Prisoners: Marcus
Marcus sat in the dim light of team 4's base, he was alone, sharpening his sword. He sighed as he felt bored and weighed down from the sudden meteor strikes that had happened not to long ago. Honestly, he was frightened for his life.
The door opened a crack and Scale, the long, green python slipped in. He flicked his tongue at Marcus.
"What do you want?" Marcus asked the snake calmly.
"Jusssst to inform you that we need you on the field. We have captured two...Normal humanssss and they won't talk." Scale hissed, raising his diamond shaped head.
Marcus nodded, "lead the way Cold-Blood."
"Watch your tongue human." Scale snapped, sliding down the hallway and toward the prisoner room.
Marcus rolled his eyes at the python, following him.
Scale slipped through the door, Marcus followed him, closing the door silently.
Inside the room was a young girl and a teenage boy, each were strapped to chairs. The boy was glaring at them and the girl looked as though she was about to scream. Marcus relaxed, easy prey, he leaned forward.
"Who are you?" He asked the two, he could tell they were siblings.
"Like we're telling you," scoffed the boy, pulling at his binds.
"Well, I think your going to tell me." Marcus smirked evily, he shoved his hand into his pocket.
"And why are we going to do that?" The boy snapped, the girl just sat there quietly.
"Because," Marcus thrusted out his hand, which now held a dagger he had stolen from a teammate. The blade ended at the girl's throat, "or she dies."
"Sophie!" The boy burst out, he quickly shut his mouth but Marcus already knew. The girl was named Sophie, now just the boy.
Sophie glanced at the dagger, her face hot with newly found tears. "Please..." She sobbed, trying to be strong was her weakness, Marcus guessed.
"Fine, I'll tell you as long as you leave her out of it." The boy grumbled, yanking at the ropes.
"You got yourself a deal!" Marcus laughed, pulling away from the frightened Sophie.
"I'm Byce," he said, looking down.
"And why were you in our territory?" Marcus asked, putting presure on the word 'our'.
"We didn't know, we were just looking for a place to rest." Byce snapped, spitting a glob of spit onto Marcus' shoe.
Marcus glared at the boy, stepping closer and grabbing Byce by the hair. "Do not disrespect me, Byce."
Byce groaned in pain, trying to pull away, Sophie wailed, "Byce! Leave him alone you b*tch!"
Marcus snapped his head to the girl, he growled, "really? 'Cause it sounds like your the f*cking b*tch!"
"Well...Well...I..." She raked her brain for an insult that suited Marcus. She took a deep breath, "dear God f*cking d*mn you, you mother f*cking d*ckhead!" Then she closed her eyes and muttered a prayer.
Both Byce and Marcus stared at Sophie, shocked, like where did she even learn this language?
"Why you..." Marcus started, walking toward the brave little girl.
"Marcus!" A voice snapped, "leave this to me, now."
Marcus turned to see Kai and sighed before strutting out and down the hallway. He decided to go to the Food Court to cool off and have a snack.
He went and grabbed a hotdog then sat at an empty table. Marcus glared at his food intently, loosing himself to his thoughts.
The rest of the day passed by with ease, though Marcus tried to avoid Kai for awhile. But in the end they started talking about adventures and about what they should do with Byce and Sophie.
"I think we should tie them to a pole and burn 'em like they used to with witches." Marcus suggested, his eyes held a vengeful gleam.
"No, I don't think we should kill them, at least not yet." Kai dismissed the idea with a wave of his hand. "Maybe we could use them? To our advantage? I mean, we could use them to spy or something because they're...Disposable."
"That's brilliant, Kai!" Marcus was such a suck-up when it came to people he knew were stronger than him.
Kai rolled his eyes and said, "see you later, Marcus."
Marcus nodded and watched as Kai left him to his thoughts again but before he could envelope himself in his Lalaland there was a loud hiss and a scaly green head peered at him.
"Scale! You scared me!" He had to bite his tongue to stop himself from saying something that he'd regret.
The snake's tongue slipped out of his mouth, tasting the air. "I can sssssssmell you fear, Marcusssss."
"Well, that's not creepy at all."
