper as he was dragged out. He returned a few minutes later looking clean but startled.

Finally, the man taking the children grabbed you by your hair and started pulling you along, sneering profanities under his breath. Your adrenaline was coursing and you prepared to finish your mission, you were going to make the Tenshi proud.

You shoved through a large golden door and sitting in a throne like chair was a tall and lanky man wearing a fur lined coat and slicked back black hair. His quirk was emanating such power you could feel it through your bones, it was nauseating. His dark eyes looked over your small frame and he couldn't stop the leer from showing. He liked pretty youth and money; you were yet another to meet his needs.

This man was dangerous, you could feel it. He was given the name Hades for his apparent connection with the underworld, something about his quirk. You were given a brief rundown by your grandmother but she failed to clarify what that really meant, if you were any less prepared you felt as though you would have died here. Maybe she did it on purpose, understate his power that is. It was just her way of pushing you to be better, you were sure she was pushing you to be better.

Surrounding him there was a deep abyss overflowing an eerie green and there were the wails of tormented souls echoing from within. There were green manifestations of sickly looking people who were all wailing but did as 'Hades' commanded. He has not only a connection with the underworld but is able to use the souls of the dammed to do his bidding for him. You guessed whoever he pissed off, his quirk was the reason. His black eyes were staring at you, looking you up and down appreciatively as you were nudged closer and closer by his soul manifestations.

"Ahh yes you are such a beautiful child. Truly an angel sent from the gods below to bring me the wealth I desire. You will be the grand prize tonight, come child and I will dress you exquisitely to gain favor among those ravenous fools." He ran his tongue across his thin lips, his body completely lax as you came closer. The guard no longer had his weapon drawn, you were no threat. You decided now was the best time to act

With a harsh flap of your wings, you shot upwards and back, slamming into the guard behind you. Being unprepared for any sort of reaction, he stumbled slightly and you used the momentum to wrap your legs around his neck, throwing your weight forward and twisting enough to feel the snap of his spine. His body went limp, collapsing beneath you as you jumped up to finish the job. 'Hades' clapped, smirking eerily as the room became dense with death, green smoke filling the floor as more and more souls were brought to do his bidding.

"So this is how it's going to go. Such a beautiful and deadly little girl. I can play along in your little game but if I win... you become my personal servant." His soul-soldiers were barely human looking, their faces were indistinguishable and phased in and out of a mist gliding over the ground more so than walking. They were slower than most people but it was hard to tell the direction they were going to move.

"When I win you die." The souls surrounded you, their voices whispers of pain and anger. 'Hades' laughed, not even standing up from his chair, dismissing you as nothing. You grabbed the gun the guard had carried and fired every round into the creatures. It was useless for with every shot they would turn to mist before reforming. If you cant him them, they shouldn't be able to hit you so with that idea in mind, you ran straight into the fray, aiming for their summoner.

When you were in range of a creatures attack, he swung down, the axe he was wielding turning to smoke as it hit you. Your smirk fell when your shoulder erupted into pain, right were the axe hit left a jagged, bloodied gash.

You bit down on your lower lip to silence the pained cry from coming out. With a powerful flap of your wings, you were back into the air, hovering right below the stone ceiling. You had to avoid the creatures, you couldn't hit them but they you and the only way to stop them would be to destroy their controller. The one who was sitting with his left leg crossed over the right, watching your battle with a smug gleam. He wanted you to be afraid but you weren't...for you anything he would do to you would be child's play to what would happen if you went home a failure.

When you didn't waver, he decided it was time for a contingency plan. You wouldn't be so tough when there were other lives on the line.

With a snap of his fingers, the door burst open and the children from the room all came tumbling in bruised and crying. They were helpless, some tried to run but were slaughtered before they could get anywhere. You wanted to look away, to ignore them all. They were too weak and it was their fault for dying, you weren't going to care. Even if they all died, killing Hades was your only goal.

"How cruel, not even sparing a glance to save helpless children." He was teasing, pushing you to anger but you were calm, numb.

"You can do it [Name]! I believe in you!" Your head shot to look at Kyomi, she was cheering you on, nobody ever encouraged you positively, it stung. Blood dripped from her temple and she was held at gunpoint but she was still giving you that damn smile, the same one that she wore when deciding you were friends. Kuro was besides her, not crying, he was being strong because you asked. anger was not beginning to churn in your body.

They are weak, they should have been stronger. I shouldn't care...so dammit, why do I care!

Anger was not beginning to churn in your body, no, you weren't going to care just because she said that. You were a Tenshi dammit, you weren't here to save them.

"You can do it!" She repeated, her golden eyes dead serious as she gazed up at you like you were some kind of hero. It was different then the cold looks from your family. Kyomi wasn't testing you, she just believed in you. The guard slapped her to silence her but she still smiled for you. The anger began to swirl, this man was weak, he hid behind his powers and used others to seem strong, he was going to die. You had never been angry before, not really, you were always trained to calm before it could do anything, but now, your anger was hot and overwhelming. They counted on you, they knew you could complete your mission and become a real Tenshi. You were going do it.

The heat of your fury began to change, it flowed out of you and took form. You could feel it leaving, feel it take form and brighten up the room with your light. It pixelated, morphed into ragged and deadly needles. You were hit with something but you didn't even care, your body was chilling from your light but it wasn't shutting down like before. 'Hades' was entranced by the light, it was beautiful and he would just love to be the one to snuff it out. More creatures formed as I began to circle him in needles, he was ready to send them to take you out and all the other little ones with you. You stared him down coldly, your body trembling from both freezing and your anger but it didn't matter. The room glowed brighter and brighter, your constricts swirling around him like a tornado, shredding into his skin.

You wanted to end it, light changing and condensing together until a giant spike dropped through his chest, his blood not sticking to the glowing white creation. He jerked then stilled, the green mist dissipating as his quirk deactivated. You had finished your job, you could leave but Kyomi's pleading eyes stopped you. Dammit, you knew they were weak, they were crying from being held hostage, they were nothing but distractions but you wanted to help.

"Stop crying like babies and fight back. Use your quirks anything just fight back or you really are worthless nobodies." Your voice was weak but they all listened. The guards readied to take them out but with a cry of outrage, everyone fought back. Kuro used his sharp canines to bite into the hand of his captor and rip the flesh off. Kyomi followed and they all began to fight.

You were so damn cold but you still mustered the energy to land the finishing blow. You tumbled to the ground shivering but Kuro rushed over, his mouth bloody and raw but you didn't even give it a second look. He pressed his warm body against your cold one, Kyomi following. She was crying, you didn't understand why the hell she was crying but she was as she thanked you over and over for absolutely no reason. They made it easier for you to leave with them helping take out the guards and yet she thanked you. Your friend, the one who believed in you, she was the one thanking you. She was still insane.

You moved together, they followed you to the exit dropping those on the way with the discarded weapons. You turned to leave without so much as a goodbye, Kyomi was positive you didn't even know what a real goodbye was so she followed after you. You were slow from fatigue and she trapped you into another hug, Kuro shoving his way in as well. You were confused, they were annoying and weird. You succeeded and just wanted to leave.

"Get off. I'm leaving and you're not coming with." You spoke cold and tired but they were unfazed. Kyomi just smiled brightly and Kuro snuggled deeper into your body. They made you crazy, they were weird and confusing and nothing like people were supposed to act like, maybe your parents were needed to fix them as well.

"You really were an assassin! I thought you were kidding but wow I was wrong. You're so strong and you could totally be a pro-hero someday if you don't want to be an assassin anymore! You were so cool and saved all of us and helped us find the exit. My best friend is my hero!"

"You're delusional, I didn't save you I told you to fight for yourselves so I didn't have to do anything. I would have left you there, you just followed me. It wasn't part of my mission to save you so I didn't."

"I've only known you for a bit but as your best friend I know that was a lie. I saw it in your eyes, you did save us and you denying it is just your way of saying your welcome." You looked up at the older wolf girl in confusion, you swore she was an idiot. Kuro's face popped up between the two of you, his large golden eyes shining and his smile bright even with the dried blood on it.

"[name], I wove you! Yo' my hero and we gonna get married!" He kissed your cheek leaving you more confused. Married, Love you? Your head tilted in confusion as Kyomi laughed at the stupefied face.

"I don't get it." Kyomi looked at you shocked, before laughing harder, she thought you were so cute. For someone so scary and smart seeming, she thought you were stupid.

"Now I understand, you are so cute [Name]! Marriage is like what a mother and father does when they love one another." Love, you didn't think you loved Kuro. Love was useless, your grandparents said love made people weak.

"Oh ok. No Kuro." You put him on the ground and left them there and left, going to the meet up spot. Dark eyes watched your movements, a sneer on his face. You were a difficult one. Your father swooped to pick you up, listening distantly as you gave a mission report. You felt normal in his arms, good, numb, calm.

"Is that so." His tone was bland and you noticed nothing of it. This was what normal should be.
