Five
Oli let out a tired huff. "Wasn't the point of this to free hostages? Why are there no hostages?" He whispered, and Jimmy shrugged.
"We haven't found them yet, I guess." The blonde suggested with an awkward laugh.
"I mean, there's another room through here, so they might-" Joey broke off. "Uh-"
Oli rushed forwards, following his gaze. The room was empty apart from two people- a woman with long brown hair and blonde highlights (who was wearing an incredibly fashionable red cloak and was holding a twisted staff made of what appeared to be splintered oak) was stood next a woman with white hair that black streaks, who was tied up on the ground. Namely, the simulation version of Crimson Witch with a hostage.
Oli felt a hand on his shoulder as Jimmy pulled both him and Joey back. "Okay, we need to think carefully about what we do next." The dark blonde said in a whisper.
"Why? It's a simulation. She can't hurt us." Joey said with a roll of his eyes.
Jimmy sighed. "No, but for one thing, the simulation restarts if we 'get hit', and for another, we're meant to treat this as if it was happening in real life- so we need to treat this as if we were actually confronting Crimson Witch."
"If this was happening in real life, I would run." Joey said matter of factly. "That woman is a serial killer and she's insane."
"That's not something a hero would really say." Oli whispered, and Jimmy nodded in agreement.
"No, but it's something that somebody who wants to not perish would say." Joey shot back with a huff.
"Whatever. I think we should think about this carefully, maybe not let her know we're there until the last second and then we-" Jimmy broke off, staring in disbelief as Joey produced a water bottle seemingly from out of nowhere, poured out the contents of it and made an odd gesture so that the water rearranged itself into a sphere hovering above his hand.
Joey rushed out into the doorway. "Hey, idiot! Over here!" The simulated Crimson Witch turned around slowly, her piercing red eyes narrowing.
"Or you can do that, that works as well." Jimmy muttered wryly, rushing after him. Uhhh- do I just stay here or- nope, I should probably help.
Oli ran out into the doorway and was greeted by a burst of bright red light that narrowly missed him. Ok, wow, rude-
He glanced at Crimson Witch, who had swiftly become preoccupied with Joey, who was shouting unintelligible nonsense at her and dodging her attacks, and Jimmy, who had just blown up her staff. Oli glanced at the woman with white and black hair, who was watching the fight with a blank expression. Weren't we meant to free the hostages? I guess I'll do that then. I mean, I don't think I could even take Crimson Witch's power because she's not an actual person. I can't just... manifest powers out of nowhere.
Oli took advantage of the villain being distracted, carefully walking towards the hostage and leaning down to untie the ropes that were holding her arms in place. She said nothing standing up and walking out of the room. It's really weird, I keep forgetting that they aren't actual people.
He then turned to Crimson Witch, who was being somewhat successfully trapped by Joey and Jimmy- it was literally just Joey throwing water at her face while Jimmy fumbled with the rope that he had found on the floor.
The dark blonde struggled for a moment before managing to somewhat trap Crimson Witch in the rope. It was messy, but she was somewhat contained. The room then flickered out of sight as the white room reappeared- although it appeared to be split up with makeshift walls.
A robotic voice rang out from nowhere in particular. "Part 1-B of the simulation has been completed. Group Two may now exit the simulation room."
"Are we group two?" Oli asked Jimmy.
"I guess so." The dark blonde said with a shrug, nodding at Joey, who had just walked out of the room without any further complaints.
"Okay, I guess." The two exited the room, and a few minutes later, Joel walked out of the simulation room, looking incredibly annoyed.
"Finding a way in through a window was not the best move." The brunette said crossly.
"Why's that?" Jimmy asked curiously.
"Because I went into the room, and there were two hostages but no villain in sight, so I thought, 'oh, this'll be easy' and then I turn around and guess who's stood there? Chemica. Lucky me." Joel spat, referencing the blonde haired villain with the ability to create chemicals and concoctions from his hands.
"He's the government scientist guy who went crazy, right?" Oli asked curiously.
"Mhm. I was worried for a minute that Blaze and Fortis were gonna be there as well- they're normally a trio- but they weren't, thank god." Blaze was a villain with spiky blonde hair and red eyes who had the ability to quite simply create fire, and Fortis was a brunette villain who simply had super strength. The three were commonly seen together, so it wasn't surprising that Joel had been concerned that the two would be there as well.
"That sounds like a difficult fight. How did you-" Joey broke off as Pix, False, Sausage, Lizzie and Scott walked out of the room with a tired expression.
"Who did you-"
"X. Don't wanna talk about it." Pix added with an awkward laugh. "You?"
"Crimson Witch." Jimmy declared. "Although the fight would've been easier if Joey listened to me instead of running ahead."
"Oh, really? See, I was just thinking the same about Scott and Lizzie." False said wryly, shooting a glare in the direction of the two. Scott muttered something sheepishly and Lizzie simply laughed.
As it turned out, Katherine, Shelby, FWhip and Gem had fought a villain named Phoenix.
"It was scary! I ran in there because he just looked like a guy in a red sweater holding a little wooden statue of a bird and then, BOOM! The bird statue turned into an actual Phoenix and then he had wings and then there was fire everywhere." FWhip finished dramatically.
Wow, their fights all sound a lot more interesting than ours was.
Yes, I snuck another of my ocs in there as the hostage ;)
Also, if you couldn't figure it out-
X- Xisuma
Crimson Witch- Pearl
Chemica- Zedaph
Blaze- Tango
Fortis- Impulse
Phoenix- Grian
There will be more villains to come, but not all of them are hermits ;) (it's just that most of them are because I can't think of anything else. Also, unless the plot changes, the villains aren't going to be very present in the story lol, they're just kind of there as an example)
(Apart from a few chapters I have planned, but OtHeRwIsE not gonna really be there)
(Maybe)
