Entrance Exams

"[NAMMEEE] WAKE UPPPP!" Hizashi's booming voice shook you to the core and you fell out of your bed in a panic at the 6:30 alarm.

"Agh Fuck!" You cursed in and he laughed as you laid sprawled out on the floor. You took a look at him and were surprised he was already dressed up in his Present Mic ensemble: his hair was spiked to the heavens and he looked like a pink rock kid who never grew out of that... 'phase'. "Good morning little Cyborg, get ready to crush it today!"

"Dammit Zashi. You're so loud." You grumbled as you got up to get ready for the day. You had to be at UA before 8 to check in to take the exams for recommended students and you were excited at the prospect of possibly getting to fight with new people and have a change up in your life. You like experiencing new things and this is going to be extremely new, a bunch of gifted teens fighting sounds like fun, you'd get to people watch and find more about what makes people tick or what their reason is for becoming a hero. Finding a reason to do anything since you earned free will has been a struggle for you, you wanted your own reason to be a hero so fighting wasn't just for short-term pleasure anymore.

Your hair was tied back into a french braid that ran down the length of your spine, little bits of your bangs falling out and around your face, the bright blue standing out against your skin and making your purple eyes seem to glow even more than usual. You were dressed in all red Jordan Retro 13's, your favorite shoes since you had come to discover that shoes were in essence the best form of clothing, a basic set of black short athletic shorts and lightweight white, red, and gold windbreaker with holes cut our for your wings to fit through. You also had a black thigh holster with your knives in it although you think Hizashi might not let you bring them to make sure you don't accidentally hurt someone too bad. The Police wouldn't find that to be good at all.

On the car ride over you lay your head against the window, looking out in awe at the tall city buildings and cool looking shops as you made your way to UA.

"Where's Sho?"

"He had to get there early to make sure everything was in order." You understood the implications of his tone. He had to be early to fill out the extra paperwork that came from watching you, even if you were family, he was still doing hero duties watching over you to keep proving you're not a threat. Once a month he's had to fill out a report on you and everything you do with him, every time he comes home from doing it he looks even more aggravated than usual.

"Oh."

"Is that a pout I hear in the brick wall that is my little Cyborg?" He took his eyes off the road to flash you a goofy grin, wiggling his eyebrows and mustache to show you he was teasing.

"No... and keep your eyes on the road, Sho may want you to die in traffic but he doesn't want me going with you." You replied in a slightly sarcastic manner, rolling your eyes. Hizashi understood your sarcasm and never took it badly, others might have taken your jokes as off putting but your mind was what it was, you were a bit sadistic but all in good fun... for the most part. Plus living with the king of brutal honesty you were bound to pick up some things.

"You're probably right." He turned the volume up on the radio full blast and kept driving singing too loudly to the music while you hummed quietly to the melody. The sight of UA was a familiar one to you but this was the first time you'd get to actually be in the school without being immediately rushed up to Prinicpal Nezu's office this time you get to look around and experience the super pretty and high tech look of one of the best High Schools in Japan.

When you walked in through the main entrance, there were around 30 students all dressed in their pristine school uniforms, you were out of place dressed so casually but honestly you couldn't have given any less fucks dressing nice made no difference in your performance and all of the faculty was forced to know who you are anyways. You weren't intimidated in the least at the attention and most people looked utterly worthless to you. Hizashi pulled you to the side and when you went into a hallway, Aizawa was waiting. You quickly were at his side and noticed immediately how much more red his eyes were than usual.

"Bye little cyborg, I've gotta go do my job. Do you best!" Hizashi pat your head and then left, but not after teasing Aizawa about his sleepy look. You found it amusing and had to hold back a small laugh.

"Bye 'Zashi."

"Ugh Damn idiot." Aizawa muttered under his breath before turning his attention back to you. Even with the stern look Aizawa was giving you, you felt a wash of comfort with him around. Your chest felt warm and you felt like all the eyes you knew would be scrutinizing you didn't matter because Aizawa would be watching over you. Seeing your guardian take such a tired breath, you reached into your bag and pulled out two juice boxes, you packed an extra just because you knew the sugar content makes Aizawa more awake and his eyes less red.

"Thanks Kid." He took the juice from your hands and drank it quickly. You took a sip and sighed contently as the sweet and light melon flavor coated your tongue and went smoothly down your throat.

"Mmm. What are my rules they set for today?" You questioned, your bright glittering eyes looking up at him in interest on what your guidelines were. There was no way they'd let an assassin have free rein during any spars or battles and you knew they'd set guidelines just like everything else in your life.

"No killing."

"No shit." You mumbled getting a slap to the back of your head.

"And no weapons either. If you end up fighting another student you can incapacitate but no real damage or injuries are permitted."

"Sounds simple enough, I was expecting more. Technically I am a weapon right?" You asked in slight confusion. Would you not be able to do anything because they consider you a weapon (without fully coming out to say it but the allusion was there).

"We've talked about this, people are not classified as inanimate objects, it's not ethical. That being said, just try not to piss off the other students too much. This is not the time to be experimenting on what to say to gage peoples reactions." You nodded in acceptance. Your lack of understanding of people hasn't fully changed even with a full 2 years of schooling under your belt. You now know that everyone is different (thanks to Kaminari and Hatsume) but now you wanted to figure out what made people tick, what things you could do to see how majority of people acted.

That helped in figuring out what you should and shouldn't say but it also managed to piss people off a lot, your confusion didn't really sit well with your classmates. You understood that they thought you were just playing with them like they were less than, when you really thought they had something above you, you slightly envied how everyone had understanding of one another, a purpose for doing things while you had lost yours.

"Ok I wont. Can I leave now?" You watched as your guardian pinched the bridge of his nose then put on his goggles. The small downturn of his lips was as present as ever.

"Yes and Ao." He placed his calloused hand on your slender shoulder and squeezed, this was his chance to have you prove everyone who doubted you wrong, to give them a big ass 'Fuck You' by winning and showing that you are so much more than an assassin, so much more than a threat. "Show them why you deserve to be here." For you thats the equivalent of being told he loves you and believes that you can succeed, your chest tightened in happiness and your cheeks took on a light shade of pink and your soft lips quirked into a small smile.

"I will." The desire to win for yourself was never something that you had felt. Since you were born all of your actions have been for or because of others but Aizawa wanted you to do something solely for yourself, he believed in you and that gave you a newfound belief in yourself. You wanted this, you wanted a reason for doing things, you wanted to succeed, and most of all you wanted to make Aizawa's belief in you come to fruition.

He was your father figure and the idea of making him proud of you, to make his life easier by removing the need for him to always be on close watch made a burning and intense desire run through your entire being. You wanted to succeed at the exams, you wanted to place first in everything you could or at least do your very best, failure be damned.

The bright passion in your eyes was something that happened few and far between, when you trained to your absolute limit was when you seemed most determined and this was the first time Aizawa had seen that look in your eyes for something other than the aspect of training. The smile on your face was small but it seemed to light up your features making you look more like his little angel than ever before.

He had no worries, when you battled against simulations at home was the only time your bloodlust seeped out, but by the determined glint in your glittering heliotrope eyes the pro-hero knew you were going to succeed and prove everyone wrong about you. He had never felt like a proud father more in his life and instead of a smile, his face frowned even more. How far he'd fallen that he actually cared so deeply about a child, a child more out of touch with their emotions than he is.

You turned around and sauntered back into the room with the rest of the students. Your head was held high and you walked with confidence, there was no ounce of fear within you. A few of the more vigilant students took notice of you, their eyes stayed on you not because of your looks (which lets face it you have a pretty face, neon blue hair, purple eyes, and big as fuck wings people are going to notice you) but because of the confidence and danger that exuded from every part of your body.

The silent swiftness of your footsteps and the way that even with such a relaxed posture, people could see how alert you were, even the slightest movement you seemed ready for battle. It was intimidating to say the least, you looked so cute but you moved like a trained killer, a predator ready for the hunt. You went to the corner and crossed your arms together, eyes looking over the people you would be competing against.

Most of these people aren't even on Kaminari's level at least physical strength wise. They have to have something else that puts them above the others.

You thought to yourself until you looked to the entrance. A boy with half snowy white and half fiery red hair walked in. His hands were shoved into his pockets and he had the most disinterested glare on his handsome face. He interested you, maybe it was the look of malice in his eyes or the old burn that coated his eye on his left side. It didn't matter, you just wanted to meet him, he didn't have that privileged ignorance that a lot of people you know do. Another person had caught your interest, he seemed to be interested in the half-and-half boy as well.

You looked over his suit-clad form and noticed immediately that he was extremely tall without a quirk that made him so. He was also very buff, his black hair was buzzed down, and had an overly large and fearless smile on his face as he moved tall 6'3'' stature and walked very tensely to the glaring boy. He opened his mouth to say hi but the half-and-half boy gave him nothing more than a side glance.

"Get out of my way." His eyes were cold, almost chillingly so and then he walked off. The tall boys shoulders slumped and his smile melted off his face instantly being replaced by a look of anger and determination. His paper wrinkled slightly in his clenched fist and his eyes never left the retreating form of the cold boy. You smirked to yourself, both of those boys were interesting to say the least, the tall boy because of his obvious reactions to things and the half-and-half because he was colder than anyone you'd seen outside of your family, his eyes held such rage and you desired to know why.

You thought that maybe knowing what made someone so enraged to be cold instead of lashing out would help further your understanding of people's reactions. And besides just being interesting, they both held themselves like they knew they were strong, and it wasn't a boasting arrogance, it was like yours. Like they knew they were the best and had no need to truly shout it out to the world, it would show in their actions.

"Ok future UA students. File into the auditorium and sit at the seat number assigned on your card. There you will be taking a standardized test to place your education levels among your future peers." The woman speaking was standing at the front of the closed auditorium doors, she had a blank look on her face and her hair was made of what looked to be thorns. She pushed open the door and you walked into the room, sitting down at seat #21. You noticed how everyone was spread out and you were not sitting next to anyone. Your hand gripped tightly around the pencil and when the bell rang you went through the test.

By the end of the test, you were aggravated and you clenched your teeth down in frustration. School just wasn't your forte.

Fuck this, I don't even understand why this stuff is necessary for me to be a hero. All heroes do is punch things.

You all were escorted outside and to a starting line. You moved to stand close to the tall boy and half-and-half when Hizashi walked out with his Present Mic attire on. You were happy to see him and the students around you seemed excited to see a known Pro-Hero. Hizashi stood in front of the seeming playground type thing and grinned.

"THE WRITTEN EXAM IS FINISHED! NEXT IS THE PRACTICAL AND LAST COMES THE INTERVIEW PORTION! FOR THE PRACTICAL WE'LL BE JUDGING SIX AT A TIME! WE'LL BE STARTING WITH THOSE WHOSE NUMBERS HAVE BEEN CALLED— NOW OFF TO THE EXAM FIELD!" His voice echoed out over the entire area and you smirked at those who cringed at the intense noise. You looked at your group and your heart was beating quicker in excitement. You were with the half-and-half #23, the tall boy #41, a boy who had teeth with no skin surrounding it #16, yourself #21, a boy with 4 arms #66, and a brunette boy who looked extremely uninteresting #12.

Hizashi gestured to the exam area with what he was hoping to be pizzaz and you smiled at the smile he pointed towards you. A few of the boys in your group stretched, #41 stood stiff as a board and had an unwavering grin on his face, #23 just stood calmly glaring ahead, and you took a step back and extended your wings to their full 13 foot length giving them a few slow flaps to loosen them up for the possibility of flying.

"THIS TEST'LL CONSIST OF A 3 KILOMETER MARATHON!!" You heard a few people gasp and some of them went pale, Hizashi grinned at their fear. "BEAR IN MIND HOWEVER, THIS ISN'T A COURSE YOU CAN COMPLETE JUST BY RUNNING! MAKE FREE USE OF YOUR QURIKS AND REACH THE GOAL!" A collective cheer of relief and excitement came from the students not in the first group. Everyone was excited at showing off their quirks. You kept your wings extended as you stood at the starting line, this was perfect. You loved flying more than most things and this was going to be fun, you'd get to fly and fly as fast as you can while competing.

"STARTT!" With a strong flap of your wings you shot off into the sky not caring at the gaping mouths you left behind with your speed and almost angelic way of taking flight. Right beneath you #23 was piling stacks of ice on top of one another in a rapid succession propelling himself as he surfed on top of it. His speed and controlled use of his quirk impressed you greatly. Right on par with him was #41, you couldn't see his quirk but you could feel it as the wind whipping around his body was slightly pushing against you as well. He was using his manipulation of air currents to make himself fly.

They were fast, you had to admit that, and with the air pushing against you it was hard, but you were faster. You just closed your eyes and allowed the feeling of freedom, the cool chill of the airstream whipping against your skin, the thin, high altitude air entering your lungs and being spread to your cells faster and faster as you flew. You were focused on winning but the pure freedom that comes with flying was exhilarating you, you weren't exhausted in the slightest. This was fun.

The people below you fought against one another not even realizing you were ahead of them and you just loved the feeling of flight, it was peaceful. You wanted to fight, I mean who doesn't, but if you weren't fighting physically at least you could fly. As disappointed as you were from not fighting, at least something good was coming out of this: with this type of exam, it was perfect to show the ones that Aizawa said doubted you that you were the best and didn't even need to sabotage other examiners (like they were doing to one another) to prove it.

The finish line was directly below you and like a hawk going in for the kill, you pressed your wings against your body and dive bombed. The air was ripping against your skin at the high speed you were falling, a few people screamed at how fast you were going to hit the ground but as soon as you got within 10 feet of the ground, your massive wings snapped back open catching the air and letting you land with only a wince and slight stumble from the impact. Within 45 seconds of your landing, the half-and-half boy and the tall one crossed the finish line a hair difference between the two.

You had all destroyed the previous record by a few minutes. After waiting for another 20-ish minutes the entirety of your group had completed the course, the boy with the visible teeth finished relatively quicker than the remaining members of your group, by the end the last two to finish were panting and on varying stages of being ready to pass out. Hizashi sent you a thumbs up for winning and getting a new record before he had to go back to the next race.

"You're the girl who won right?" You turned your purple eyes from watching the weaker boys with distaste to having to tilt your head up to look at the tall boy who came in second. He had a bright smile on his face and a stiff hand extended to you. You put your hand in his, idly noting how his dwarfed yours, and shook it.

"Do you see anyone else with wings?" His smile didn't falter in the slightest as he continued to shake your hand.

"Ah, you're right! Haha. What's your name? My name is Inasa Yoarashi and you were totally amazing out there. You flew so fast and your wings are so massive and wow!"

"[Name]." You replied slightly amused at this boys boisterous and odd personality. You'd expected him to be slightly bitter since most people didn't like to lose but he held nothing of the sort, at least towards you, instead he seemed friendly?

"[Name]-san, that's a weird last name!" Inasa laughed loudly as he chatted with you. He was impressed with your skills and although you had not a 'nice' look on your face you didn't have eyes like a jerk. He liked how odd you were and his lack of knowledge of who you were made it easier for him to converse with you.

"It's my first name." You replied blandly. His grin seemed to widen at that, you were already on first name basis and he just came over to be friends. He thought you were kind of weird, and slightly intimidating (if he wasn't so fearless) but were friendly enough to want to use first names. Cool, he was hoping that even when he was now going to a different school (because the half-and-half guy was a total prick) that you guys could be good friends.

"Oh wow, you consider us close enough friends to use first names already, thats so awesome! Oh or maybe it's a cultural thing, you're from America or something right I can tell by your slight accent." You sighed at the familiar questioning of your ethnicity, was not being 100% Japanese really that weird?

"I don't go by my last name and yes, I'm half-American."

"That's really cool! Why'd you come to Japan then? Is it to go to UA or for your parents or..."

"It's not your business." Your voice came out cold and sent a shiver down Inasa's spine. He saw the slightest of bloodlust come and go when he mentioned your parents and so he decided to change the subject. Before he could say anything else, 6 Pro-heroes that were UA teachers came out to take you into your interviews.

"Bye [Name]-chan it was nice to meet you, good luck with your interview. Don't forget, PLUS ULTRA!!" He threw his fist into the air before walking out with his interviewer. The familiar R-18 hero made her way over to you. Her hips swaying side to side and a happy (and slightly seductive) smile fixed on her face. You weren't even phased by her provocative hero costume and how she pulled you into a hug, squishing her chest against you slightly.

"Awe my little protege did soo good! I've never seen you look so happy!" She gushed towards you while sending a wink towards the blushing boys that were gawking at her as she led you away. She cracked her whip and grinned. "This side of you... I like it you're perfect UA material!" You couldn't stop the small smile that donned your face, it really did feel nice to win, you feel like you've done something right by the people who took time out of their lives to not just watch you but care for you as well.

"Thanks Kaya." You walked up the familiar staircase and into the office of principal Nezu. There the man-beast-thing was sitting with his fingers interlocked in front of his mouth, a wide grin on his scarred furry face.

"Midnight thanks for bringing her to me, you may leave now!" Rang out Nezu's high and overly chipper voice. You welt warm arms wrap around your body and the familiar spicy and sultry smell of midnight invaded your senses. You leaned into her touch slightly and let the aroma relax you, she purposely let her scent out a tiny bit more knowing how tense being around Nezu was for you, meeting with him was always the difference between you being taken away from your home or not.

Midnight strut her way out of the office and Nezu clapped giddily. "Alright Tenshi-chan! Your interview fro UA is going to go a little different given your circumstances. Before we start I would like to say I'm extremely impressed at your showing during the physical aptitude test, you beat the record with ease and you looked incredibly calm during the entire thing. Even though it was a battle of sorts none of the usual bloodlust you have was present, what made that change?"

"I was enjoying the feeling of flying. And I wanted to prove to everyone that I deserve to stay with Aizawa by winning without having to touch another student." You replied, leaning back into your chair and crossing your legs. You knew how this worked, it wasn't some much of an interview, it was more of an interrogation and although you wanted to tell everyone to shove it, you knew how they'd take that so you went along and answered every question truthfully.

"And would your outcome have been different if you were required to go head to head in combat with other students?"

"No, I would have won either way."

"I agree but we both know that's not what I'm asking." The animal let out a happy laugh and his smile widened a fraction, beady eyes boring into your narrowed purple ones.

"Yes I know. I would have enjoyed a fight but I wouldn't have killed anybody. I may have a bloodlust but I have enough self control not to kill when I fight with people, if I didn't you and everyone mandated to watch over me would be dead." Nezu poured a cup of tea down his chest has he laughed maniacally.

"Ah there is that sense of humor I love so much, you are such an interesting human Tenshi-chan." You rolled your eyes slightly, Nezu never didn't confuse you. Everything he said didn't match his happy tone and it pissed you off on how impossible he is to comprehend. "For your final question: Have you finally figured out a reasoning to become a hero? I know you are kind of forced into this whole life but most heroes find their purpose sometime, have you experienced enough of life to find a reason to fight for the benefit of humanity yet?" Nezu watched in interest as your lidded, glittering eyes glazed over and you scrunched your face in thought.

"No, Hizashi has been helping me understand why other people are heroes but I do not have a reason yet."

Everyone has a reason for fighting, for living so whats mine...

You were broken out of your thoughts when Nezu got your attention once more. "No worries you still have a while before needing to know. Well Tenshi-chan all I have to say now is welcome to UA! You'll be in class 1-A of course I look forward to getting to watch you even more closely for the years to come." Nezu gave you one more of those unnerving animal smiles and your insides twisted from it. You stood up and walked out of the room, raising your left hand in a two finger salute before leaving.

"Uh, yeah sounds great. See ya."

A/N: So her doing this well was a given, the recommended exams (Mange idk if in the anime yet or not) were basically suited for someone to fly to do the best...so thats why. Different scenarios make for different people to win. Like hide n seek, Hagakure would win no contest.

Ok so i know you are probably pissed there was no Todoroki interaction but like lets face it, he would have told you to fuck off instantly but since you won... will he remember you next chapter when you start UA!

There will definitely be some interactions between you, and everyones favorite green bean and Lord Explosion Murder show up next. How will Bakugou react to you?? Love you all thanks for reading.  now we can really get into the story!
