Oli blinked sleepily as he felt someone poking him. "Oli. Oli, we have class. Hero Simulations. Please get up, you've already missed breakfast."

It was Pix, who looked a mix between amused and irritated. "Wait, I missed breakfast?" The blonde mumbled as Pix laughed.

"Yes. Now hurry up and get changed. Don't be late to class as well." The brunette added.

"Fiv-"

"Don't even say five more minutes. Get out of bed."

Oli glanced around as they walked through the door. It was an empty room with white walls and a white floor. "So what do we do now? This doesn't look like a simulation, it looks like an empty room." The blonde added.

Gem laughed. "You'd be correct. Mr Michaels will start the simulation in a moment." She added, referring to their teacher- a man with dark brown hair, brown skin, blue eyes, devil horns and tail and a power that involved creating multicoloured fire. "There's normally a letter or something that appears when the simulation starts and it tells us what to do."

"I thought explaining stuff was my job, Gem." Pix said with a laugh as Gem smiled sheepishly.

There was a pause as the room around them flickered and suddenly it appeared that they were in front of a building.

The group looked around for a moment before Scott let out an excited yelp. "Found it! Found the letter!" The cyan haired boy declared, waving it triumphantly in the air.

"Well, read it out then." Joey huffed, rolling his eyes. Scott pulled his tongue at the blonde before opening the envelope and unfolding the letter. He paused, clearing his throat before beginning to read it.

"'A group of villains has taken hostages inside this building. Your job is to free the hostages and capture the villains while causing as little damage as possible.'" Scott finished promptly, glancing at the building.

"That sounds pretty simple." FWhip said with a shrug, walking towards the door and opening it loudly. There was a pause as the creaking and slamming of the door echoed throughout the building, and then a gunshot.

The room around them flickered as the simulation reset and a robotic voice rang out from somewhere. "Failure was caused by alerting the villain to your presence via a loud noise. Try again."

Oli blinked. "Wait, it resets every time you mess up?" He asked, glancing around.

"Yep. We get fifteen attempts before we fail the simulation." Pix informed him with a sigh. "Maybe try and open the door quietly, FWhip." The brunette added, and the ginger haired boy nodded.

False sighed, walking up to the door (which Oli now noticed was made of mostly metal with a pane of glass at the top) and resting her open palm on it. She closed her eyes and the door collapsed in on itself, twisting into a ball of cracked metal that didn't make as much noise as FWhip has. Didn't it say as little damage as possible?

Joel quickly darted forwards, catching the glass pane before it could hit the floor and shatter and placing it on the ground gently.

"Wait, how can we interact with the things in the simulation?" Oli asked, wincing slightly. I feel so stupid-

"It's like- a magic simulation? Ms Fennec's power is to do with illusions, and she helps with the simulations. That's why she works down here." Jimmy added, referring to the teacher with ginger hair and fox ears and tail who could often be seen running between rooms in the Hero Simulations branch of the school with a slightly panicked expression.

"Ohh, that makes sense." He paused. "Then how did Joel hit his head on the roof?"

Joel let out a muttered complaint. "Oh, come on- how does he know about that?!"

Jimmy laughed. "I'm guessing that someone told Oli about it, Joel. And the answer to your question is that sometimes Ms Fennec... forgets certain things and it causes some interesting experiences.." The dark blonde explained. "Like making it so Joel can't fly without smacking his head on the roof." Jimmy added with a snort of laughter.

"Shut it, toy boy." Joel shot back, pulling his tongue at the dark blonde.

"I dressed up as Woody for Halloween ONE TIME! ONE TIME!" Jimmy protested loudly.

"If you guys are done with that, everyone else has gone inside." Joey said with a bored expression, and Oli looked around to see that it was in fact true. Everyone but Oli, Joey, Jimmy and Joel had entered the building.

"Great. I'm sure we'll do great without Pix and Gem helping us." Joel commented wryly. "I'm gonna try and get in through a window." He added, spreading his wings and flying away.

"I see that Ms Fennec didn't forget about the roof this time." Jimmy commented wryly.

"Yeah, yeah, whatever. Let's go inside, come on." Oli added brightly. This seems fun.

"So I'm stuck with you guys? Fantastic."
Joey said jokingly. At least, Oli hoped it was jokingly.

"Again, let's go inside." This simulation thing is really cool, wow. I definitely need to ask Ms Fennec more about her power.

"So, when the letter mentioned villains... what did it mean? Like, obviously there won't be actual villains, but still." Oli added.

"Close, but not right. There's simulation versions of actual villains. They don't talk though. They just try and attack you. Creepy." Jimmy added.

Oli nodded quietly, mentally listing off villains there might be versions of and how he would fight them.

There was a villain who went quite simply by the name of X. He wore an outfit similar to the fictional character Doomguy, and he could manipulate the terrain around him- like False's power, but he could manipulate anything.

Then there was Crimson Witch (her name sounded like a discount version of the fictional character Scarlet Witch to Oli, but whatever), who had a power similar to Shelby's, only her magic was a lot stronger and any spell that was cast had some form of red light to it.

And then there's-

"Oli! Hurry up!"

He smiled sheepishly at Jimmy. "Sorry!"

Also if you payed close attention and you know my ocs, you'll notice that I slipped Apollo and Amber in there as teachers ;)
