Fight Night (8) Re-Edited

Savannah's P.O.V

I woke up from something wet falling on my face "Savannah? Annah? Can you hear me?"

"You yelling at her isn't going to wake her up any sooner Ellie."

"Shut the fuck up Blaze. This is all your fault."

"Don't tell me to shut up."

"C-Can you.. can you guys please stop yelling? My head is hurting."

I hear Ellie letting a huge breath out "Thank god you are awake, Annah."

"Where am I? What happened?"

"You passed out. The nurse has no idea why neither do we. So do you want to explain?"

"It is none of your business." I snapped at him

"It is my fucking business because I carried you all the way here and you passed out in my arms."

"Yeah? And why did I pass out in your arms because you were manhandling me!"

"Guys! Please." Ellie yelled over the top of us "Annah, you just woke up after passing out you have to take it easy."

"Tell him to leave, then I will."

"Excuse me?" Blaze said

I gave him a fake smile and said: "I told you to fuck off nicely."

"Blaze, will you please leave? It will be easier on her and it will ease the headache that's beginning to form because of both of you arguing."

He scoffed looking straight at me "You are one insufferable bitch Savannah."

"Please, I've heard worse, just leave Blaze." His facial impression changed immediately.

"Since both of you are ignoring me. I'm going to go home to bring you some clothes and all of us some coffee." I looked at her and nodded.

Once she was gone Blaze started his interrogation "Why did you pass out Savy?"

"You know why Cage. You shouldn't have manhandled me and I didn't say anything that wasn't true."

Blaze groaned putting his hand to his forehead "Did your dad hit you?"

I raised an eyebrow at him "Of course not, why would he do that?"

"Stop playing dumb Savannah." He snapped at me "You know why."

. . . Flashback. . .

"We need to talk," said Cage climbing through my bedroom window.

I look at him weirdly "You do know that my house has a door right?

"Babe, I'm serious we have to talk about us."

"What?"

"I have to continue fighting as a job, I got in with the wrong time of people and they aren't willing to let me out. I can't leave Savy, you have to understand that." I look at him shocked, that's what he wanted to talk about? I thought he was going to talk about him disappearing every so often, I thought he was going to explain what's going on in his life. I thought he was finally going to let me in.

"Where are you going to fight?"

"Fight Night where we met, they aren't willing to let me go because-"

"Why do you disappear?"

He looked at me confused "What do you mean?"

"You know what I mean. Why do you disappear for days and then come back into my room when I'm sleeping and lay down with me?" He took a step closer but I put my hand up to stop him, we needed to have this talk otherwise these questions were going to drive me crazy. They are eating away at me. "You were right when you said we needed to talk but we are going to talk from a distance."

"Not about this, this is another topic for another time baby."

Closing my eyes, I shake my head "If we are going to talk then let's talk about it all Cage."

"I leave because I need to fight at other locations, I leave because I don't want you to see me with bruises and cuts Savannah."

"Cage, I am so tired of this back and forth. It's taking a toll on my body, we have been dating for four months and you have been here for barely two of them."

Suddenly he yanked me up from my bed and started to pull me towards the bedroom door "What are you doing? Cage! Let me go!"

"No, you are coming to the fight with me tonight, so you can see everything, know everything since you can't bring yourself to trust a word that is coming out of my mouth."

"No."

"Savannah you're testing my patience with you, just listen to me.."

"Or what? What are you going to do? Leave again."

"Stop throwing that in my face Savannah."

"Why?"

"You know why now let's go." Ignoring all my hits and curses towards him he managed to put me in his truck and drag me to his fight.

"Savy, get your ass out here right now before I break the door down. I don't have time for games I'm going up soon." Cage yelled banging on his dressing room door because just as we entered the club I booked it in here and locked the door. He knows I hate seeing him fight. I don't understand what he is trying to do.

"No, I'm not coming out. I don't like seeing you fight."

"I don't care come out now."

"No, go to hell."

"This is childish Savy."

"Cage, I can't watch it. Please."

"Come out, otherwise you will never get the answer you won't stop pestering me for." I internally groan getting up I make my way to the door opening it and see him leaning in the doorway smirking. "Coming Sweetheart?"

I brush past him and say "I hate you, don't call me that."

He just smirks and catches up to me, but stays quiet. As we were almost down the hallway he grabbed my hand sliding his fingers through mine. I look up at him in shock but he's looking forward with a little grin on his face. Each time I try to pull away his grip gets tighter. "We both know that's a lie Savy."

Once we got to the ring he looked over at his bodyguard and said "Don't let her out of your sight. She is mine, no guy should be wandering around her."

"I am not an object, I am a human being. Thank you very much."

He was about to respond when the M.C. entered the ring and, in typical fashion, called out their names and the battle started. Let me tell you, it was an extremely awful sight to witness. The knife was on the ground, and Cage was on top of it, repeatedly elbowing him in the face. He grinned slightly and fixed his gaze on him, as if he was pleased with his performance and only wanted to win.. whatever the cost to him. His eyes met me when the referee eventually removed him. It seemed as though the person in the ring was a stranger because of the cold, dead look in his eyes, which was unlike anything I was used to. Not him, not my Cage at all. He only gave me a big smile and spat blood on the knife as he approached me and cautiously left the ring. As I moved, he grabbed my waist and drew me in his direction.

"This is why I don't bring you to my fights, you are going to be afraid of me just like everyone else. This is where I disappear to Savy whether you like it or not this is a second home to me."

I let out a shaky breath "I am not afraid of you. I can never be afraid of you because I know you would never hurt me."

. . . Present . . .

"What he did or what he didn't do, it's none of your business Cage."

He punched the wall beside my bed and leaned over me "It is. It is because you still call me by that name if I didn't matter to you at all anymore you would listen and call me Blaze. Why don't you understand that if you don't stop someone will hear and put you in danger."

"What kind of danger? Danger from who Cage?" He grabbed my face with his injured hand rubbing some of the blood onto my face accidentally

"From me. I am the danger."

"I told you once Cage, I am not afraid of you and I will never be because I know that you wouldn't hurt me, not physically at least."

"Please, please tell me what he did." He whispered

Pulling my face away from his grip, I look down at my hands "He whipped me with his belt."

He leaned down closer till I felt his breath brush gently across my forehead, he gently lifted my face up so our lips were aligned and pecked them "How can you be so brave, broken, and strong all at once?"

"Practice, lots of practice," I whispered leaning up and connecting our lips again, he responded immediately gently shifting on top of me careful not to put any weight on me. He licked my bottom lip asking for permission, letting out a small moan I let him in. We kissed for a while until his phone pulled us out of our moment and into reality. I don't open my eyes, he doesn't pull away either just resting his forehead against mine.

"I'm so sorry Savy, you don't deserve any of this. This can't happen again." I didn't say anything back, just felt every movement of his until he left the room, leaving me there alone again.

Blaze's P.O.V

That wasn't supposed to happen again. We can't be together again, it's too dangerous for her. I'm too dangerous for her no matter what she says.

But every time I see her those old feelings pop up, those feelings that I want to bury.

When we first started to date she looked down when I stared at her for too long admiring her beauty. She turned away if I caught her looking at me, her smile sometimes didn't reach her eyes, and she would cry herself to sleep sometimes not knowing I was awake listening to her but no matter what she didn't lose her light, her spark that made everyone's mood change instantly when she was around. Savannah Miller is and will always be the strongest girl I've ever met.
