Oli glanced around. "So this is the hero headquarters?"

"I mean, yeah. Where else would Ms Fennec be taking us?" Scott remarked wryly.

"I was just asking, Scott. No need to be a jerk." He protested, pulling his tongue at the cyan haired boy.

"Calm down, you two." Pix interrupted with a tired expression, cutting off Scott's sharp retort. "We're here to learn from heroes, not fight like a pair of six year olds."

"I was not-" Oli broke off with a sigh, muttering rebelliously under his breath as the three caught up to the rest of the group, who were chattering excitedly amongst themselves.

Ms Fennec paused, her tail swishing back and forth as she halted before a door. "Through here, kids." The ginger haired woman said brightly, opening the door and walking inside.

Oli exchanged a glance with Pix before following her. He stepped around Joel and Joey, who were pushing and shoving each other in an attempt to get through the door first, and followed the teacher.

The blonde drew to a halt at the sight of the heroes, who all turned to look as more of his classmates entered the room.

There was only one female hero- she had messy ginger hair and piercing emerald-green eyes. Her skin was a pale, sickly green with random stitches strewn across her body. Zombie Queen.

Two of the other heroes were stood together. One, a man with dark brown hair, tanned, freckles skin and bright white/yellow eyes, was trying eagerly to make his way over to the students. He was being restrained by a noticeably taller man with neat white hair, dark gray and red eyes and a mask covering his mouth and nose. Solis and... Tenebris, maybe?

Another hero- a tall man with curly dark brown hair, green eyes and a scar across his face- was chattering excitedly to the man stood next to him, who appeared to be a creeper hybrid of some sort. He also had goat-like horns protruding from his head and a bionic eye and arm. Enchanter and Aeternus.

Oli glanced sideways at Pix, who was also looking at the heroes and muttering to himself under his breath- the brunette appeared to be recalling every fact he knew about each one.

Ms Fennec turned to face the students with a smile. "As I mentioned before, this is Class E2. E2, these are the heroes from the Hermitopia division. You'll be spending a few weeks with your chosen hero to learn what it's like on the job." The fox hybrid paused, before brightening slightly. "You have a designated area for the class to stay in, as you were informed on the journey here. If you get lost, feel free to ask one of the heroes for help." Without another word, the woman calmly left the room.

Oli glanced at Scott and Jimmy as the rest of the students split up to go talk to the heroes they'd be patrolling and working with- Enchanter, who was notably a sociable and enthusiastic hero, was easily one of the most popular choices, as well as Zombie Queen.

Scott was the first to approach Aeternus, who looked rather uncomfortable. "You're Aeternus, right? My name's Scott!"

The creeper hybrid blinked. "Nice to meet you... Scott." He said awkwardly. It was at this moment that Oli discovered that the man had a thick German accent. Oh, neat.

"Uh- yeah, we're working with you as well." Jimmy added quietly as he and Oli walked over. "I'm Jimmy, and- that's Oli."

"That is me, hello." Oli said with a small wave.

Aeternus smiled slightly, still looking rather uncomfortable. "Nice to meet you as well. I was just about to head on a patrol, actually, so you three can come with me. If that's alright."

"Yeah, sure! Hero work, let's go!" Scott cheered.

"Yep. Hero work. But please don't jump into a fight with a villain." The hero smiled wryly. "That's my job."

Patrolling was actually rather boring, as it turned out. It was mostly civilians swarming towards Aeternus and the hero talking about fights he'd been in (the last part was rather interesting, actually).

Nothing really eventful happened until the sound of an explosion echoed down the street.

Oli stared as two people walked out of the burning remains of the shop, laughing and talking to each other. One he was pretty sure was the villain X.

The other, he didn't know. It was a man with curly black hair, tanned skin, a lab coat that might have been white many years ago, and eyes that were pure black- maybe dark blue- and glowing slightly. Midnight blue vines, speckled with glowing sky blue flecks, from a plant Oli didn't recognise were coiled around the villain's neck and the horns poking out of his messy mop of hair.

He glanced sideways as he heard a cross mutter from Aeternus, who was reaching for his weapon of choice, an axe. "X and Sculk. Fantastic." Oh, so his villain name is Sculk. Neat. Wait- no- not neat, he just blew up a shop, Oli- that's like the opposite of neat-

The blonde barely payed attention as the fight began, only looking over when he saw Aeternus' power (immortality), come into play. He had been rather aggressively stabbed in the chest and he froze for a moment. Then it was as if the hero had glitched- and suddenly all that remained of the wound was a tiny scratch and he was absolutely fine.

He heard an impressed gasp from Jimmy and shot the dark blonde a mildly amused gasp. "How about you blow them up instead of just watching the fight?" Oli suggested.

"I- don't know about that. I don't know if you were paying attention, but he told us to stay here- oh, look, it's Zombie Queen!" Jimmy added brightly, getting completely distracted at the sight of the hero.

The fight was easily the most interesting part of Oli's day so far (even if he did nearly get hit in the head by a bunch of bricks that X pulled from the wall near him using his power, before throwing them at Aeternus).
